Ewige Diskussion!

I did not have breakfast.
The speed at checking out could be smoother.

A family run business that really cares about looking after the guests in a very warm and personal way. You really feel like a guest not a visitor. It’s a traditional Honduran hotel with beautiful furnishings, marble and stone, warm wood accents and long-standing hotel staff, many of whom have worked there for decades.
The location worked well for us because we wanted to visit the anthropology history Museum and the local market. We were advised to be cautious and alert in the streets outside the hotel, but never encountered any problems.

the rooms were big and clean.
the wifi in this hotel incredibly slow and didn’t reach all the rooms. we had a very bad experience at check-out. it took us 2 hours to check out because none of our cards were accepted - clearly because of a faulty card reader. we had to make two trips to different cash machines to be able to settle the bill without anyone at reception trying to help or proposing any solution. after we finally paid after 2 hours, we asked for an invoice which took another ten minutes at which point we had to leave to catch our plane and still didn’t get an invoice.

After returning from Copán Ruinas, I needed to get a Covid test before my flight back to the States. This hotel was well located for that purpose and is familiar to every taxi driver in town. At first, I didn't quite know what to make of this very "mediterráneo" (or rather, "egeo" -- "Aegean") establishment. Check-in was easy, and the staff, friendly. The decor, however, came as a bit of surprise in the middle of Central America: sort of like a mellower Greek version of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. All of the stonework (limestone, travertine, and marble -- oh my!) and heavy wooden furniture grew on me, though, and I ended up really liking the vibe. The Santorini Restaurant was good for both breakfast and dinner. The center of San Pedro Sula did not feel menacing at all during the day and proved far more more compelling than expected. The weathered, antique wooden houses on the side streets gave it a funky New Orleans feel. It was just a short walk to the very worthwhile Museo de Antropología e Historia and its delightful cafe, the Plaza Típica food court and souvenir complex, the Parque Central (and the adjoining cathedral, street market, and Art Deco city hall), and the MOBI clinic -- where the rapid Covid test that I had booked and paid for online a week before was performed quickly and professionally.
I had no plans to use the swimming pool but do wonder how it all works. The pool is in the middle of the ground floor, surrounded by the guests rooms, restaurant, bar, meeting rooms (which were in use during the day during my stay), and a Parthenon mural. I don't know how they reconcile children splashing and screeching right next to where people are making presentations. There was no indication that the pool was closed, but I never saw anyone use it (and there was a time when it was drained). So, I never got to see how everybody manages to coexist . . . .

I came to visit the country from New York City and stayed here with my dad for one night. The staff was informative and pleasant, the hotel is very comfortable and beautiful. The next time I come, I would bring the rest of my family to stay here with me.
The floors weren't fully clean. There was a few potato chips on the floor and a deodorant under the bed. The shower was pretty weird, because of the way the bathtub is designed it's hard to shower without getting the floors wet.

the rooms have enough space, attention is good I liked 👍

The feel and presentation of the hotel inside. Compared to outside location, I was concerned that the inside was not going to be what the pictures appear. But it meet my expectation and it was pleasant.
The inside hallway to the rooms was Hot, there is no AC. The inside pool appeared to be unable to be used because the water had evaporated. That was disappointing since, I had planned for the kids to use the pool. We left to go grab dinner, and returned late since in my mind the pool was not going to be available for the kids. But when we returned, the pool had filled in and it seemed as if it was operable. By that time, it was too late and we had to go in for the night.
Because that main hallway isn't ventilated the pool seems inoperable for the day since the water evaporates due to the heat.
