Great location, local environment vibe, which I wanted, and very friendly staff. Especially Juan and Miguel were the best staff for us. They were friendly, kind, and helpful!
Wifi was slow and unstable. The restaurant's posted hours and location details sometimes didn't match.
4.5

It has enough space with swimming pools, recreation for adult children and direct access to the beach
It needs more hot air circulation due to the hot season, for tourists and work staff
3.5
Family and adult section, plenty of space. Activities were worth doing, like yoga on the pier, pool Zumba.
Staff were terrific. Spa was nice!
Grab a beach bed early, or you’re on the sand.
Bring earbuds if you prefer your own music, because it’s everywhere.
Pay attention to restaurant hours.

I really liked the food and the service of the staff
The rooms were a bit old and we're very simple

Nothing .
Everything . The property was dirty . Over priced . All inclusive with nothing inclusive . 2 restaurants with reservations that you will never get to . Worst experience ever . Please do not go here it’s a scam

Hotel was in good location and it had good entertainment , some restaurants had good food too
Room door key (always had issue and every single time we had to go back to reception and get a new key) , maintenance support from the hotel , drinks , cleanness of pools

This is my fourth time staying at this hotel, this last one has been terrible, I'm not planning on coming back.
There were no clean towels for HOURS, we couldn't go into the pool or the Beach because they were washing the towels. The first night there was NO WATER in the whole hotel, we couldn't shower, use the bathroom or do anything that implied using water, they just apologized. The following morning I wanted to make a reservation for the specialties restaurant, they kept me in line FOREVER, it took over an hour to make the reservation... There were kids in the adults area and they just allowed it. The hotel has gone downhill and I'm no coming back at all.

Love they are pet friendly! The room was big enough and we have front sea view, the pool area is beautiful and the hotel has adult only areas. There is food and drinks available almost all day.
The A/C of the room was not cooling properly, there was a fire alarm turning on all day and night. The variety of food was ok but it wasn´t tasty.

I travelled with one of my best friends, she had never been in Puerto Vallarta. Upon arrival they informed us that we had been upgraded to a room at the next tower called Hotel MIO. They said that it was a courtesy and a way to promote the Hotel Mio. That is for adults only. So we accepted. We actually arrived on April 11th ( the booking was done through my friend's app and we split the costs) and we had these 2 extra days in Puerto Vallarta. We were going to move to another hotel but then we decided to stay. This second booking had a room at the Friendly Fun but we talked to the staff and we just stayed at the MIO to prevent all the packing involved for only 2 days. The all inclusive facilities were at the Friendly Fun. It is fantastic! There are 3 restaurants, 2 snack bars and 3 bars. It is a beach front property -not the MIO, that is right on Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue but a short walk from the Friendly Fun-. I personally have visited Puerto Vallarta with my husband since the early 2000s and this is one of the best resorts. Very pleased with all aspects.
Well, our room at the MIO was # 814. I think that a room further west could have been better. The noise of the main artery of Puerto Vallarta bothered me a little.

Rooms,pools,food,drinks, entertainment.
Not very friendly some people at the front desk.

It didn't bother us, as we only stayed for 5 nights, but the variety of food is not super big. It tends to repeat a lot during the week.
We also would love to be advised before that the special restaurants have to be booked every morning, at 9 am.
3.5
it is on the Beach and even though very busy we managed to get all we needed in seats, food and drink.
the staff is exceptional and very friendly.
I can recommend the spa: great massage and facial treatments.
during our stay there were large number of families with small kids, retired people and spring break youths and the areas were nicely separated so everyone could find their place and all groups mixed well.
the food is mediocre and same every day. as the hotel was so full it really was not easy for the staff to keep it clean no matter how hard they tried.
bathroom was wet as the shower was dripping to the floor.
the music was really on all afternoon and evening which was a bit disturbing: would rather listen to the waves. it also competed with the music of the hotel next door so quite a lot of noise pollution.
3.0
ocean view from our room , staff , pool, drinks were awesome
the food was horrendous( except the fresh made to order) would be nice to know what we were eating ( no buffet signage by dish) crumbling balconies were a concern. The beds by the pools are a waste of space, we all paid good money to be by a pool, plus beds not very sanitary. bring more loungers and umbrellas.
3.5
Food was good but often not warm enough. Overall staff was pleasant. Rooms were spacious. The wine tasting was a nice event. This is an older property but it appears there has been some painting etc. to keep it up. There were a lot of pools of varying temperatures - we really appreciated the warm ones.....they are in definite need of some upkeep though (tile repair).
It is a relatively small property with a lot of people. It felt fairly crowded in the pool area and on the beach. It is always frustrating when one must get up very early on vacation in order to get a chair. A simple solution would be to get more lounger chairs to accommodate all your guests. There is some room to put more chairs on the beach in front of the volleyball nets.
There was no orientation when we got there, and what was listed on the app was not always correct. It was kind of frustrating to figure out what was happening and where things were, times restaurants were open and on which nights. There were also some "rules" for booking and ordering at the restaurants that were not clear and simply unnecessary. For examples: Why can a person not order just french-fries at the snack restaurant - we were told you must order the sandwich that goes with it....really???
The first room we were in had a balcony that looked over the staff washroom, ice machine, motors which we assume were for the air-conditioning and the back of the kitchen so the noise, and the smell were not nice at all. We could not sit on the balcony and enjoy the time there. We requested a change and were moved, which we appreciated, however, really there should be no guest rooms in that area.(turn them in to storage or office space or something). That is not conducive an enjoyable vacation experience at all.
It was weird that we did not have a fridge in our room, especially in an all inclusive. And it was even weirder that there was no towel hanger in the bathroom.
2.5
The place was clean and the staff was friendly and the actual property was very nice. The pools were great.
The food was on the brink of being terrible and it was the same thing every day. Didn't even have oatmeal for breakfast. And the one buffet they didn't even have steam trays they put them in large bowls so you had scrambled eggs in a bowl not even warm. I had diarrhea two different days. And any meat that they cooked had excessive salt.
The pools and the chaise lounges are non-existent there's maybe 30 chairs people are out there at 5:30 in the morning using the flashlight on their phones to save them. They put in six beds that could have fit another 30 to 40 lounge chairs instead of just six people getting them. The adult section there are no lounge chairs only beds. So your choice is to try to find a place on the beach. Lots of funky wired chairs and beds. Entertainment was very lacking The only one that was any good was a Cuban band they brought in. There's no water aerobics. Or games during the day.
The room we had an ocean view and the room was very large and it was clean but the bed was like sleeping on the floor and so were the pillows. We asked four times in a day to get softer pillows and what they did was they brought us pillows that were chunks. There is no rack for towels in the bathroom so they pile them up on the vanity which takes up a lot of space. I end up having to put them on the tank in the toilet. There's nowhere to hang them and nowhere to store them. There's no lotion and it's these tiny 1 in by 2 in bars of soap. They do give you shampoo. No conditioner.
They have two restaurants besides the buffet you have to make reservations 9:00 not any other time but 9:00 a.m. for whatever restaurant may be open they're not open every day and again the food was very very salty. Oh and they have no champagne! The wine they have is the same one red one white and it was awful. Can't even buy wine to upgrade.

Welcoming, attentive, and friendly staff. Great pool and beach access. Clean and quiet room.

Amazing friendly service. Very accomodating for every need. Above and beyond.
Music. Very few authentic local or spanish. Too much loud obnoxious dance music not suitable for a relaxing mexican tropical experience. If I wanted to listen to bad versions of popular rock or pop songs I would go to a kareoke bar in Alberta Canada.

Staff is very welcoming and friendly.
Resort is very, very outdated.
if you are looking for a good night a sleep, it is not possible. Beds are at least 20 year old. 3 bath towels for 4 ppl, only one hand towel, and NO WASH CLOTHES. Hallways are so loud, bring your ear plugs.
Only one (1)of 3 pools can be used by adult and children. DO NOT THINK you will have a lounge by the pool. There is only 38-40 lounge chairs by the main pool and most of them will be taken by retired people at 8am. Asked staff for more chairs or anything to sit on and was told to go to the beach or wait for lounge chairs to open up. Nobody monitors lounges, people just leave their towels there all day, while they take a nap inside.
Food is ok, if your choice of food is a Golden Coral buffet. everything taste the same, chicken and broccoli.

staff were tremendous. very clean everywhere.
beach and pool lounges and chairs had little support.
could use more lounges at beach because people seem to “reserve” very early in the morning then don’t use until later in the morning.

The complaints are so minimal it’s not an issue!

2nd time at Friendly Fun. The staff is wonderful, could not be better. They added a kitchen and bar to the adults pool area serving drinks and cooked snacks. The fish tacos were exceptional. Seriously, best ever. Afternoon DJ pumped out some great upbeat music.
They changed their outdoor furniture to some art deco style chairs that we're very uncomfortable, hard to get in and out. We're active mid-70's travelers. Young adults and kids seemed to have no issue with them but that furniture is a one reason we'll not be back. The rooms were nice but the bedding was below standards of most hotels. Our best nights sleep came on our return where we stayed overnight at a Comfort Inn. Much, much better.

and no entertainment in the evenings
