About this cottage rental
Welcome to our beautiful cottage, The Gray Lady, at Point Prim. Our Canada Select, 3 1/2 Star, beautifully decorated home on three waterfront acres, offers you a private, peaceful retreat overlooking Northumberland Strait. The tide goes WAY out on the South Shore of the Island - great for kids to go exploring for critters and beautiful shells in the warn tidal pools left by the receding water and easily accessed by full stairs leading from the backyard.
Our classic country cottage features a cozy open concept living room with comfortable traditional furnishings. The garden door leads out to our wide front farmers’ covered porch, where you can watch eagles soar over the water, or see seals playing in the surf. The well equipped kitchen provides everything you need to cook your fresh local seafood and seasonal fruits and vegetables. On the main level, we have a bedroom with queen sized bed and the spacious bathroom across the hall has a tub / shower combination, full sized laundry and a linen / supply closet.
Upstairs has two more bedrooms and a family bathroom. The queen sized bedroom includes a quiet sitting area. The other upstairs bedroom has a full bed and a single bed. Both bedrooms offer long views of the ocean.
Enjoy exploring the beach or an evening walk to Point Prim Lighthouse for gorgeous sunsets. Point Prim is also a wonderful place to ride bicycles, with views at every turn. The award winning restaurant, The Chowder House, is just a short walk down the road - not many rural Island cottages can claim “walking distance” to the local restaurant and beach bar! A short stroll in the other direction reveals “Crow In The Sky” craft shop and a take out snack / dairy bar run by local residents.
Along the Points East Coastal Drive, you will enjoy visiting nearby Provincial Parks on your way to Murray Harbour, one of the prettiest historic fishing villages on the East Coast. We are about an hour’s drive up the coast to Basin Head Provincial Park, where you will enjoy the white silica beach at ‘Singing Sands.’ Brackley Beach , with its towering dunes and white sand, is in the National Park - just an hour’s drive. The Grey Lady is just a forty minute drive to Charlottetown and the International Airport.
If you are looking for peace and relaxation, you will find no better place than The Gray Lady!

An amazing stay and location!

Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Kids spent hours one day just hanging out on the rocks and sand at low tide building cairns and watching a nearby seal. Proximity to the chowder house was fantastic… great food right on the water there. Had to watch out for the mosquitos when the wind died down, but with a breeze they weren’t too bad. Definitely a great location with beautiful sunrises on the deck or from upper bedroom windows.

The Grey Lady is an excellent base for exploring the island's eastern half. Point Primm is a 6-mile (10 km) long slender point that stretches down from the TCH. The property is right where the pavement ends, with views, tides and wildlife are mesmerizing. There were no worries enjoying a cocktail while our 6 yo daughter chased hermit crabs on the sandflats at low tide.... and the moon! Time your trip right and the full moon rises square off the back porch.
Visitor notes:
- The internet is slow. Don't plan on high-quality streaming
- The mosquitos are vicious. Bring bug spray or be prepared to go down to the sand, where they disappear.
- Keep an eye out for wildlife and say hello to the 2 seals, Sunny and Sweetie
- Be prepared to eat in on Monday - Wednesday and eat early on other days. Local food options tend to be closed early in the week and everything closes early.
- If you have a road bike, bring it. The roads in the area are wonderful and uncrowded.
We had a great time and will visit some of the other Dean's List properties in the future.

Right on the beach, perfect place for little ones and grown ups alike to explore. Good location to explore the area, beautiful shops everywhere. Nice house, lots of room for everyone.

Perfect island getaway. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Days spent exploring the ocean floor and walks for icecream. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves and cool breeze.

Beautiful beach house on the south shore. Beach house is very accommodating & has a brilliant covered porch. Cedar shake siding is a classic look, super relaxing vibes. Beach has a little something for everyone, beach combing at low tide or swimming at high tide. Good combo of smooth rock, sand, and red bluffs. Great beach for littles: warm water, calm surf and shallow drop off. Super close to Point Prim Chowder House + Lighthouse. The Grey Lady is a real beauty. xo

Ww loved The Grey Lady. We stayed over a weekend when we attended the Sommo Festival. Everything we needed. We especially loved morning coffee on the front porch, overlooking the Northumberland Strait.

We couldn't have asked for a better location. On the water, off the beaten track, 15min walk to the famous Point Prim Chowder House and Lighthouse, we'll-equipped and good-sized kitchen, perfect porch for lazing (we brought a hammock;)...
Stunning views, especially from upstairs bedrooms. High tides, low tides...I could not recommend the Gray Lady more.

Great place to stay with an amazing view!
This location had exactly what my family and I needed. It's a quiet location, right on the water where we could explore the beach during low tide. The lighthouse down the road was worth the visit and the chowder house had great food. Wifi is pretty slow but that got the kids to somewhat disconnect while we were there. The house was clean and well laid out. Would happily stay again.

Great Stay
This property was our first week of a two week stay on PEI. The Grey Lady was great. It had everything we needed, was very private, and had steps down to the water. Check out the Chowder House at the end of Point Prim. It's very close and the outside view is great if the weather permits. Cooper's Store is back on the main road and provides a variety of grocery items plus fuel. This property was far enough out of the way to be private, but close enough if you needed basic supplies. Great house and location.

The Grey Lady is a hidden gem on beautiful PEI
The location exceeded expectations! Steps from the ocean, steps down to the beach and very private. From the covered porch we watched eagles soar, great blue herons fish, and seals frolic.
The house was spotless and the manager very responsive during our stay. We have stayed at a handful of places on PEI. This is our favorite! The acclaimed Chowder House is within walking distance and a must eat! The best seafood on PEI. The oldest lighthouse on PEI is right around the corner. The sea breeze and gentle waves lulled us to sleep every night. I would highly recommend this rental.

Amazing home base to explore the island!!
We could not have picked a better home for our vacation! The house was comfortable and cozy, and had the most amazing view! It was a gorgeous, secluded location that seemed almost unrivaled as we toured the island. Our "beach" was the highlight of every day -- at higher tide, we loved to walk the rocks, skip stones and even take a dip in the water. At low tide, we had amazing adventures and discoveries every day. There is a plethora of sea life to discover and pick up! From starfish, moon snails, crabs, hermit crabs and snails, to live scallops, mussels and clams... we found it all. So many shells as well. There were seals swimming off shore, and bald eagles flying overhead. It really couldn't be beat. It was a great base for day trips elsewhere, also. Only an hour up to the National Park, beaches, etc, and we found little gems down by the house as well... the view from the top of the lighthouse on Prim Point was beautiful, the restaurant there is top notch too. Gorgeous views if you get to eat outside! And the Orwell Historic Village was so fun! Small and laid back, we loved it. Also, the Red and White market was had lots of farmstand produce for cooking. Super convenient to have nearby! Absolutely amazing house!!!
For those that will be cooking - the kitchen is stocked with lots of spices for cooking (a rarity and much appreciated!!), and all the pans you could need. But be aware that the knives are a little dull. If they are sharpened, then the kitchen is perfect!!!

Perfect vacation spot!
The house is beautiful, right on the beach. And a short walk to the Point Prim Lighthouse and the best restaurant on the island, Point Prim Chowder House! We enjoyed watching the seals from the porch, along with blue heron... and finding star fish and sea glass at low tide.
