About this house rental

Relax in this well appointed two bedroom, two bath home tucked in the Boreal Forest on the Lake Michigan shore in the heart of the quiet side of Door County. The home is located about 6 miles (10 minutes) from Baileys Harbor, 9 miles (15 minutes) from Sister Bay or Ephraim and 14 miles (20 minutes) from Fish Creek. The home is conveniently located near many restaurants, shops, hiking trails, parks and other local attractions.

Outside, enjoy the view from the benches or hammocks along the shoreline, or while sitting on the large deck at the front of the house. Or maybe roast marshmallows around the campfire. With a little luck, you might see a pelican, a bald eagle, a pileated woodpecker, or a seagull dive for a fish. A two-person kayak and two paddle boards are included to explore the lake. If you just want to cool off in the lake, make sure to bring your water shoes; the bedrock beach is rocky.

The open great room features large patio doors and windows looking out to the Cana Island lighthouse and Lake Michigan. The patio doors open onto a large deck bordering the front of the home. On cool nights, enjoy the wood burning fireplace too! The couch, oversized chair and other seating provide ample seating for conversation or watching a movie on the 55" flat screen TV with a variety of streaming services or the Blu-Ray player. The couch and oversized chair convert to a queen and single bed if you need. These pullout beds are comfortable - really; no springs or support bars to stick into your back! There is a large cabinet that holds a wide selection of games, puzzles, movies, and books.

Adjoining the great room is the dining area with a table seating six comfortably.

The dining area opens into a fully equipped kitchen; electric oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and all the equipment you might need. A charcoal grill is available for barbecuing as well (charcoal and lighter fluid supplied).

Two bedrooms. Each with a queen bed and ample storage in the built-in closet storage system. The beds have Casper mattresses. Pillows and bedding are supplied.

One bedroom connects to a full bath with a tub and shower. The second bath has a shower with plenty of cabinet space. Towels and washcloths are supplied.

Our first family vacation as a family of 4. The house was very clean and cozy. We loved being nestled in the trees and at the same time having a stunning view of the lake and Cana Island Lighthouse. Steve and Amy are wonderful hosts, thank you both so much! We will definitely be back.

My wife and I were very happy with our stay. Our adult son and his girlfriend joined us for the weekend. We had the best time and enjoyed the door county area. I would highly recommend this home for a great getaway. I would love to return in the future.

What a great weekend! We really appreciated the extra floor rugs for our shoes, heated floor title, and the bistro set for a late afternoon meal. My husband loved the wood carrier tote, and that the home had a good internet connection It really showed that hosts put a lot of thought into how the rental would be used. Steve & Amy are awesome. It's such a cozy place to stay. Minutes from Cana Lighthouse for a tour, birds bobbing in the waves for their meals, and gorgeous sunrises. This was exactly what we were hoping for! Truly a gem.

The property everything I expected and more. I have never seen a rental house so well stocked with everyday essentials. Not only toiletries, but a full spice rack, laundry detergent, tape, scissors, stacks of firewood for the backyard fire pit, citronella candles for the deck, they really thought of everything. My mother and I stayed for a week in early May and loved it. The mayflies were particularly thick on the peninsula this year, but the citronella candles at the house were a lifesaver and we were still able to enjoy the beautiful deck and shoreline views.

Loved our stay at the Boreal Beach house! The property has everything we needed including a very well equipped kitchen. The house was extremely clean. The heated floors were a nice touch too for a late November stay. Loved being able to use the fireplace and the firetable on the deck. If you want to roast hotdogs and s'mores there is even an awesome fire pit out back. Would love to come when the weather is warmer and sit on the amazing wrap around porch. You get the best of both worlds at this property - the woods and the water. Absolutely magical property. Would definitely love to stay again. Nice relaxing retreat.

Such a hidden gem in the woods! Great views of the bay and the Cana Island lighthouse. We appreciated that the house was fully stocked and we didn't need to bring much. We enjoyed the day out in Egg Harbor and Fish Creek and the night in by the fireplace playing games (so many games, books and movies provided in the house). We hope to make this an annual tradition.

Awesome view of the lake just steps from deck, we over packed a little bit, no need to bring anything but food, clothes and personal hygiene items. The house has literally everything and more, very pretty, cozy, clean, quiet. We definitely enjoyed our time here and will come back! Highly recommended.

Our stay was so busy yet so relaxing! Listening to the lake was everyone’s favorite, but then adding in the view of the light house made it even more fabulous! Perfect sized house for two couples. The house has a well appointed kitchen - everything you could need! Plenty of fire wood was available for fires inside and out plus the gas fire pit was perfect for those damp, rainy days. It was spotless upon arrival including the white carpet. The artwork and garden art was so fun to explore. Great location for getting the off the beaten path feel yet close enough to all the Door County shops, restaurants and vibes. Loved this house!

This is a beautiful property in an incredible setting. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to be sitting in the living room and viewing the lake and nearby lighthouse. We enjoyed exploring the peninsula and the ferry to Washington Island. So many great places to explore, shop, and eat. We especially enjoyed the fish boil in Ephraim.

I don’t think there’s a better view in Door County! What an absolutely gorgeous property. It was so beautiful, peaceful, and just perfect. We absolutely loved it here and can’t wait to come back. I joked this property has ruined me and I’ll never be able to stay anywhere else on the peninsula. Highly recommend!

Hands down our first choice for Door County stays. Prime location surrounded by cedars a few feet from Lake Michigan shore, Cana Lighthouse in constant view, and surfers when the waves are right. We're always sorry to leave.

We hiked, entertained friends, explored Door County and loved the changing water view. Some days the waves were large, other days the water was smooth for kayaking and swimming. Always it was entertaining. The cabin was lovely, clean and very well equipped.

This is an amazing property on the quiet side of the peninsula. You cannot beat the view. Sunrise and sunset are amazing. The property is very well equipped and clean. We loved the fire pit, kayaking, the view from the benches. The sound of the waves were just what we wanted for a relaxing vacation. We will definitely be back!!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boreal Beach House. My wife and kids loved taking the paddle boards and kayaks out on the lake. Very private with spectacular views of Lake Michigan and the Cana Island Lighthouse. The house is comfortable and well-appointed with all that we needed for a delightful week in Door County. Great location and a memorable week for our family. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was our 3rd visit to Boreal Beach House. It is predictably a 5 star stay for us. We are so comfortable there we think of it as our summertime home. Perfect size for two couples. Kitchen appliances have been upgraded since the photos so that was a plus. Kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need and more. Views are amazing! Beds were comfortable. Internet worked great. We felt bad walking in and out constantly on the white carpet in the living room. Could use a step or two off the deck for easier access to the firepit and water but that's just nitpicking. Lots of firewood on site was another nice bonus. Overall A+ property!

I just returned from 4 days in this beautiful home. Pictures really do not do this place justice, inside or out. It was a fabulous experience. Very clean. My sister and I slept on the pullouts and they were very comfortable. Thanks for letting us borrow your place for a bit, Steve and Amy! I do plan on a return visit soon!

The pictures do not do this house justice. The house was very clean! No issues with checking in or out. The rock beach was great for the kiddos. They explored it for as long as they could “before they got cold”. The host was very helpful. The internet went out and I messaged Steve and he replied in a matter of minutes!! Great service!! Again over all amazing experience, trying to figure out when to come back in the warmer months.
