We had a wonderful time! We came from California to see the solar eclipse and chose to stay away from Dallas. Gun Barrel City just sounded like such a unique spot. The town and its surrounding area had everything we needed.
We love this house! The owner, Mike, was easy to work with. As soon as we walked in, we felt at home. We sat on the top deck above the boat house to watch the eclipse. What a wonderful spot for watching spectacular sunsets also.
When the weather turned rainy, we sat at the huge picture windows (sliding glass doors) and watched the thunder and lightning show. The backyard also provided a nature show with squirrels, variety of birds and the occasional big fishes jumping in the lake.
We all agreed this would be a great house to rent with kids. This house is a great place to make happy everlasting memories for children and adults. All of us felt so comfortable and relaxed. We are thinking of ways to come back!

gun barrel city trip
boat lift was only for owner. unusual spring regional windiness made it impossible to keep boat at the dock. wind took out internet and downed parts of front yard tree (damaging visitor's car). the house functionally was fine, beds great. Mr. Kapp was available readily.

Nice house, but could use some TLC
Overall it's a nice house, but does have some issues. When you arrive make sure to have something to remove the spiders that surround the front and back doors. We had people with us that are afraid of spiders so that shook them up. Once you get that issue under control it's a nice place with good fishing of the dock.

We really enjoyed this house.
We all enjoyed are stay on Cedar Creek lake. The house was in a perfect location. The kids caught a lot of fish off the dock and out on the boat. Will defiantly stay here again.

Fun
We had a great time the inside of the house is nice other than the white carpet being at a lake house is not a great idea the outside definitely needs updating the dock has boards that need to be re-nailed down could use a lot more lighting most of the lights did not work outside could’ve used some mowing and a lot of the brush picked up around the house but otherwise had a fun stay just really need some upkeep on the outside and the dock and maybe change the carpet outAnd make sure all the lights outside work

Labor Day Weekend Get Away
We rented this property to enjoy our boat and jet ski with our teenagers for Labor Day Weekend. The owner was quick to respond about any questions or concerns. The exterior of the home needed a good cleaning and updated. I spent the first thirty minutes knocking down cob webs off the front porch and back porch. The back yard had trash and empty cans I had to clean up as well. The interior of the home was clean and all the basic amenities were there. The ice machine was an added bonus. The boat dock was in good condition and fishing was great right there from the pier. Overall, we enjoyed our time and stay.

Lake life
This property really needs some insect control. We couldn't use the sliding door off the family room or the front door due to all of the spider webs and bugs flying around.

Perfect calm spot
We had a great time with plenty of room to roam in the backyard or on the dock. The mortal kombat console was a great addition to play inside!!! We also had great luck catfishing every night off of the dock! Swimming was amazing since all the adults were able to stand in the water at shoulder/chest high with no rocks/debris to step on. Overall a great place to house a good sized group and have fun on the lake! No need for a TV, enjoy the lake or make up some games to play! If that doesn't work... then there is still great wifi.

This was the perfect weekend getaway at the lake. Comfortable house, great views, and good fishing!
Ou family had a great weekend at the lake. House was clean and stocked with all we needed. We spent most of our time on the dock fishing and swimming, but the house was a great spot to cool off! We loved being on the open water of the lake and the views were awesome. Also located close to town so we could make a quick trip if we needed something. We are definitely rebooking this property!

Great Location
The check in process was smooth, however, the lockbox is very difficult to open. There are many aspects of the house that need to be cleaned and organized. There was stuff all over the garage including trash and empty boxes. The inside had many personal belongings every where including toothbrushes on the bathroom counters and shoes on the patio and by the door. The bunkbeds were very wobbly. The carpet had multiple stains including some that looked like animal pee. Also, this property has no tvs which is fine until it is storming and raining all day long. They had games but most if not all were missing pieces.

Awesome lakefront stay!
We came with my family of four for a weekend getaway and to get “outside” and experience some fun, with everything going on in the world today. We had already one bad experience the prior weekend with a homeowner randomly cancelling our reservation without cause, so we were initially reluctant to book again. But this lakefront house was beautiful! We woke up each morning with the beautiful sunrise over the lake and literally, right out the back door. If you have a boat, it’s definitely worth bringing to this property! I would say the only thing that wasn’t mentioned, is there is NO televisions in this house at all, and if you have younger kids who may need to be entertained in the evening or need a break from the sun this may be important to you as it was to us. It wasn’t a deal breaker, just wish we knew so we would have come prepared with tablets or something is all. Other than that everything was perfect! Thanks so much Mike!
