Tout le monde était super gentil, l’hôtel était parfait !
Super vacances !!
Beaucoup de marches dans l’espace de l’hôtel, peu accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite.

It’s hard to choose one thing that I enjoyed. The staff were extreme friendly, always greeting us with a smile and a happy ‘Jambo!’. The location was superb. I can highly recommend staying in a beach villa because the ocean is your backyard - perfect for that proper holiday feeling. The food was also superb and exceeded expectations! There was so much to choose from at the buffet, from pastas, to soups, fresh fruits and vegetables and meat dishes. The vegetarian curry was the best I’ve ever had and people with different dietary requirements will not be disappointed. The hotel offers various themed nights with local music and performances. There is also a tour desk should you feel the urge to explore Zanzibar a bit more with a private company - this is really helpful for those who like to live more spontaneously. I would love to have stayed longer!
The turn down service one night did start later than I would have liked - I think housekeeping only got to our room at 9:30pm. However, they were really prompt. Also, the beach boys were a bit of a nuisance. (Although I know they have nothing to do with the hotel, they are in close proximity and struggle to take ‘no’ for an answer). I noticed that they would sometimes talk to girls who were alone and that was not comfortable. The security could be a little bit more aware of that - just to make guests feel more safe (especially females).

The staff were great, the location was amazing
The food was repeated daily , seemed like the leftovers were recycled to the next meal or day

The Hotel was very nice and also the staff was very nice and friendly. The food was amazing and also the activities and the shows in the evening were very good.
The security team, who were responsible for security at night, were very intrusive. Especially if you travel alone.

We really had a great stay at Mapenzi Beach Resort. Staff was always very kind, very authentic and open-hearted.
Menu was very rich in variety and very delicious. Live barbecue every day, delicious pasta, salads and local food.
We had a beach villa first row at the beach, which was beautiful.
We made several trips, snorkeling, dolphins, reef tour and safari - which can easily be booked at the hotel (way more expensive) or at the very kind local sales people at the beach, which will arrange whatever you wish.
We always felt very safe with the professional and kind security team.
Apana Sante, Mapenzi.
Hakuna Matata.
Music at lunch an dinner should be changed.

Breakfast was fine, in general "western" type food the view was great. As an added bonus the local chef prepared off the menu food as did the Sri Lankan chef which was fantastic, most enjoyable.

the location of the property was amazing and access to the beach was exceptional. it was well maintained
We planned a one night stay but it was quite disappointing. Our room’s AC was not working and we realized it at night when we were trying to sleep. We called the receptionist to see if we can get this situation fixed and they said they would send someone over. At this point, it was 1 AM and there was no solution. The staff was adamant that the AC works and even though there was no ventilation in the room and we asked to turn that fan on, they said it was for decoration. We told them, that we need another room to sleep in because there is no way we can sleep 3 of us in one room with no AC. They took their time to get us into a different room where we could finally get some sleep. the next day, They didn’t offer any incentives until we asked because it’s important to get our moneys worth of our vacation.

beach was not the best due to tide.

Everything was great, the resort looks better than in pictures. For us what stood out was the food, best food out of any other 5 star resort we stayed at. The italian chef did wonders, the fruits were amazing, the desserts were amazing. As a fan of panna cotta I ate here better panna cotta than in Italy.
Beach boys (local people on the public beach, not on the resorts private beach, trying to sell you all sorts of stuff) a little intrusive but it didn’t really change our perspective of the vacation.

Except that it is well preserved beach and pool facilities. The hotel is one of a kind of its unique management and staff. They are all ultra friendly. And after a few days spending in the hotel, you feel yourself at home. It is very much convenient specially for the families travelling with kids. The hotel its own beach, under the beautiful palms. All the green is very well maintained and kept, which gives you much more pleasure while you are relaxing.
It is really nothing:) All very very good.

All inclusive package was good value for money, we really enjoyed the buffet offerings. As an added bonus as honeymooners we could enjoy dining under the stars where we had giant prawns.
The room furniture is really old and I think it is due for an upgrade.

Clean and spacious bedrooms with comfy mattress. Nice location if you’re looking for some relax away from the busier areas of Zanzibar. Helpful staff and very nice facilities. The buffet changes daily so it’s never boring to eat there.
Way too many beach boys basically just staring at you and waiting for you to step out of the private hotel beach to approach you and offer to walk you around or take you to tours. I felt quite uncomfortable as I was sunbathing in my bikini. Not nice to have a bunch of people staring at you.
Another point is that the hotel staff, which is super helpful and kind, can be a bit intrusive at times.

Every property was excellent
The staffs were so kind and friendly
They talked to us for every moment we had any trouble without calling them.
They always kindly greeted us like “Mambo”, which was so nice and made us happy.
Information of aqua sports or marine sports like JET SKI and DIVING are always available. Some staffs are professional for guiding those activities and we can enjoy them without any reservations in advance.

Excellent food all around. Good variety and mostly healthy and fresh. The char grilled fish and octopus was a standout as were the desserts. Special mention for the Pumpkin curry and the fish and coconut curry (all made by the lovely Sri Lankan chef, Victor). Another especial mention to the animation team, who do their best to be fun but not intrusive: Hassan, Said and Rachel (the child carer and yoga instructor) were exemplary.
The pillows. And that was it.

+ Location.

+ Beach.
+ All Inclusive plan.
+ Resorts decoration and rooms from outside.
- Pool’s tiles makes it look very old and not pleasing to swim in.
