Hogs Head Golf Course
Overlooking the magistic Ballinskelligs Bay and set among natural megalithic stonework and indigenous Bog Deal, there can be few places more visually stunning locations for a golf course than Hogs Head.

Kathleen was the perfect host and her holiday home was honestly incredible. So much space and light with beautiful views from every window.
Kathleen was so accommodating when we had to add an extra guest to the party and came over to talk us through everything.
The location is brilliant for exploring the Skelligs and this beautiful part of the Kerry ring
All in all, it was all just standout brilliant and my only regret is that we weren't staying another week!

Our host was gracious and accessible. The location was gorgeous with privacy but easy access to our daily activities. Great hot water and water pressure. Kitchen very well appointed. Incredibly comfortable seating in the living area. Wonderful stay.

What can I say, an absolutely gorgeous house and what a view!!
The house exceeded our expectations- we travel with 2 wheelchair users and often struggle but this house was perfect for us. Kathleen was very quick at responding to our messages and extremely helpful with all our queries.
The local area was full of friendly people and so very beautiful.
I would 100% recommend this place for a perfect holiday, we all would love to go again

We have fallen in love with Waterville, the (very blessed to live there) locals, the absolutely incredible Lake House (as we now call it), it’s stunning views and most especially our hosts, Kathleen and Timmy. And, we can’t forget to mention their darling dog, Freddie.
What I was looking for in a house was a peat burning fire, location, views, and near a village. This is me….my husband also loved the spacious house, not that I didn’t. Timmy made certain we had plenty of peat. He even rescued a sheep that got stuck in a fence in a neighbor’s pasture that we noticed and let him know. Kathleen made sure all our needs were taken care of.
They went above and beyond making our stay incredible. So many adjectives, I know…..but well deserved!
Please say hello to Dan and Fiona, the owners of our favorite pub, Mick O’Dwyers.
We miss everyone already! We WILL be back!

Secluded house with amazing views of Lough Currane; plenty of room and parking. Everything we needed was in the house. Wonderful to sit outside and picnic over the lough and then watch the sunsets late into the evening.
Waterville a short drive away to shops, bars, restaurants and beach. We loved our stay there.

Sheep bleat peacefully in the field below, rabbits meander across the lawn, the view of the loch is entrancing from Lake House on Lake Road.
Ireland treated us to warm, dry weather so we trekked Kerry Way, Skellig Bay, and the Cliffs of Kerry enjoying the emerald green hills and azure blue seas. Do you know that cows come trotting if you sing to them?
Waterville County Kerry, not to be confused with the other nearby Waterville County Limerick, would seem to be “far from the madding crowd” in southwest County Kerry, but as a popular tourist stop on the Ring of Kerry, it provides both little breakfast nooks and evening fine dining. If the local grocery doesn’t meet your needs (it did ours) bigger towns and bigger stores are not far.
Just two of us, we rattled around in the big house, but enjoyed the front room with an expansive view north to the loch, morning sun rays on the clouds to the right and stunning sunsets to the left. Living in always-beautiful Southern California, we looked forward to traditional cold-windy-rainy Irish weather and the peat fueled fireplace to provide a cozy spot to read and sip Red Breast Irish whiskey. But, sadly, the only rain we saw was driving back to Dublin, so we never lit the fire.
Someone wrote that if they’d had more time they could have made their letter shorter, and that’s true of this review, too. Truth is, idyllic says it all.

If you want quiet, yet gorgeous views, proximity to the town of Waterville, the beach and Hogs Head area, this house can’t be beat. Spacious rooms, big kitchen, and the most responsive host of all. We will return, thank you for sharing this comfortable home with us!!

We had everything we needed and more! When I enquired about a barbecue Kathleen and Timmy brought over a huge gas barbecue which worked perfectly for a family meal. I would highly recommend this house for a family like ours with teens

The house is set in a fabulous location just outside of Waterville with beautiful views of the lake and sunsets. It is very spacious, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our family holiday. I would say the photos do not do it justice. Communication with Kathleen was excellent and she was very welcoming on arrival and when we were leaving. As a family of 8, with 3 generations from 10 to 70 years we would highly recommend this holiday home and hope to return next year!

Great House
We rented the house for a week long golf outing in Ireland. The property is ideally located with several outstanding golf courses within an hours drive. Waterville offers good restaurants and pubs. The house was perfect. A great place for our needs. Kathleen met us when we arrived and was more than helpful. I would highly recommend staying at this property for your visit to the Ring Of Kerry.

Beautiful residence in a beautiful location
We had six adult travelers all needing their own space. This was the perfect house for us. Plenty of room to spread out and four private bedrooms. The house was immaculate and the location could not have been better with perfect views of the lake. We loved the place!

Superb house in a great location
We enjoyed a superb week during September in Waterville.
While the remnants of Tropical Storm Helene came through on the Sunday, followed by Storm Ali later in the week, we simply added some more peat to the fireplace in the living room and kept warm!
The house is well equipped and very large - for two people, we simply lived downstairs and for bigger groups it must be a great place to spend time together.
Kathleen was always available to answer our questions and we really appreciated her hospitality.
The surrounding countryside is stunning, whether on the coast or inland towards the highest mountain range in Ireland.
A special place for a very memorable holiday!

Exceeds expectations!
Kathleen’s property is beyond 5-star and the photos don’t do it justice. Her beautiful home sits well above Lough Currane, with views in all directions. If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet retreat, then this is your place. It sits just a couple of miles off the Ring of Kerry, so you get the solitude of location, but the proximity to the small, bustling sea village of Waterville. Kathleen is the perfect host who communicates immediately and is there if you have any questions. She has stocked the house with all of the essentials and is happy to furnish additional firewood and peat. Truly an idyllic spot!!

Beautiful views in a great location
This property was perfect for my family and I to visit the Ring of Kerry and Skellig Michael. It was a great jumping off point, and the views were stunning. Everything in the house was clean, and Kathleen was more than accommodating, even providing us some recommendations. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again!

This house is an amazing property!! The view is unbelievable it’s private and the owner was so easy to work with. The area is beautiful and has some nice places to shop and eat. The house is comfortable clean and spacious. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. I doubt you can find better house or owner!! Thank you for your hospitality.

Stunning
With its elevated, commanding view of Lough Currane, the house could have been a thatched-roof shack and it still would have been a treat. But the house too was stunning. Modern, spacious, comfortable. Could not have been better. Thanks Kathleen!

The house is a relatively recent new build with the most incredible view over a beautiful lough.
We stayed for 1 week at this house and used it as a base for touring the area. It is close to the village of Waterville but not within walking distance. Waterville itself has several restaurants and pubs as well as a small supermarket on the outskirts. The village is on the Ring of Kerry road so is quite busy with tour coaches. We stayed at the end of September so the tourist season was just coming to a close. I imagine it would be very busy during the summer months.
Kathleen's house is spacious, light and airy. It has a well equipped kitchen and utility room. The bedrooms are large and comfortable with lots of storage space.
We really enjoyed the beautiful view from the living room.
I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

2017 September Family Vacation
Beautiful surroundings in a very peaceful setting. Close to town and restaurants. Our favorite was Dooley's. Kathleen and Tim were very helpful in filling us in on local places to eat and visit. The home was very clean and accommodating. Our stay of 4 days was far too short to take advantage of some local hiking in the immediate neighborhood.

Extraordinary home to enjoy the extraordinary views
We spent four days in this home and could not have been more comfortable . The house is huge with plenty of space for a large group. The kitchen is very well stocked and we really enjoyed cooking our evening meals here. The view from every single window was mesmerizing. Sometime we had to force ourselves to go out and see the local sights, rather than just enjoying the change scenery as light , wind, rain and sun moved across the vista. This home is perfectly situated - thank you so much Kathleen!

Waterville home on Ring of Kerry
This home (and its owners) are deserving of the highest possible recommendation. The home itself is spectacular -- impeccably maintained, spacious, comfortable and remarkably affordable. The home has an excellent kitchen, spacious living areas and great (and numerous) full bathrooms. The location of the home is perfect for exploring the Ring of Kerry (it is actually on the Ring of Kerry), Dingle Peninsula, the island of Valencia and the Skellig islands. The house is the perfect launching point for exploring Kerry County and, at the same time, a perfect destination unto itself -- kick back, relax and enjoy the amazing views. Finally, Kathleen is a great hostess..friendly, informative, accessible, responsive. Everything you could ask for in a hostess.

This is a large, modern, beautiful home overlooking the lake in Waterville. Spacious, comfortable, and close to the town center. We would definitely stay here again.

One month in a paradise of peace and quiet .
The property was ideal for us, it is very well equipped, location is ideal at 5 minutes from Waterville, the view from the house is WOW!!
We stay all september 2016 in the house and everything was perfect.
Our host Kathleen is very nice and easy to communicate with.We had no issue with the house , the fireplace was perfect and the kitchen has everything one need just like home.
There is very good trecking in the Kerryway nearby with fantastic view along sheep path in the surrounding mountains. There are a lot of golf course in an hour from the house . Ideally located to visit the ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. The house is at 41/2hours to Dublin if you like to see the book of Kells and some great museum.
The property and surrounding are better in real than the photos!
Highly recommended, do not hesitate, it is a first class property.

Wonderful
This house was everything we had hoped it would be; well equipped, spacious and well away from the hustle and bustle. The house is situated off a quiet road, with fantastic views across the lake. The house was very clean and tidy and is huge - there's even a play room for the children. Plenty of parking for several cars. The owners were very helpful and had even baked a Bakewell Tart for our arrival - a lovely touch. We were in a group with three young children, and so walking into Waterville itself was not an option for us. However, parking in Waterville is free and we had no problem finding a space. We will be returning.
Things we did:-
Hired a boat from the B&B that's just a short walk away - 55 Euro for the day and we were able to explore the lake. We moored up on Church Island and had a picnic.
Visited Derrynane beach - great blue flag beach with lifeguard. Gently sloping, sandy beach with free parking. A short walk away is Derrynane House with lovely gardens and a reasonably priced cafe.
Drove around the Skellig RIng - stopped off at the chocolate factory (which wasn't as impressive as we thought it would be, but nice chocolate). Parked up at the cliffs and had a walk up the mountain to view the Skelligs.
Went horse riding at Kerry Equestrian Centre - would highly recommend this place if you fancy a trek. Lovely people. We are not riders, and were given a short lesson and then a trek. Total time just over an hour, cost 35 Euro per adult, 25 Euro per child.
Some nice cafes and pubs at Cahersiveen. Also a supermarket here, though there are a couple of smaller ones in Waterville too.
Nice beach off the R567 near Annaghkeenty, but be careful where you go into the water if you want to swim here. We pretty much had the whole thing to ourselves and had great fun flying kites.
Walked along part of the Kerry Way - fantastic landscapes.
We visited The Lobster in Waterville for lunch and were not particularly impressed. Its a bit of a school canteen but food was adequate. I understand that their evening meals are better but we did not try.

Our Family Vacation
There are no words to describe the overwhelming beauty you wake up too each morning when looking out the window of this home. It was a disappointing moment when my family knew next day we would have to travel back home to Georgia. We had not a single criticism other than it is a little difficult to find the home when arriving for the 1st time. The home has all the benefits of modern living, but delivers on the Irish experience. If we could return each year, there would be no reason to consider other properties. If there were 6 Stars, we'd give it 6 Stars. As I type this review all I can think about is how we return....quickly!

Fantastic House with everything you will need
This house is fantastic and the views overlooking the lake from the front of the house are amazing , the photos on the internet do not do it justice. We were a party of 7 and the house was huge more than adequate for all of us. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need to allow you to cook in. The location is great and we were able to explore the area easily. We had a great time and would highly recommend the property. Hopefully we will be back in the near future.
