About this house rental

Enjoy all the pleasures of this spacious, quiet and delightful canal house in the centre of The Hague’s city life. A central location, on the most beautiful canal of The Hague, also known as 'Avenue Culinair' due to the many charming high quality restaurants situated here. The city centre and the international train station can be reached within a five minute walk. Numerous shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafes are just around the corner. All this makes the house a unique place to stay.

The picturesque ground floor apartment is very tastefully furnished including a sofa bed for one extra guest or two small children, piano, flat screen TV, fridge, washer and dryer, iron and coffee maker. The apartment also has a spacious kitchen including a dishwasher, a bathroom with a rainshower and a separate toilet. Then there is a roomy bedroom with lots of cupboard space that opens out onto the little patio where you can sit when the weather is nice. A gorgeous and comfortable home.

This apartment is an ideal expat apartment since all facilities required for making your life comfortable during your stay in The Netherlands are provided. The apartment breathes a delightful Dutch atmosphere, which makes you feel at home straight away.

The Neighbourhood
For centuries, this neighbourhood is the home and workplace of many artists and free spirits. The house where the philosopher Spinoza lived is just around the corner. Three master painters of the Golden Age, Paulus Potter, Jan van Goyen and Jan Steen lived and worked from the Dunne Bierkade (opposite the apartment), the place where beer was delivered into the city. You can still enjoy a beer here, cosy establishments can be found along the old routes of the canal boats, with appropriate names like De Pakschuit or De Paas. The canals and old avenues are being restored more and more. You can embark on a boot cruise of The Hague or the neighbouring municipalities. Those who like to discover on their own can hire canoes and explore the waterways themselves.

Transport
A 5-minute walk from the international train station. By tram or train you are within 20 minutes by the sea, 15 minutes in Delft, 25 minutes in Rotterdam and 50 minutes in Amsterdam. Not only a perfect location for your visit to The Hague, but also a great base for visiting The Netherlands. Almost everything is a 10-minute walk away, all trams and buses stop in the immediate vicinity. Nearby you can also rent a bike. The Peace Palace is a 10-minute bike ride and Scheveningen beach is just 20 minutes away.

Within 5 minutes you will be in the shopping area and in 10 minutes at the King's work palace, the government buildings (Binnenhof), Mauritshuis, Escher Museum, the antique market at the Lange Voorhout (every Sunday). Do not forget to look at The Hague town hall (architect Richard Meier) commonly referred to as the Ice Palace, which also houses the public library and tourist information. And do not forget to go for a drink in Bleyenberg's rooftop bar, a cafe restaurant with spectacular views over the city.

Marjan & Dino are friendly and accessible hosts. We were welcomed at the property on our arrival. The apartment is situated on the bottom floor of an old canal house in a historic street. It is close to the HS train station, the tram stop and the bus stop. It is easy to walk to central Den Haag with all it has to offer. The public transport makes it easy to explore the surrounding area and even the beaches.

Overall quite good. The location is fantastic and the suite was well equipped. Several lights were burned out but apart from that it was enjoyable.
