Beautiful house with original furnishings in a quiet area, with many various sights nearby.
Communication (only online) with Antonio was very good.
We liked the things to do list!

Overall a very nice stay. Nice sized house with a good layout for a big family. The location was great for exploring the whole area. It is a long walk into Sintra so a ride is pretty much necessary but Ubers are everywhere.

Antonio, the host, was friendly and very helpful. The villa gave us everything we wanted, it is spacious, very clean and extremely well equipped for our 3 generations. We loved the pool, especially the grandchildren who were reluctant to get out! The gardens were beautiful and a great place for hide and seek.
It is ideally located for all the Sintra historic sites and the local beaches could be easily reached by car. The lanes and footpaths are great for walking and running, especially if you wanted to leave the car at home. There is a grocery store, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance and would particularly recommend Cantinho do Picadeiro. We would certainly stay there again.

We loved the villa, the pool and the garden. And the view! Fantastic area too! So easy to go to so many interesting places. Antonio was a perfect host - very helpful. All in all a perfect stay.

We stayed comfortably and happily with our family from Germany. The was plenty of space for the eight of us to sleep and in fact, the house sleeps more. The rooms were clean, the pool was nice, and the kitchen well-stocked. A great value for the price we paid, and a short cars-drive away from the local tourist spots.

A well equipped villa with everything you need. Pool was heated and comfortable for dipping in and out.

We had a pleasant stay in Sintra. Despite some bad luck at the start (no running water on the first day due to unexpected maintenance work in the neighbourhood and a broken pool heater), we had a lovely week. The house is a good place from which to organise trips into Sintra, Lisbon and to the beach. Surprisingly few wasps, which was a concern due to allergies. Only real tip for improvement would be the beds, as some of us did not sleep very well on these matrasses.

This is one of the most beautiful properties I have stayed in. The house is equipped with literally everything you need.
The Internet speed here is very good.
The house was kept extremely clean by the cleaner that came in once a week (very friendly lady).
Unfortunately, the issues that we had was that the House was extremely damp.
Due to the microclimate of the area. The bed always felt damp and the smell of the damp on the bed was pretty horrific. Truth be said, I don't think anything can be done about this.
If you are going to stay at this property, it is critical for you to have your own vehicle or transport. Taxi service will not come out to this area for some reason. It was a nightmare trying to get a taxi.
The bus service is good in this area, however, It's always very overcrowded.
The tram looked like a wonderful way of seeing the area. But again, the tram was always packed and we could never get on.
Another big problem that we faced as a family was the mosquitoes. By the second night, everybody in my family had been stung by mosquitoes. Don't forget to take mosquito repellent and fly spray.
The outside areas, specially paving and steps going to up to the House, could have been better maintained. As there was lots of loose tiles. Unfortunately, I did have a bad fall on one of these steps going up to the house.
Is best to avoid the gardener I didn't find him friendly and the quality of his work was not very good. Every time he left the swimming pool was covered with debris and grass cutting.
Finally. The next door neighbour has three large dogs that continuously bark throughout the whole day. This can be a problem if you're trying to sleep in.
Enjoy your trip if you're going there.

Spacious Accomodation
Great place for multiple-person stay! There is the main house which has a big bath, and one of the three bedrooms in the house has its own bath/toilet. Then there are two other little separately locking spaces outside of the main house with bathrooms/showers for your other guests privacy. Laundry room on site was also great for our longer stay. The kitchen is a bit antiquated - you have to light the cook-top with a match - but served us well.
Access to regional attractions was great! You can see one of the Sintra Castles from out the front window, although I think it was a bit far to walk to. Short drive to local beaches and Portela de Sintra train station for trips to Lisbon and such; would not recommend using main Sintra station due to lack of parking and crowding in town.
Overall, a great location for an extended visit!

This is a perfect family house that is fully equipped inside and out. Great layout, kitchen, bathrooms, family and dining rooms, bedrooms, heated pool, ping pong table, washer and dryer, baby crib and the list goes on. Lots of space indoors and around the outside of the house and pool. Antonio was very nice and helpful. The house was cleaned while we were there. The cleaning woman was very good, kind and ensured we had everything for our grandson (baby). We hiked, partially up a secluded path near the house, to Sintra, Quinta da Regaleira and the Moorish castle - 17km up and back including time spent at each location, but well worth the effort. There is a nice restaurant very close to the house by the equestrian park. The beaches are a short drive away - Praia Grande and others - and Cascais is not too far away either. We would definitely like to come back to this house. Thanks Antonio.

Convenient hub to explore Sintra region
The house is located in a nice quiet neighborhood short drive from historic Sintra and few nearby beaches. Has a little grocery store and restaurants walking distance away, though they don't show up while looking on Google maps.
House is well equipped with everything needed for a large family to be as comfortable as at home. We also appreciated weekly housekeeping services, which made everything even more relaxing.

I spent there whole January and found villa very functionally designed and practical. It was a good place for remote working and spare time. The location is very good, access is easy everywhere. Warm recommendations. Tapani

Loving it in Portugal
This casa in Galamares is a great place to stay for visiting Sintra and the surrounding area. Communication with owner António was timely and the information he provided was helpful-especially regarding the use of Uber as an easy and economical way to get around. Accommodation was just as we expected from the posted descriptions. -and the house is equipped with everything from paper goods to batteries for remotes.
We enjoyed our stay thoroughly..

We had two lovely weeks in this excellent villa which accommodated nine of us very comfortably. We were looked after very well by a delightful Marilia who could not do enough for us. The area is very interesting and kept our party of mixed ages happily occupied. I can not recommend this villa highly enough.

Lovely Villa for a family holiday
The villa felt like a home from home in beautiful Sintra and it had everything we needed for a family holiday. There were some issues with the main bathroom, but that didn’t detract from the whole experience as Antonio was quick in getting it sorted. Already hoping to book again next year.

Beautiful villa, excellent location
The villa is well equipped and very clean. The views across to the Palacio de Montserrate are just glorious. We stayed in November so didn’t use the pool but loved having breakfast on the balcony terrace overlooking the valley. The area is full of things to do - we especially liked the gardens at Montserrate and of course the Atlantic coast is utterly stunning. The owner is extremely helpful, friendly and speaks perfect English - we had a really enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

Great for families; lots of room!
The house is as Antonio described. It is perfect for families with kids. There is a lot of space for kids to play and the garden is lovely. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of dish and flatware. Antonio was very helpful including cleaning midweek. Also it was cold and rainy while we were there but room heaters got the space cozy when we turned them on.

Amazing
We stood there for 10 days. We have 6 kids and they all loved the home, the pool as well as the yard. Our oldest stood in the guest house and he loved having his "own" home. The cleaning lady was very pleasant and left everything spotless. We highly recommend this villa. We will consider staying there again if we return.

Second time around! Amazing home and location.
This was our second time at this villa, last time was 9 years ago for may Mom and Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Home is even better now with all the comforts of home. Antonio once again was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating with arrival times and fixing TV reception. This is a lovely location for a family get together. We held my Mother-in-law's 90th Birthday celebration there and cooked and entertained approx. 30 people. We were blessed with wonderful sunshine and were able to use the outdoor grill. Everyone enjoyed the comfort provided by the home and easy access.
Thanks, once again Antonio, looking forward to coming back again and this time with less time span in between. May be even one of the coming summers. Cheers

Perfect base for exploring the area
My wife and I met in Portugal and dated in the Sintra area, so this was a real trip down memory lane, 20 years later.
It was a fabulous house - plenty of bedrooms, a great living room with views over to the Sintra hills and the Palacio de Monserrate. The rooms are spread out over the property, which gave some members of our extended family independence and a place to hang out, as well as plenty of places to get together, like the awesome outdoor eating area.
For the last 4 days, we stayed with friends who have 5 kids - we have two, so the house had 11 and handled it just fine. Everyone loved the pool (when we weren't out and about at the local beaches).
The best reason to come here, though is the location. The village of Galamares was quiet and felt not like the touristy areas of Cascais and Estoril (which we loved by the way!). There is a great cafe and a wonderful local restaurant 5 minutes walk from the house. We loved walking the neighborhood after dinner.
The location is quiet, but close to a lot of great stuff - Cascais and Estoril about 15-20 minutes drive, some great beaches only 15 minutes away (our favorite was the Praia da Adraga but we visited 3), Cabo Da Roca (the most westerly point of mainland Europe) only 20 minutes away and of course Sintra just a few minutes drive away. There is so much to see in the area we needed and loved 2 weeks in this area.
This house was so fun to stay in and we hope to get back one day.
4.8
A really nice and well-functioning house.
We - a family of three generations and eleven persons - spent a wonderful week in Sintra. The house easily accomodated our large family. All was clean and neat. The kids, in particular, enjoyed the heated pool. Sintra and the surroundings is a pearl - lots of culture and an amazing nature.
Just two minor suggestions for improvments: The waste-pipe in the guest house is undersized and the double matress in one of the bedrooms needs to be replaced.
