Everything was remarkably good. Premises, location, view, food, service, and management staff were all outstanding. Made me feel thoroughly at home!
In the context of all this excellence and high value, I see it as a detail that I found the bed too firm for my taste.

Unique Villa that feels small, comfortable and personal. The most personalized attention I have ever had from a hotel.
Nothing really.

You actually live in a palace !!! The big bonus is the peaceful gardens and spectacular views.
This is a luxury boutique hotel with only 9 rooms that gave an opportunity to meet and make new friends.
We loved the "happy hour" of 6:30 pm and the peaceful atmosphere at breakfast.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, but very young, and some of them lack experience (or guidance ...)
On arrival, we did not receive any explanation about schedules (about the happy hour I knew from reading reviews), where is the pool? What are the rules and hours of operation.
One day they asked us what we wanted for breakfast - we got the majority, the next day they did not ask and served a little less. The truth is that it was possible to ask and I'm sure they would do anything to satisfy us, but I expect a hotel at such a level that they will not fail in basic things.
The basic infrastructure is amazing but ... the guy who led me to the room did not know where the room is
More care should be taken with cleanliness (hairs stuck to the shower wall) and on maintenance (water that does not stop flowing in the toilet and sewage that does not drain enough shower water so very quickly you just stand Inside a puddle)

The hotel is tranquil with fabulous gardens which were very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We liked the drink and fado recital. The room was spacious and the port, fruit and cakes were a nice touch.
Nothing. Everything was great.

The pool would need some maintenance

The staff was incredible. All was great. They have beautiful gardens and facilities are modern with a touch of historical decor, super clean, and beautiful. The happy our is the best- great wine, cheese, bread, great quality cold cuts. Everything was delicious and complementary. The room overlooks the amazing view of the city and the Costelo of Mouros. If tou want to enjoy the pool, it is awesome and also has sparkling wine- complementary. All rooms have a theme- ours was the Pena palace. Beautiful decor, comfortable and simply amazing. I would strongly recommend this place. On top of all these features… location is superb

internet and wifi were down

Everything was fabulous. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The scenery was beautiful. The location was peaceful but easy walking distance to restaurants and the train station. The breakfasts and wine and cheese receptions with and without entertainment were outstanding. We felt very spoiled during our visit.
The lock on the door of the building with the four additional room’s wasn’t working properly. It took us a couple days to figure out how to get it to work seamlessly.
The Uber drivers had trouble finding the hotel. Probably because it was a hidden gem!

The garden room we had was basically a separate bungalow type of accommodation, with a large bedroom, a super bathroom and small sitting area outside the front door. Fresh fruit and a small decanter of local wine were provided every night to the room. Most evenings the hotel puts on a free wine and cheese evening with entertainment for about one hour which was very sociable and good fun. The hotel gardens are quite extensive and give a short pleasant walk. No on site restaurant but Sintra is a short walk with loads of good places to eat.
Staff were very helpful and most polite - recommending places to visit and booking restaurants in Sintra.
The peacocks which roam around the site are pretty to look at but a nuisance when they start calling out at sunrise in the morning!

The hotel was beautiful and the grounds. The complimentary drinks hour was delightful. The views are spectacular. Staff very accommodating .
Having to order breakfast in advance

Our one day in Sintra turned out to be unfortunately cold, soggy, and foggy; however, we didn't even mind because it gave us an excuse to hang out and indulge in the opulence that was our room. We stayed in the Deluxe Room- very spacious and luxurious. There is a clawfoot bath tub in the room itself (with a well-placed view of the tv), while the bathroom (toilet and sink) is actually in its own smaller, separate room. We did not get a chance to stay in a room with the attached terrace; however, I can't imagine anything else making the room more perfect than a little terrace or balcony. The property was just as gorgeous as the room with a perfect view of the Castelo dos Mouros and hills of Sintra on the back patio that leads down to a lovely walking path through trees and gardens. Diogo and the other staff we met were extremely accommodating, helpful, and very hard-working. Breakfast is abundant and includes a wide variety of appealing and tasty options made to order. If you want to relax while feeling like royalty for a night or few, this is your place.
Only recommendation is to introduce more peacocks to the property as they add a very special touch to the experience. The ones that are there can use more friends. :)

We have travelled all around the world but this is the only place we have come back to several times.
The staff is exceptional, probably one of the reason we keep coming back every year.
I can’t think of anything I don’t like.

I wanted to move in here. Was soooo sad to leave. The grounds, rooms, entire place was beautiful with breathtaking views of the moorish castle at night. Staff was wonderful. So accommodating. Loved wine time at 6pm. They put out a tremendous spread and they were so generous.

Nice location, very pretty grounds. Staff were helpful and friendly
Did not have a shower. Only a marble tub in the middle of the room which was nice but not practical for daily bathing

Very beautiful and luxury hotel, amazing view and design, at the evening there was a complimentary wine tasting, wonderful breakfast, great service.
The road to the property is under construction, so we wasn’t able to get there by the car. There was no door the bathroom/toilet, it was separated by a curtain.
