The cottage was absolutely perfect for our party of 12 & our host mrs joyce was absolutely lovley. Check in & out was very easy and the property itself very easy to find even though its out in the beautiful countryside

For a family of 7, 2 young and 3 older kids and a dog it catered to all of us. It was brilliant 10/10!

There were ten of us (6 adults and 4 children) and we thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend together. There was plenty of space, comfortable bedrooms and everything one would expect to find in a property of this size. The outdoor games, the pool and the indoor games room were all great favourites with the children.

As a family we enjoyed our weekend stay in this exceptional cottage. Within easy traveling distance of places of interest and country walks. The pool added considerably to our enjoyment.

Arrived at 15:30 and was shown around the property.
Very clean and well maintained house
Loved the pool, hot tub(perhaps a little too much chlorine) and games room, as gave everyone something to do throughout the weekend. The group especially loved the dance machine, pool table and basketball game
Garden was big enough to play outdoor games
Plenty of bed availability downside to that was number of bathrooms only 3 available and 2 en suite.
There was a shower and toilet in games room though which we didn’t use.
Would definitely recommend and we hope to return in the future

This property is outstanding! We are a family of 11 and it suited each one of us perfectly for 2 nights. There’s enough to do around the house in any weather. The pool was a highlight for us all. As was the pool table and basket ball game. Although you do have to pay for this. The garden is really maintained beautifully. We had nice weather to enjoy the patio.
Kitchen was well equipped to feed us all. The rooms were comfortable, everyone slept well, and the master on suite shower just lovely! Recommend this to anyone wanting a break with family or friends. Made a birthday really special.
Taxi companies did find an issue with locating the property, so would book these in advance if needed.

We had a wonderful time. The pool and hot tub a big hit. Games room great but some games not working. If you have kids, Roves Farm very nearby a must. The property was perfect for our needs.

Had a fantastic weekend with a group of friends. The house was perfect for us to spend time together

Fabulous property that looks even better than the photos in real life! The open plan set up of the main living area was ideal for 12 of us to spend time together, and the pool house and games room were perfect for entertaining our mixed age group (from 2 to 72!). Host was very responsive - we had an issue with the freezer which he came to fix immediately. One thing to be aware of is the kitchen floorboards are quite creaky for the bedrooms below so I'd say best to stay with a group with similar waking times. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay; would recommend Stanton Park and Roves Farm to visit close by too.

We had an amazing three day stay at this property. It was absolutely perfect for my 70th birthday family celebration. With ages ranging from 8 years to 73 years there was something for everyone. The pool was a balmy 32°, hot tub at 35°, and large enough for all 10 of us to swim or play.
The gaming room was a huge hit for all of us, and we had an on-going dance machine, and basket ball challenge over the weekend.
The house space was very comfortable and very well served with plenty of DVDs for every age. 'Better than Netflix' said one of my granddaughters!
The kitchen area was sizeable, and had an extremely good range of implements. The American style fridge freezer ensured we got the whole weekend food supplies stored easily.
And wonderful to use the washer and drier to keep on top of swimming stuff.
We didn't get a chance to light the open fire - disappointingly the weather was too good and too warm! 😂
All in all we would highly recommend this property, it was a real find!

We had a fabulous weekend here for a big family get together. The games room and pool really made a difference. The outlook was lovely and we were fortunate enough to see deer in the field opposite.
The kitchen was well appointed although I would say to future guests that we had to go and get a few basics (rolling pin, scales, foil, salt, washing up liquid, kitchen spray).
There was no mobile reception in the area so our only criticism would be that the WiFi was poor and would drop out for hours at a time.
We had a fabulous time though and would definitely stay here again.

Great holiday property. We have 3-74 years in our family group, all had great time in this holiday. This is the first holiday (6 nights) in my life(so far) that I do not need to look for/ book other activities for my kids to do. They enjoy the indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi very much. Swimming pool is at right size, not just a big bath tub that you might find in other holiday property. Game room is a plus as well.
Very clean inside and outside in huge big garden.
Customer service is A++. Very easy approachable property manager and home owner from booking to the end of the holiday.
Seriously, if I need to pick one thing to give negative comment is that we need a good coffee macine. But who would care about coffee on a holiday :).
Thanks so much for managing such a great property. We will be back in the summer.

This is a lovely house with excellent facilities. We chose this property because it has the wheelchair accessibility sign. 28 year old Darren is confined to a wheelchair with advanced Friedreich’s Ataxia. He can’t walk unaided. I contacted the property when booking to find out more about wheelchair accessibility. I was told that previous wheelchair users didn’t have any problems but we were expected to carry the wheelchair upstairs to the living accommodation.
We struggled to carry the wheelchair up to the first floor and decided it would be too difficult to try again. When Darren was on the first floor he couldn’t access the bathroom to go to the toilet. The whole experience was very stressful for him. Darren and the rest of the family decided it would be too difficult for him to stay in the house. He went home late that evening with his parents.
It spoilt the weekend as we were planning a 70th birthday family celebration with all the family present.
£4286.80 was a lot of money to pay for our disappointing family celebration.

What a fab house, everything you need is there. We hosted a murder mystery night "murder at the manor" and what a great setting for it. The girls had such a great time. Very clean and well equipped house - the photos and description don't do it enough justice :)

Great house, pool and games room, a few hiccups ie, wifi and hot tub but on the whole very good thanks

Amazing place, everyone that came was very impressed, we only wished we booked a week instead of a weekend! Got good use of the games room and pool. The main lounge and kitchen area is very spacious, and is well thought out for the 12 occupants.
Would definitely consider Ashdene Cottage again for family or friends or Both!
The only side note, I found Google maps listing for Ashdene cottage is spot on, the other listings for Ashdene on Google maps only get you near by, but not exactly the right location.

Fabulous property, facilities great. The grandchildren loved the pool and games room as did their parents. They all want to go back so no higher praise.

Really easy to rent and questions answered very quickly. Lovely, well maintained house. Heated pool and jacuzzi were perfect. We confirmed that it was suitable for 14 people. It is better suited for 12 adults if all wanting their own bed in a bedroom. Also a bit of a squeeze around the dinning table and lounger area. The advertised cinema room is no longer available. Unfortunately it was taken out 2 years ago as people weren’t using it. I’m sure not a problem for many, but we were disappointed as some of our entertainment was based around using it. It is now a full games room and perfect for entertaining children.Would have rated 4 1/2 stars if an option, 5 stars if it wasn’t for the above. Definitely recommend it!
