We were a group of 7 staying (4 adults, 3 children) for 3 nights. The cottage had everything we could need. There are 2 bedrooms perfectly set up for kids with the other 2 for adults. The bathrooms were decent and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need and more, although some cupboard space to store our food would have been nice. The outdoor dining space was very peaceful and pretty although a little overlooked.
The estate is beautiful and the cottage is very close to the activity hub, spa, pool, tennis courts, playgrounds and restaurant. Table tennis and tennis equipment hire was very cheap but be quick to book the tennis courts as by the time we went to book they were fully booked for the week!
A couple of pointers for others staying on the estate:
- The spa is wonderful! Two of us went for a head massage which was reasonably priced and very relaxing - highly recommend!
- The pool is fantastic. It was the highlight of the trip for our kids.
- The restaurant / bar has good quality food & drinks but we found the service to be painfully slow. We went for lunch when we arrived, there were only 2 other tables eating and we waited over half an hour for each course. Make sure you book if you want to have dinner there. We’d recommend The Bakers Arms pub, a 15 min walk away. Great food, great service and there’s a pizza oven in the garden.
- We found that the on site shop was severely lacking in basics so make sure to bring everything with you!

My family of 4 adults stayed here. It did not disappoint! Tim & Victoria are perfect hosts and the communication is great. They provide a lot of useful info to plan and stay at their home.. even have an app & book. Although they tried very hard to explain where to park to drop off our things, we failed...but it's ok. Once you found the home, it was easy after that. They left many goodies to enjoy. Thank you! Their kitchen is well-stocked and has a Nespresso machine with a milk frother. I loved the frother so much I just bought one for our home. They provided many coffee capsules to start you off. I haven't used a Nespresso machine before but after googling it I was on my way! The electrical outlets have on/off switches so if the appliance isn't working check to make sure the switch is on. The wifi was great. There are only clipper outlets in the bathroom so I used the outlet in the bunkbed room in front of the mirror for drying & curling my hair. We used the dishwasher, washer/dryer with no problems (Soap goes in the double bar section of washer). We ate at the Ballihoo restaurant our first night..yummy. They have a small store there to pick up food supplies. Had a massage & facial at the spa..so relaxing. Enjoyed the Half Day Rally Experience @ Cotswold Driving Experiences..so fun! 10-course dinner with Dine Indulge at their home..worth it! We rented an electric car, charging station only a few min away and FREE. It is so beautiful there..highly recommmend!

Lovely half term week
Lovely cottage. We were a bit jealous of the bigger newer properties overlooking the lake but the cottage was perfect for us.

The host was so friendly and helpful. The house was well equipped although a little small for 8.
We had a lovely time here it’s on beautiful grounds, walks round the lakes and other facilities gives you plenty to do, highly recommend the sunset safari they do on a Saturday. All in all lovely house and area to visit

Lower Mill estate is great for families - lots of activities and space to run around! The cottage is well equipped - sadly not as great a view as some of the other properties at Lower Mill, but in a charming corner nevertheless. The owners are very proactive with communication and very responsive to requests.

Spent a week here with my family and the cottage had everything you could possibly need, was spotlessly clean and had great facilities onsite.
Tim and Vanessa couldn’t have been more helpful from the minute we booked until checkout. Would highly recommend

Super facilities
We had a lovely few days at Cornerstone. The facilities onsite kept our children entertained and we visited some lovely places in the Cotswolds using Cornerstone as a base.

. The house is charming and well-equipped - good bathrooms and showers - but we didn’t really feel it was suitable for eight adults - four adults and four children max. Bike and canoe hire v pricey! Good stay but we felt very overlooked and crammed in. The impression given was of lots of space but the estate is very developed. Spa and pools excellent

Cotswolds experience with the Girls
The property was in a lovely location, convenient and easy to access all the facilities which were great! From Cycling to swimming, paddle boarding , picnicking, as well as a lovely private chef experience in the property. The property was bit smaller than seen in the pics, we did expect only one bunk bed room , but there was two, but probably we did not read the info correctly, the hosts and owners were fantastic!

Excellent stay
We had an excellent time at Lower Mill Estate. Cornerstone cottage is absolutely lovely, comfortable and perfect for 2 families with kids. Its right next to the perfectly heated pool, tennis court, hire a bike/kayak/canoe and Somerford lagoon (where we went canoeing). Would highly recommend it. Thank you Tim & Venessa.

Very clean, pleasant and a happy place to be.
Our stay was wonderful from the moment we booked it to the moment we left. Everything we needed had been thought of and was readily available. Even the things we hadn’t thought of. The cottage was charming, clean and very well equipped. The instructions sent to us by the owners were so detailed and helpful. We will definitely return.

Amazing Easter break with the family
We had such a wonderful stay at cornerstone cottage. There was so much to do for the kids and adults. Tim and Vanessa made us so very welcome and were so helpful to all our needs. I can’t wait to book again for the summer - this is going to be our go-to UK holiday for sure. Would 100% recommend to families.

cornerstone
Fantastic communications and instructions from all sides both pre and during stay which made it stress free. Lovely clean home in wonderful location for a family break - walking distance to swimming, tennis, kayaking, bike hire, bird hides and so much more all weekend! You need 3/4 days minimum to even scratch the surface of what is on offer and you leave totally energised!

Highly recommend for a relaxing family break
The cottage is lovely with everything you could need and a gorgeous decking area. The estate has fantastic facilities with two brilliant outdoor pools as well as sauna, steam, water sports, football pitch, tennis and some gorgeous walks. The onsite restaurant is really good and the local pub is nice too. Be sure to bring enough food or have your order delivered as the onsite shop is limited. It really was the ideal place for a family weekend for people from 70-7. Would return again and again!

Perfect place for a family weekend
Came for a family birthday with ages ranging from 70 to 7 and it was perfect for everyone. The house is lovely, the Normans provided excellent communication, the facilities are gorgeous and the location is great with a really good restaurant on site and a lovely local pub in the village. Highly recommend

Stunning location, we've found a new home from home
What a stunningly hospitable cottage, we love every minute. It really felt like a home away from home. Extremely comfortable and everything you need to have a relaxing stay and rest yourself. Spa facilities are amazing and we all utilised the gym, pool, steam room, and sauna each morning as part of our 'routine'! We also had a fantastic evening with our DineIndulge experience. The courses were perfect and delicious . The local area too provided a peaceful serenity for contemplation and relaxation as well as great local pubs and walks. We can't wait to come back!

The Perfect Retreat
Once again we had the most wonderful week at Cornerstone Cottage. The cottage itself is so charming and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Our 16 month old daughter adored visiting the ducks from the patio every morning. The peace and tranquility of the cottage location is just incredible. The Spa is outstanding, having recently been renovated and is just a few minutes walk away. We keep coming back to Cornerstone and have loved it every time. Thank you Tim and Vanessa Norman

Great Accommodation
Great location and great accommodation. Everything you need.

Location, Location, Location and wonderful property.
Thank you Tim and Vanessa!!!!
After a lazy Christmas, our new year stay at Cornerstone was the perfect start to 2019. The property really is set up to make the most of your stay and the surrounding area is beautiful. Avid Geocache explorers we found 25 caches during our stay. If the children had any steam left, we used the football pitch and tennis courts. (If you want to use the 4G pitch - don’t forget to book in advance.)
When the parents needed to recuperate the spa was a stone throw away and/or just throw a few logs on the fire and get cosy!
All in all, 2 families of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) had a wonderful refreshing time.
Would we go back.... absolutely!

A lovely property in an idyllic Cotswolds location
Whilst Cornerstone is not one of the more luxurious properties on the lower mill estate, what it lacks in ostentatiousness it makes up for in homeliness. The owners are clearly very warm, generous people and it always feels like you are staying in their home. Cornerstone cottage doesn’t feel like a faceless business but friends letting you rent their place. Cosy, practical and very clean we’ve been back a number of times as it suits the needs of two families with kids perfectly and has the facilities we need in a holiday home along with some surprise extras which are the icing on the cake. Thank you so much Tim and Vanessa we love our regular visits to Cornerstone.

Cornerstone cottage is a lovely property and perfect for a getaway where you are seeking relaxation and tranquality. It was clean and inviting and Tim was exceptionally helpful before our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend Cornerstone!

We came to Cornerstone for our 1st and 2nd Wedding Anniversary and it has been so special to celebrate and relax here. The house is so quaint and welcoming, and the hosts do such a great a job of preparing the house for us. We had everything we needed for a restful stay, and the spa and swimming was just brilliant. SO thrilled with our stay and really hope to come back again.
Many thanks!
Rich and Rach

Lower Mill estate is very handily located for all the Cotswolds Water Park has to offer. The cottage was attractively presented and very clean. Would happily stay there again.

We stayed for a week with a second family so in total we had four teenage boys. The house was verry well equipped and in the main clean and tidy. We self catered for five of the seven evenings we stayed and found that the kitchen was well able to cope with amount of food we produced. Our only observations which would have enhanced our stay were that whilst there were plenty of glasses in the house they consisted of small tunblers and full pint glasses. You might consider purchasing a set of eght highball glasses to cater for the majority of drinks required. Another thing would be to check the quality of the cleaning of the house. In the main it appeared clean and tidy but on the occasion of us leaving and checking each room, for items the boys in particular left behind, we found that under the three living room sofas was a thick layer of dust as well as a number of plastic toy pieces. In the bedrooms used by the boys we found further dust as well as items of baby clothing and more plastic toys.
These comments in no way detracted from our holiday and with all the activities in and around the lakes and swimming pools we all had a very nice break. Thank you.

The property has a kitchen which is well equipped. The owners and the caretakers were very helpful and the bottle of prosecco in the fridge was a nice touch.
There is no shortage of bathrooms.
On the downside I would say that the living area is a bit small for 8 people. This was noticeable when the weather was bad (we unfortunately had very mixed weather)
The lack of storage also proved to be a bit of problem. Nowhere to put shoes in the hallway and no wardrobes in the two bedrooms with bunkbeds plus nowhere to put sports equipment such as tennis racquets, balls etc. The one cupboard that could have been useful to us was locked for storing cleaning stuff for the cleaners!
4.8
The Cornerstone cottage was wonderfully equipped with everything we needed and the location within the resort was really close to everything we explored. It had four bedrooms, three and 1/2 baths and enough beds to sleep 8 comfortably. The grounds were lovely and peaceful with many pools, a restaurant and spa, which we walked through. The couple who rented us the cottage were excellent to deal with, even with my many questions and our late check out on Monday morning. We were in the area for a wedding which took up most of our time, otherwise we would have rented a canoe to go on the lake to enjoy the area more and possibly the spa.
Tim and Vanessa - thank you for a lovely stay at your cottage and for the bottle of prosecco my family was impressed.
