Town end barn is a lovely holiday cottage. It is in a small village that is perfect for exploring the Manifold Valley and the hills of the southern peak district. The barn is clean, spacious and great for families. The setting is wonderful and we’d love to come back when the weather is warmer! Overall, a great stay. Thanks.

Town End Barn is in a relaxing, peaceful location at the outskirts of the small village of Warslow. Hartington is a short drive away, there is plenty of walking on the doorstep and a local pub a 10-minute walk away.
It is a beautiful spot, set in gorgeous grounds, with plenty of outdoor seating and beautiful views. The owners' property is close by and help and recommendations happily given - thank you Michelle - but privacy is always respected.
The barn is clean and well equipped. The upstairs living room, accessed via a spiral staircase, is a particularly lovely space to relax. Comfortable and spacious. Its access (and the upstairs bedroom) is through the downstairs bedroom so the barn may not be appropriate for two couples.
The kitchen is well equipped, adjoined by a small dining area. Laundry and drying facilities in a well equipped utility room.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely part of the world and relaxing, comfortable barn.

I cannot say enough about our hosts! Michelle and Tim were both nearby and very friendly- among the most accommodating we've known. Thank you both for your kindness.
Town End Cottage (rightly named) provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay plus privacy and views galore from the private garden!
The only down side we found was the spiral staircase, although I think the downside was our age. A person who finds staircases a challenge anyway can sometimes have more difficulty with spirals. That may just be me, but do keep it in mind if anyone in your party has that trouble as the sitting room is upstairs. That said, the difficulty never kept either of us from doing what we wanted to do.
By the same token we also found that we're a bit out of shape for the hiking the Peaks are famous for. However, driving through the Peaks and the shorter, less challenging walks were wonderful and made our stay all the more memorable.
Thank you again, Michelle and Tim. You have a beautiful spot on earth!

We stayed for 3 nights over New Year 2022. I stayed with my partner and 1 year old and it was so well suited for us. Michelle was amazing at communication, really quick responses etc and she asked where we would like the travel cot put up. She advised me on good places to eat and directions to local places. All very useful. In addition to this, there is lots of info in the cottage. The layout of the cottage is really good, as we found the open plan layout upstairs a great open space and actually think it would work well if staying with children.
We found the cottage cosy and well equipped however felt like a cosy blanket would have also been nice on the sofas. Apart from that, I think the cottage had everything you would need.
We loved the fire and spent our evenings playing games in front of it. It was very cosy. Michelle provides a bucket of logs, which did burn out very quickly and we did buy some more from the little grocery shop in Hartington to accommodate our three night stay.
Walks locally are great, it was very wet and muddy when we stayed so we didn’t get very far from the cottage itself, however ventured down to the little bridge at the bottom of the field. We also explored Dovedale, and Wetton Mill on our travels.
We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully return again sometime soon.

Beautiful barn conversion surrounded by immaculately kept stunning gardens with uninterrupted views of the rolling countryside. A sunny or shady spot for any time of the day. A number of walks from the doorstep. Everything you need to self cater and very clean. Village pub serving good food a 10 minute walk, but make sure you book! Upstairs lounge and bedroom has access to the kitchen through the downstairs twin bedroom. Everything very cosy and comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Lovely Cottage in a Beautiful Corner of the World
Roomy cottage in lovingly maintained gardens, surrounded by beautiful countryside and a myriad of great walks. We chose to cater for ourselves on each of our four nights as the kitchen was so well equipped. Michelle and Tim were superbly friendly and helpful both before our arrival and throughout our stay.

A Cosy Barn in the Staffordshire Peak District
Our stay was just not long enough in this lovely barn conversion which is in easy driving distance of many of the Peak District trails and amenities. The barn had everything we needed including a cosy wood burner to warm us after our autumn walks and cycle rides. Tim our host was very helpful but our stay at the barn was still very secluded and private. We would recommend staying here.

Wonderful Peak District holiday
We had a fabulous week staying here in Warslow - the barn was clean, comfortable and spacious.
One day we went for a walk on the Manifold trail that led right back to the barn garden, one day we cycled the Monsal Trail, another day we had a family rock climbing lesson by Burbage North, the walk from Monyash along Lathkill Dale was lovely (and the ice cream at Tagg Lane dairy was delicious). All in all we had a wonderful week. Thank you!

Tranquil place to recharge the batteries!
Great location, away from it all, which is exactly what we were looking for. The property was exceptionally clean and well equipped. Michelle responded to our requests in a timely manner. Lovely areas to sit outside and soak up the fresh air and views. Walks from the door and within close enough range for visits to NT Biddulph, The Potteries and the Cascade Gardens in addition to the usual Peak District countryside, villages and towns. Lovely property and area.

A heavenly family holiday in Peak District
We enjoyed everything: the hosts being welcoming, helpful and almost “invisible”; the breathtaking views at the step of our door - the blossoming immaculate garden around the house which extends into picturesque Peak District fields all the way to the horizon! WiFi was good, those of us who had work to do, did not complain. The nearby pub was good, a short walk away. Various hiking trails and tourist attractions were all a short drive away, plenty of walking could also be done with no car at all. The house is beautifully authentic, very well kept, sparkling clean, comfortable. The shower is great, bed is great! Washing machine and dryer help if you prefer to pack lightly. Overall, ideal for a family with two kids. May not work equally well for two couples due to to specific rooms layout, though also possible.

Although we knew this location was a bit remote, we didn’t realise quite how much it was.
This is a very nice property in a lovely setting, very peaceful & relaxing.

Amazing view and clean and cozy cottage
When we drove up to the cottage, we fell instantly in love with the view. It’s a remarkable setting and the gardens were stunning. The cottage was sparkling clean and warm. There were logs and kindling, milk, tea, coffee, provided. And, when Michelle met my four-year-old, she provided some puzzles and books-which was fabulous for the two rainy afternoons we were there. The nearby town of Hartington has a great cheese shop and we got ice creams (as well as other provisions) at the farm shop and ate by the duck pond. We spent a morning roaming through Biddolph Gardens which was beautiful this time of year. Highly recommend this place. Michelle was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable!

Peaceful getaway!
The cottage was beautiful and quirky. The upstairs living area, where we spent most our time, was spacious and clean. The sofa’s were really comfortable and the room felt warm (especially when we put the log burner on). Michelle, the host was really welcoming. She gave us great instructions upon arriving and was on hand for our whole trip (she just lives a 20 second walk away). We were a little noisy, especially at night, but it was fine because the cottage was remote.
Top tip: when finding the cottage using the sat nav or google maps, search the whole address that Michelle sends, not just the postcode or you’ll be wondering around for 20 minutes with no cell reception like me.

Very nice stay in a peaceful area !
The cottage is lovely, very cosy. The area is peaceful and this is the perfect location if you need to disconnect.
Michelle was super helpful and flexible (as we had to leave when government announced a last minute lockdown). She was super reactive to requests/emails. The cottage was very clean and the only regret we had is that we had to leave after 3 days because of government’s guidelines!

Spacious and Comfortable hideaway in the Heart of White Peak
Town End Barn is a delightful place to stay, we highly recommend it. It is well appointed property with the best part being a large open living room where we could relax together as a family in the evenings. Perfectly located to explore the White Peak area with stunning walks from the doorstep. Can't wait to stay again.

Flawless stay
LOVED this place- very well-maintained, clean, and cozy. The beams and skylights on the top floor were delightful. The surrounding area is gorgeous and very relaxing. You can walk down a path right near the barn or just sit outside and enjoy your coffee. All in all, it was a wonderful escape from the city.

Lovely place away from it all
We had a great stay just before Christmas. The house is quite quirky with the kitchen and 2nd bedroom downstairs and the living room and master bedroom upstairs but it suited us fine. The upstairs has a beautiful vaulted ceiling and feels very spacious yet cosy with the wood burning fire. And the Christmas tree made it feel very festive. Would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Perfect cottage in the Manifold Valley
We spent a lovely couple of days here and will definitely be back. The cottage is beautifully presented with a light spacious living room on the first floor. It’s in a perfect spot, with just a few passing ramblers for company. Thank you Michelle!

lovely peaceful house and setting
We had a wonderful few days at this quiet country retreat, at the foot of the dales.
Clean comfortable accommodation, ten minutes walk from a good village pub - we had an excellent evening meal there.
Highly recommended.

Beautiful, quiet and very well appointed.
We travelled as a family of 4, two adults and two teenager girls. The cottage was perfect, a nice size and very well appointed. The rooms were all a good size, very clean and very tidy. Having 2 en-suites is great for families. The views are stunning and it’s position made for a very relaxing break. The owners were very friendly and full of local knowledge, the local pub was just a few hundred yards away too.
Highly recommended by all of the family.
