Exceptional service from a wonderful team of staff. Exceeding my expectations at every interaction.

Absaloutly faultless, The best hotel and Spa we have stayed in, everything about it was amazing đâ¤ď¸

Always friendly, welcoming staff & love the location / setting.
Itâs starting to look tired & dated (& not in a good way) in some places & could do with a revamp. Steam room didnât seem to be working whilst one of the saunas way too hot (burnt feet going in & out!) - staff made aware. Also I think charging an extra ÂŁ25 for a mere 90 minutes use of the âadditionalâ spa facilities isnât worth it.

put simply, this is the best hotel in the Northeast of England...everything about it is head and shoulders above everywhere else... and we do a fair few hotels (every 2-3 weeks on average), the staff are amazing, the food is also - the hotel never rests on it's laurels, always looking to improve, and it does everytime we visit :)
breakfast sausage could have maybe been cooked a bit longer :D

everything is was fabulous
it was quite expensive and it was extra to go outside in the spa
5.0
beautiful parkland setting and sympathetic renovation/ redecoration of the interior.
nothing to dislike really, although walking across to the golf clubhouse in the rain as the only dinner option wasnât great. to be fair, a minibus transfer was an option, but we chose not to wait for that.

perfect place for the perfect over night stay and spa treatment for my Husbands Birthday, just what the doctor ordered
gorgous grounds, sensational spa and treatment, fabulous food
2.5
the grounds where nice
we where told we had to leave the bar/lounge area at 7:30 because we had our 5 year old with us which I find ridiculous. he was just sat watching his iPad. I asked the staff why and they said they where sorry but itâs what they have been told. I asked for a manager and he was really polite and basically said it was above his pay grade. I asked if there was a policy and he said no itâs just what heâs been toldâŚ.I could understand 9pm but 7:30 is just silly. stayed here about 15 times and wonât be returning any time soon. such a shame the way this spa is heading. it was one of my favourite places awhile ago but the cut backs are so noticeable.

Everything from arriving where staff came out and took out luggage from the car to the room, offered to park the car and couldnât have been more helpful throughout. When going for our evening meal we were offered a ride down to the golf club and back after. Everything exceeded my expectations including the room and the amenities, food, spa facilities, it was perfect.
There was nothing to dislike

clean and quiet
room too far from hotel, (I did realise when booking) spa restaurant closed, had to go outside to golf club one. We couldnât get into outside spa on the day, hotel was quiet. room service breakfast a joke.. 1st time left at wrong room, 2nd time they tried , very delayed and then food cold. We waited over an hour for breakfast in total had to leave in a hurry, unsatisfactory for a hotel of that kind.

Grounds were gorgeous. Breakfast was wonderful. Staff were very helpful and accommodating.
My only complaint were the lights in the room. They are on presets but they weren't very intuitive.

everting was perfect, it would take too long to type
only let down was the breakfast but in the scheme of things thatâs very minor

The window in my room (Tiplady lodge) was broken and kept opening during the night.

The staff are lovely, we received an upgrade.
The spa is great, don't miss the room with the hydrotherapy pool.
Breakfast was tasty.
The hall has been modernised so there wasn't much trace of the old hall in style, which was a shame.
We ate in the orangery, it was cold. We opted for the al la carte, and for ÂŁ70 each we left hungry. The staff were nice and accommodating, but we would have preferred no snacks and larger portions.
We tried to order room service, it didn't seem to be available.
