Could be a great place to stay.. but it's not.

Location. This place has potential. It could be a fantastic place! The host was so friendly. I feel bad about my review but I don't feel well now. My allergies went nuts.

It is run down, dusty AF, and very unpleasant. The bedding and linen seemed clean... that's it. The kitchen is yuck, the bathroom is yuck, the smell is yuck. It is extremely overpriced. No TV ( said it did ) , toilet seat broken, freezer hardly froze our freezer packs, carpet is gross, sent my allergies and asthma into overdrive. Tried not to spend any time there. Everywhere was booked out so had to stay.

günstiger Preis mit guten Busverbindungen zur City und nach Port Chalmers ,

Die Aussicht auf das Wasser war schön und die Stadtbusverbindung, um in das Centrum von Duniden oder nach Port Chalmers zu gelangen, war in unmittelbarer Nähe. Als Fußgänger hat man dadurch sehr gute Möglichkeiten, Dunidin zu erkunden. Auch die Möglichkeit am Wasser lange spazieren zu gehen, fand ich sehr gut. Der Preis war günstig für die Lage und Nähe zur Stadt. Eine Heizdecke für's Bett, eine Kuscheldecke und ein kleiner Heizkörper zum Wärmen im Zimmer, waren sehr gute Ausstattungsmerkmale, die mir gefallen haben.

Die Straße direkt vor dem Hotel ist sehr laut, auch die Züge, die teilweise auch Nachts vorbei fahren, erzeugen einen hohen Lärmpegel, der von den einfachen und alten Holzfenstern nicht abgeschirmt werden kann. Die verschlossene Zwischentür zum belegten Nachbarzimmer ist ebenso nicht isoliert und damit hört man auch normale Gespräche oder Telefonate aus dem Nebenzimmer sehr deutlich. Die Küche war leider nicht besonders aufgeräumt und etwas unsauber und das Mobiliar war ziemlich abgenutzt.

very disappointing

There was advertised an arrival of 7-9pm, we arrived at 815pm on Friday 9th Feb 2024 to find the building was all locked up and appeared to have been abandoned for some time. there were no lights on, no access, no body present. there were two phone numbers on the door which we rang with no response. We therefore were stranded and with the Chinese new year celebrations in Dunedin unable to find accomodation at that late hour. Luckoly we found a room due to a cancellation that costs us almost twice as much. We noted that money had been taken out of the visa acoount although w were told we could pay on arrival. We were a bit in a delima as the boking was through BOOKING.COM We suggest that you visit the premises to see what you are booking for. We have locked our via account and would like those funds reimbursed ASAP

It was dirty, terrible access, staff/owner did not appear. We didn't stay after looking at the place. Booking.com terrible company as no obvious place to apply for cancelation.

The veiw was wonderful the bus stop was so close to the hotel takeaways down the road was 2min walk room was clean and bathrooms was excellent

I feel mine host did his best, but such basic facilities - bit line boarding school in the 1950’s!

i would not recommend anyone to stay at this placd

the view outside the place was nice

-did not see the owners once -did not see anyone else staying there, felt like it was abandoned. -the room was falling apart: ceiling was peeling, holes in the walls and ceiling, nets were ripped, curtains mismatched, stains on the mattress. -people had left things behind from previous stays -the bed was super uncomfortable, could feel all the springs and the headboard was broken. -there was no smoke alarms. -the bar downstairs stayed closed the whole time we were there and could not get a drink or food without heading into the city. -upon arrival the place looked like it had been shut down.

last minute trip. very pricey for a shared bathroom/kitchen set up. A matter of wash what you use and put it on the

shower was great.

room was road side. very noisy throughout the night. bed was uncomfortable. Lack of signs in kitchen area to show what could be used, no instructions or labels for the usage of appliances or where everything is kept.

It was a last minute decision to stay in Dunedin after the rugby so I had to take the last room in town .

I can't really complain about the conditions as it's a very old hotel.

cold dusty musty place. wouldn’t recommend to anyone. would have rather slept in my car

booked three rooms, all dusty and musty. paid for tonight’s checked out at 9am after the first night. lost a whole nights cost. messaged the owner and didn’t get a reply

this hotel was empty, closed, someone came to let us in. off road parking. hotel had an area for making a cuppa or heating a meal,

very basic, the first room had no wifi, sky, netflix or tv, swapped to another room which had a tv added from another room. Thank-you. no outside area suitable for children to play or sit. needs some serious improvements, updating and repairs, even focusing on 1 room at a time and renting it out while working on the next, add good art from local artists - even from op shops, just not kmart etc.

Location is winner if you're in Dunedin for Uni or Polytechnic as only just a few mins drive around the corner, away from the all of the main traffic and main road.

Need to bring your own food or go out and eat out - there is no restaurant or cafe but do have a very basic kitchen upstairs for guests to use. Need bring everything up to the reasonable good standard and updated.

1. The fact in left at 7am and didn't Sleep the whole night. False advertising by booking.com

1. Booked for 4 only to sleep on the floor, 2. Lied to as before booking we confirmed whether the room has its own toilet/bathroom and kitchen hence the reason we choose this, but it was a shared facilities 3. The room was very dusty 4. The room was very damp and had very strong stench 5. The shower leaked so the floors were wet 6. Window was smash in one corner so strong cold drafts made the entire hallway cold 5. Notified booking.com and the manager Dr Hu of the issues 2hours of us entering the room. We informed them of the situation and also notified that the facility was not up to standard. 6. Have messaged on this platform multiple times and have only been ignored. Check the messages area for reference. We packed 4hrs after ready to leave 7. My son coughed his lungs out and cried must of the night saying when he breathes the air is cutting his nasal passage. 8. No wifi 9. Paints are coming of the ceiling

Service was good. It was okay for what we needed. But for the price we paid we haven stayed in better on our travels.

The mattress - could feel the springs and coils even from putting your hand on the mattress. Place smelt very damp and musty Parking was a little unknown
