Bon séjour. Deux réserves : canapé-lit absolument inconfortable et serrure entrée très difficile.
Excellent emplacement. Bon équipement à part les réserves ci-dessus.

The property has a great view from the top floor of the beach and the harbour and it is an extremely well presented spilt level flat. The street door to the block leads to a small shared ground floor passage. Then there are stairs that lead to a shared 1st floor landing and a Yale locked door to the flat. 1st floor: bedroom and bathroom. Another set of twisting stairs lead to the sitting room/kitchen on the 2nd floor.
The bedlinen is of a very good quality, but sadly when I came to launder it, I was unable to. There is a washing machine, but no tumbler dryer and no outside space. The drying rack is just too small for a set of king sized linen. If you are staying for more than 7 days, my suggestions are; bring your own linen, pay 30€ per couple for clean linen, or drive to Argeles to a launderette.
There are some health and safety issues that need to be addressed as part of the owner’s duty of care. The street door from the property is shared by 4 flats. One has to turn the key to lock this door. This lock is very temperamental and sometimes won’t turn. If there was a fire, one would need to; 1. Remember the front door key. 2. Hope that the lock works for you. If you leave the street door unlocked another tenant locks it, so there is no easy way out. I contacted the owner but I received no response. If the other tenants won’t agree to pay for a new lock, please just buy for a Yale lock and just give them their keys!
As noted before, the very small bath is situated under the 2nd floor stairs. Therefore, there is very little room to manoeuvre. Climbing up and over into the tiny bath holding a folding glass shower screen to reach the compromised shower space was just about ok for me at 5’7” but climbing out over the bath again with soapy water surrounding my feet, into the petite bathroom was scary. My suggestion is: take out the bath and have a walk in shower or wet room. It’s safer plus the bath is too small and comprised by the stairs to be of any use.
The flat is well placed, is extremely close to the beach and amenities, and yes it is noisy when the cavern of empty wine bottles are emptied into the tip truck at 0500, but that is a price one pays. We did become accustomed to it.
Finally, we enjoyed our stay but rarely ate in. Sadly there is no freezer, not even a tiny one within the fridge. Therefore, one can never have ice cubes for your drinks or emergencies, ice cream, a pack of frozen peas etc. What a shame!

Pros:- The location of the apartment is fantastic it overlooks the beach. You don’t need to drive anywhere. The apartment was clean with everything you need supplied.
Cons:- There is no parking ! You have to pay €50 euros in advance for a weeks parking in any car park that has a meter the barrier parking is more expensive! The bathroom is really small my wife’s 5ft 1” and she hit her head! Having no light on the stairs is difficult when coming home at night, trying to find a key hole and safety on the stairs. IT IS NOISY there are bins directly under the bedroom and collection start around 4am the bottle collection is the worse!! Restaurants emptying into the bins is also bad quite late at night. and in the morning. This is no reflection on the owner, I really don’t see what he could do about it.

The flat is in an ideal location for the beach and shops/bars etc of the Faubourg area of town. Yes it is noisy at all times but that's the compromise for the location and view.
Couple of things that disappointed - the bathroom description states 'large bath and shower'. Unless you are under 5 feet tall this is not the case. Contortionists might be okay but we have strained necks and shoulders. Secondly, the description clearly says that there are English channels available on the TV. We could only find one - the rest were pay to view.
If you tightened up your description we'd not have had these few niggles!
Overall a great holiday. Collioure is a favourite of ours and Chez de le monde is a good option, any more than two adults would be a stretch though!

We loved our stay at Chez le Monde but be aware that it can be very loud in the early morning hours with lorries collecting glass bottles and because the parking lot is directly in front between the property and the beach- deliveries to restaurants are made order 7sm as well. Refrigerated lorries leave the engines running! Light sleepers be warned. This is the only picking point we had- the kitchen is very adequate for preparing meals. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. Soft towels and sheets provided- a very convenient location to all of the town. There’s a bus stop close by so it’s easy getting to other places. The market is great with its food bread baskets clothes. Find the organic bread seller! A comfortable little place to enjoy a beautiful town and area.

A great 5 day stay here not in “high” season. Although it looked pretty busy to us it was not hard to see why. Just a picture postcard place. A public holiday, an exhibition or fair at the Château combined with the school holidays certainly bolstered the population for the quiet part of the year! Chez De le Monde lived up to our expectations. Easy to follow instructions and directions had us off on the right foot from the get go. The accommodation was well appointed with everything you needed to have a comfortable stay and oh that view! You can fall in love with that right there. We have been travelling in Europe for weeks and self accommodation is our preference. None better than this. Perfect for 2 people. Eat in, eat out, shopping, site seeing and just plain relaxing, no problem. All the home comforts in a cute space. It’s pencilled in on our must return list.

Collioure
Lovely view over Collioure from the Windows of the little house.
Plenty of storage space for clothes etc. Lovely comfortable bed and sofa and chair. The house is clean with good linen and towels.
It is very convenient for the town and all the wonderful walks, restaurants, sea and sights.
The down side is that it is very noisy, as the main road runs right passed.
I found the kitchen a bit lacking in utensils and equipment. Not enough knives and plates if you use the dishwasher and the sink was not really much good for washing up in.
A good place for a short stay.

Delightful! Fabulous view, tastefully decorated and furnished and well equipped.
On seeing the bedroom my wife said "This is beautifully done!" On seeing the view she said "Oh, this is the best ever!" Having said that I would like to rent it again so if other potential holiday-renters could just "Move along please! Nothing to see here!" (Except the almost hypnotically beautiful view of Collioure!)
