Perfect place to stay

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They were so kind and looked after every request we had. The location is perfect in the middle of the promenade with everything in close proximity. The room was spotless and very well catered. Will definitely be staying here the next time we’re in the Isle of Man.

Relaxing, clean, no hassle would recommend

Refurbished to an amazing standard and the rooms are a really good size. The staff were extremely professional and there was nothing they couldn’t do! Always willing to make the stay even better.

Best place to stay in Douglas on Isle of Man.

The room had a beautiful sea view and was very big. Super walk in shower and elevator. Bed very comfortable.

Food was good but service was a little disorganized first day then improved.

Very happy and was very comfortable

The bath and bathroom. The room was luxurious with complimentary items which was lovely as it was for my 21st. The staff were amazing!

Loved it, will definitely return

The hotel is in an ideal location for all the amenities in Douglas. Right on the seafront by the theatre, cinema and shopping area. The decor and furnishings are really lovely. The fridge in the room has complimentary items. There are bathroom items available in case you forget anything. The room has ambient lighting where you can choose the colour scheme. The room was warm, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and the young girl was really polite and even though the place was packed she was constantly attentive to everyone's needs.

That I had to leave !!

Best engagement trip ever

This was the most beautiful hotel, with the most outstanding staff- I cannot say enough about the experience. Lucas was particularly amazing, attentive and kind even before we arrived for our engagement trip (surprise proposal a few days before!)— the room upgrade was such a surprise as were the decorations— such a delight! Many thanks I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Enjoyed my stay. Central for my needs being an ex- resident..

My room was spacious. The heating was easy to control .The House Team came by everyday. All the Staff were polite. I only chose breakfast and had the choice to eat in the dining room or for Staff to do room service. I would return to the Halvard. Thank you .

On my arrival my room had not been serviced and was not ready. However, after speaking with the Staff it was quickly rectified. Secondly, being an old building I could hear the lift when in use, It didn’t both me too much. I could also hear the toilet being used in the next room. Again there’s not much that can be done because of the layout.

Lovely location, high quality rooms with attentive staff

Amazing location on the promenade, worth paying for a sea view. Beautifully refurbished, very clean and lovely bedding / toiletries and tea tray / mini bar. Staff were friendly and helpful, pleasant breakfast room

Parking was a bit painful at 4pm as no zone spaces so a bit of a walk with the cases

Fabulous stay, plenty of good food on Douglas quay and really enjoyed walks in the National Glens.

The accommodation was excellent and very convenient for the town centre and the ferry terminal. Lovely staff (thank you Lucas, Rachel, Rachel and Peter), any minor issues were dealt with quickly and effectively. Top marks. The housekeeping was excellent with top quality bed sheets and towels. Nice to get complimentary drinks, chocolate and crisps every day in the minibar. Breakfast was delicious and extensive (I particularly enjoyed the eggs Benedict). Altogether a wonderful stay. We took our car but bought a “Go Explore” travel ticket which was good value, convenient and allowed travel on buses, steam train, electric railway, mountain railway and horse drawn tram. Fantastic fun and very convenient times for travelling around the island.

Disappointed that the hotel was not doing evening meals but they did offer complimentary tapas in the evening when you bought a drink. The tapas were delicious and perfect when you needed a light evening meal. There was some noise at night from a local bar but it didn’t spoil my sleep and the hotel are trying to manage this.

Clean , fairly comfortable. But very noisy on the weekends not in the hotel. But with adjacent

Halvard very clean , the staff were friendly on arrival and if we ever needed something. The rooms are spacious and very clean.

Even though it’s a lovely hotel and has so many ups , on a weekend it’s not the best place to stay, the noise kept us up most of the night. So on that I wouldn’t stay again even though it’s a beautiful hotel.

We really enjoyed our staff and would high recommend it to anyone to staff there - you won’t be disappointed!

The hotel was in a great location. It was spotlessly clean, lovely and warm, spacious bedrooms,equipped with everything anyone would need, with lots of extra touches to make it a special stay. The bathroom had a great shower and there was a good supply of towels. The breakfast selection was fantastic. the manager David and all the staff at the hotel were so helpful and friendly and could not do enough for us. we would highly recommend anyone to visit the Halvard hotel.

Room was beautiful, it was our wedding anniversary and staff did a lovely display for us. Food was lovely, big portions and staff were lovely. Definitely be going back. In an ideal location aswell.

Great hotel on the inside but next door to a bar and behind it fast food restaurant. The noise was .

Stayed before and the hotel is great, rooms nice and the breakfast was amazing.

Perfect location on the promenade. Staff were really friendly. Food was excellent. Very clean.

Little problem with temperature of the room but were moved to another so was dealt with very well. Decor a little dark for my taste.
