City of Asheville Issues a System Wide Boil Water Notice
The City of Asheville Water Resources Department has issued a Boil Water Notice for all City of Asheville water customers due to loss of pressure in distribution system pipes and levels of turbidity (particles) in the water.
A Boil Water Notice means there is contamination due to impacts from Hurricane Helene including the potential for untreated water in the distribution system from pipe breaks and levels of turbidity that exceed Safe Drinking Water Act standards initially used to restore water pressure. Your water may look cloudy and/or have a chlorine odor.
It is REQUIRED for customers to vigorously boil tap water for 1 minute before consuming it. Once laboratory testing of the system confirms the possibility of risk is not present, customers will receive notification that the boil water notice has been lifted.
How to minimize your risk
Buncombe issued this guidance for avoiding sickness Oct. 28:
Use safe water:
* Use bottled or disinfected water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth.
* If boiling: bring clear water to a rolling boil for 1 minute.
* If using bleach: add eight drops of bleach per gallon, wait 30 mins.
* Avoid well water until disinfected and tested.
Practice hand hygiene:
* Wash hands with soap and clean water, or use sanitizer (60% alcohol).
* Key times: before eating or preparing food, after bathroom use, after animal contact.
Sanitize food prep areas:
* Clean surfaces with soap and safe water.
* Use bleach solution (1 tbsp bleach per gallon of water) for sanitizing.
Follow food safety:
* Discard unrefrigerated meat/dairy.
* Cook food thoroughly and consume it hot.
* Avoid raw foods unless you’ve peeled them yourself.

I enjoyed my stay in this condo and would stay here again. It is comfortable and clean, well-equipped, looks nice, and is in a good location to walk around downtown.

Great location in the middle of downtown Asheville! The unit was well furnished and the hosts made sure that everything was perfect for us! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a central location, but also has easy access to the Interstate as well.
4.9
The unit and location were great, but the immediate walking area was a little dark and sketchy.

Great location! Asheville itself is very hilly and this location is by the casino which is a little more elevated, not too steep but something to keep in mind. The parking spot was a huge plus! Very detailed and easy check-in and check-out instructions. We didn’t really use the kitchen, but it seemed to be pretty stocked. The water pressure in the shower was AMAZING. The host was very friendly and responsive!

Nice place with any easy walk to everything.

Great location within walking distance to downtown business area. Condo was very clean with plenty of room.

Very clean and well appointed. Great location. Only problem was that I did not have internet ability, so communication was somewhat limited once I left my home. Rick Keller

The property was well maintained and clean. The host gave very detailed directions and instructions on where to park, how to enter the building and how to locate our apartment. We would book again!

This was a fantastic home base for exploring Asheville. Extremely attentive hosts and thoughtful amenities, as well!

We enjoyed our anniversary so much. We were able to walk everywhere we went! Such a nice place!

Wonderful location, clean, and spacious…property manager communicated quickly and effectively. When there was a water leak, which caused the hot water to be turned off, I was given a refund for my two nights’ stay even though I chose not to vacate when I became aware of the program. I appreciate the understanding and assistance and will definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay at this condo for our honeymoon in Asheville. It's the perfect size and setup for a couple. Although there was a problem in the building that impacted our stay, Sarah kept us informed and did everything she could be make it right, even though it was out of her control.
The location is very accessible to downtown (~5 to 10 minute walk to most things) and the parking spot was much appreciated, especially on the busy weekend. The little touches such as the second sink and mirror in the bedroom, water filter in the fridge, sound machine, and warm lighting thoughout made it a wonderful home base and place to stay. We'll be back next time we visit Asheville!

Very convenient to downtown - very well decorated and comfortable!

My absolute favorite place to stay in Asheville.

This property is in a great location--easy walk to all of the sights, shopping, and dining in downtown Asheville. It was also easy to get out of downtown as it is right by the highway. It was a comfortable and clean space with plenty of room to settle in for a weekend or longer stay. I would definitely stay here again1

Lovely property. Private, spacious, and close to everything!

Dark, drafty, and noisy
When you check into a place and find a white noise machine, ear plugs, and towels stuffed into the windows, you can guess the rest. The proximity to downtown is about all this dreary place has going to for it. The bedroom was freezing from the drafty windows and doors, which also face onto a club across the street that, as others have noted, is quite noisy on weekends. The spring-tensioned (REALLY?) shower curtain rod came crashing down on us one morning, as did the similarly-attached window curtain, and the musty smell from the hallway occasionally drifted into the apartment. The kitchen is well-appointed, but beware of actually cooking: Our one attempt set off the hair-trigger smoke alarm, as did another guest during our stay, resulting in ear-piercing shrieks throughout the entire condominium for close to a half hour until the firemen arrived to shut it off. There are better options in Asheville.

The condo was clean and well appointed. Great location to downtown - we walked to dinner each night and felt safe while there. I would recommend it.

The Easy Spot
The Easy Spot condo was well appointed, well kept and very comfortable except for the noise. We noted the ear plugs on the night tables when we got there and quickly figured out why they were there. At 11 PM there was music from someplace close that did not stop until 2 AM. This would have been nice to know before we booked. The hallways all smelled with a musty smell. Best part...the location of the condo was perfect for getting around town!

Great spot
The apartment was extremely clean which is important to us. Loved the 2 head shower. The location worked out well since we could walk places and drive to some beautiful hiking locations. So many good places to eat, drumming circle was fun, North Carolina arboretum was lovely, Sierra brewery was lots of fun. The hosts were easy to access. My daughter and I went as a little getaway and had a great trip. We are fit so it was not an issue but the stairs could be a problem for anyone who was limited in mobility. The one parking space worked out great for us. Locked front entrance door was nice for security. We would stay again.

Just as described
Great location for exploring the area. Within walking distance to restaurants and breweries. Everything was clean and as described. The bed has memory foam and was extremely soft...if you like that sort of thing.

My husband and I spent a long weekend at this location. The condo is just as described. The location couldn't be better. The other reviews mention noise, which is to be expected in a downtown location. Also, it is a little tricky to get in and out (lots of doors and codes), but we quickly got the hang of it. I would highly recommend this property.

This is a great location for enjoying Asheville! Everything is in walking distance. Clean and comfortable. No view and a little awkward getting to the room but we would definitely stay here again.

Not exactly nice
This apartment is in an old bldg. The owner did a good job but the bldg. needs work. A rain storm came while we were there and the wind was high and the curtains in the bedroom we’re blowing also. You can also hear Harrahs until 2am.

Pros: the location was A++! Walkable to everything while still being tucked away and not directly above a restaurant. The bed was super comfy, the furniture was all in good shape and clean and the property manager was responsive to a small issue with the shower.
Cons: the listing doesn’t show that you are overlooking the highway at one end and then looking at a big power/electric station on the other end so you’ll likely end up keeping the windows closed, which then makes the place feel a bit dark. Also, I’m not positive if there is a better way to get to the room, but to get in you need 2 codes plus 5 different doors, including 3 sets up stairs going up and down. It’s bare-minimum confusing (especially if you just visited a brewery!) but mostly just mentioning for people who might struggle with mobility. Lastly, the building isn’t super insulated and there are signs about being quiet in the building because everyone hears everything so I would say this is a fine place for a couple of business traveler but probably not a great fit for a boisterous family.
Overall it worked great for what we needed, and I would recommend to others!

This apartment is a nice little place to enjoy Asheville from. Parking is a huge plus and makes it easy to walk everywhere. We really enjoyed the space it was laid out really well. There was some street noise so if your a light sleeper keep that in mind but earplugs were provided.
