About this farm stay rental
In an ideal position for exploring the coast of the Cinque Terre, Liguria and Northern Tuscany. Perched on the steep hills above the sea is set in a 8 hectare fenced estate in the middle of the Montemarcello Natural Park. This stone house comfortably sleeps 6. In the garden there is a beautiful private swimming pool (10m x 3m) built into the terraced slope. The pool has a heating appliance that, if necessary, can increase the temperature by 2-3 degrees during the day.
All ground floor rooms have French windows, making the outside pergola and garden part of the everyday use of the house and giving a very summery feel.
Walking in from the large pergola one enters an elegantly furnished living-dining room focuses on an ancient fireplace, flanked by the corridor leading to a well-equipped kitchen and an antique glass cabinet for glasses and crockery.
From the kitchen a door leads to a bathroom and to a high-ceiling double bedroom and with French windows to the garden. The stairs lead up from the kitchen to a half-landing with twin bedroom and shower-room. Further up there is a last double bedroom with ensuite shower-room.
Murella is also provided with a cosy and fully functional fireplace in the living/dining area. Wood logs are provided and free of charge.
We produce a fine organic red wine called 'Margot'. Very fast Starlink WiFi, ideal for remote working.
Central Heating is available but not included. A gas meter reading will determine the cost (€5 per m3).

- Pian della Chiesa is a 50 hectares estate that sits on top of the Caprione peninsula, 900 meters from the Mediterranean and 350 meters above sea level.
It has different accommodation solutions: Murella (host 6), Dolinetta (host 4), Bungalow (host 4)and Concara (host 2).
It is in an ideal position for exploring the hill villages and coast of the Cinque Terre, Liguria and Northern Tuscany.
Set in a Natural Park that is mainly made up of typical Mediterranean woods of umbrella pines, helms and Turkish oaks, woven with paths, and bordering the beautiful and steep coastline of Southern Liguria. It is ideally set for exploring the small villages on the coast, with delicious fish restaurants and hidden coves from which to swim.
The Cinque Terre are easily reachable, with miles of walking paths on the craggy coastline, punctuated by villages clinging to the edge of the coast, with steep vineyards where the grapes are collected in mini-funicular train arrangements.
Alternatively you might head east, towards the Apennines and the Apuan Alps, made of the famous Carrara marble so loved by Michelangelo. Deep valleys hold traces of the Romans and of the ancient indigenous population called the Lunis. The mountains also harbour delicious restaurants and charming villages worth exploring.
The classic cities of Tuscany are also not far away, with Pisa and Lucca around an hour away, while Florence is just under 2 hours.

Murella was just as beautiful in real life as in the photos. The house had everything we needed and my children used the pool every day. The house is conveniently located for day trips to the Riviera and Tuscany. After a day of exploring, it was a relaxing place to come home. Ottavio was a fantastic host. And his wine is divine.

Heerlijk verblijf gehad. Zeer mooie verassende omgeving.

Fantastic
Our family trip was a great succes due to beautiful villa Murella!
It's a wonderful relaxing private property with a very nice swimming pool and lots of space in the garden. Also the porch and kitchen are very pleasant. Lots of activities in the area. Ottavia is a very warm and friendly host. He gave us lots of information and was very flexible. Thank you so much!!! All together makes it for us a place worthwhile to come again.

Fantastico!
The property is incredible. Ottavio met us when we arrived and his enthusiasm to make our stay pleasurable was very much appreciated. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen is a chef's dream. The directions to the property (over the hills and through the woods) were spot on. We enjoyed the tour of the winery Ottavio gave us and his wine is molto bene! Thanks for a wonderful stay. We hope to return soon!

Beautiful, private, clean, and special property
Can't wait to return! Ottavio and his wife are fantastic property owners and keep the grounds and house clean and comfortable. Murella is a perfect cottage and homebase to explore Liguria from. All the comforts of home exist here and it's a perfect setting for a relaxing stay. The pool is a great thing to have available for the warmer sunny days. Note it is off the beaten path, but if you like that sort of thing you will be thrilled. It's a very special place Ottavio and his wife have carved out in Montemarcello. Murella or any of the properties they have that we saw were beautiful. Murella was very kid friendly and our son had a great time running around the property. We loved it and only wished we had more time to simply laze about at the house and down at the beach, but our stay was action packed as we had only a few days in Liguria. Be sure to have them show you the full property, vineyard, and don't forget to say hello to their awesome dog, Pino!

Splendid house and pool in the woods
The place is just as described, and offers a calm and private setting in the woods above Tellaro. Beautiful house and pool and large garden. The access is by a narrow mountain road. Ottavio was a good host and ensured that we had a good stay. We travelled with our 1,5 year old son, and he was kind to provide both baby cot and high chair. Unfortunately, we did not have time to visit the vineyard. That will have to wait for the next visit. All in all highly recommendable.

Lovely retreat in Tuscany/Liguria
What a wonderful spot! My family and I enjoyed 5 nights here and were very reluctant to leave! The house and pool are very clean, well equipped, and well situated in a quiet location. The house is nicely appointed and offers 3 comfortable bedrooms and 3 baths. The nearby town of Lerici is a coastal gem and a good place to catch the ferry to Portovenere and the Cinque Terre. We also made an easy day trip to Lucca. We visited in late May and the pool was open but quite chilly. Still, it was a refreshing swim at the end of a day of touring and the lounge chairs offered relaxation and view of the forests and olive groves. Rather idyllic setting!
Ottavio is very welcoming and provides lots of information. We did have a challenge finding the house our first time, and the road up to it is narrow and winding. We decided to cook our dinners in as I did not want to make the trek after a dinner out and face the road in the dark. The kitchen offers all the pots/pans etc one needs to cook, but you must provide everything on your own such as olive oil, spices, herbs. There is excellent wi-fi at the house but the cell service is spotty. I would definitely recommend this for a relaxing stay in Italy and hope to return someday!
