About this cottage rental

The Coach House which is situated in Woodstown, is on the beautiful Suir river estuary in Co. Waterford, Ireland. It is located in 4 acres of quiet woodlands just five minutes walk from Woodstown and Forenaught beaches and only ten minutes drive from the picturesque fishing village of Dunmore East. Whether you want a hideaway for a quiet week or two, to write or paint or walk or do nothing, or if you wish to base yourself in a centrally located coastal area ideally positioned for local touring, this is the place for you.
The restoration and refurbishment of the Coach House at Mount Alto was completed in 2008 to a very high quality standard of finish which is maintained by continuous improvement. The unit is heated by oil-fired under floor heating. Water heating is by central heating and electric immersion heater. An external enclosed private patio is accessible from the lower living area. Broadband internet (Wi-Fi) is provided free for normal internet usage. The accommodation is a smoke free zone. Also we regret that we are unable to cater for pets.
There is a 7 night minimum for bookings during high season, ie. June to September. For the reminder of the year, a 3 night minimum booking applies.

The property is well maintained and in a beautiful location within walking distance to a quiet beach, Fornaught.The welcome package of bread, butter etc was very thoughtful. Id highly recommend this, thar barr!

Brendan and Jean were very thoughtful hosts. They even made us brown bread which lasted the week. The privacy of the location, and proximity to Woodside Beach was an added bonus with so many good walks available to us. We had every amenity one could imagine. We would love to return annually. We chose this property as a home base to explore Waterford and Wexford Counties. We like being out in the countryside away from the bustle of bigger towns. So glad we found this place. First of all, the hosts are terrific, having stocked the kitchen with some basics (including homemade bread!) until we could get to the grocery store. The home (very clean and comfortable) is well equipped with cookware, dinnerware and everything else you might need to prepare a meal at home. You can tell the hosts take good care with this property. There is a private walled courtyard in the back which we enjoyed in the evenings in lounge chairs after a day of exploring, and there is also an outdoor dining table if weather permits. It took us a time (or two) to get used to the narrow road up from Woodstown beach that leads to the property, but that added to the charm! Short drive to the town of Waterford, and many seaside towns. We enjoyed our stay here, and would stay here again if in the area.

Brendan and Jean are what booking private places so great! Everything was just as described in listing. This place is lovely on every level and so clean with all the extra you might need for your stay. Make sure you check out the private beach!

We felt at home straight away...cleanliness and comfort were better than other stays in the area we have stayed in before. We would definitely go back and stay in the future. Brendan and Jean were lovely hosts and we appreciated the lovely welcome of home made bread and lots of other treats we found when we arrived.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Coach House. When we arrived it was perfectly set up and ready for us to make it home. They provided all the basic essentials along with some fresh baked bread, a bottle of wine, and chocolate laid out for us to enjoy. The views were amazing, and it’s only about a 10 min drive to Dunmore East and about 20 min to Waterford. We were very blessed to stay at the Coach House!

We loved our time at the Coach House. Brendan and Jean’s generous hospitality was greatly appreciated - food staples, home made bread and welcome gift of wine and chocolates. We loved the walks to local beaches and the beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. We enjoyed morning coffee listening to the birds in the courtyard. Thanks for sharing your relaxing and peaceful place with us and we would love to return.

This beautiful property sits on a old farm homestead. Just like the phoenix it has risen from ruins to present day thanks to the present day owners. It’s a perfect hideaway from the everyday stress of city day life. It offers you privacy not to far from the comforts of city life. If you like strolling on the beach this place is for you. Do you like privacy? This place is for you. Do you like to bird watch/listen? This place is for you. The hosts are charming and welcoming. We appreciated every detail and all the welcoming gifts. The Coach House is a grand size for a couple. The small kitchen is fine for one person to cook. We often took meals in the back courtyard as well as the dining area. The restored coach house was very comfortable and the stone edifice allowed for privacy and character. The quiet roads and hard packed beach allowed for walks and runs. The grounds, views, and the beach are beautiful. The hosts are incredibly responsive, available and wonderful people.

The Coach House is in such a peaceful, lovely setting, surrounded by trees and very close to a couple of beaches. It is furnished to a very high standard and the outside spaces are perfect for sunbathing and eating outdoors. Brendan and Jean were the perfect hosts and have thought of everything.

This beautifully adorned cosy place was totally reviving and Had all we needed. They were surprise extra treats which was very generous but the most special part was our welcome and we were spoilt and enjoyed our stay very much indeed. A hidden haven

The Coach House is a beautiful hidden haven, which we were steeped in luck to have found. The owners, Brendan & Jean, couldn't have been kinder hosts nor more welcoming. Everything about our stay was perfect, from the house itself being spotless and very comfortable to the easily accessible surrounding areas, their villages and lovely beaches. A wonderful place to really switch off and relax. We greatly look forward to returning some day, hopefully soon!

Although you have been welcoming guests since 2010, the house and everything in it are so fresh and clean that Ed and I felt we were the first ones to use them. Lovely property, converted to a high standard and very private. Fantastic location on a wooded hillside in the extensive grounds of the owner’s house. Brendan and Jean were very welcoming and keen to ensure that everything was just right. Lots to do in the area including cycling the Waterford Greenway, walking and beaches. Dunmore East, not far away by car, is a nice seaside town with some good restaurants.

This property was as described and much more. The owners have thought of everything you will need. I believe the renovation was done 10 years ago but it looks like it was done 10 days ago. It is in pristine condition. Once you get your bearings, the cottage is an easy 15 minute drive to all Waterford has to offer. Highly recommend a stay.

The Coach House is stunning both in stature and location. The hosts, Brendan and Jean were so accommodating and helpful, providing everything needed for a hassle free tranquil getaway. The best of waterford is within walking or short driving distance and the Bar at the end of the beach has the nicest views. It’s perfect! I’d highly recommend for chilled out couples.

The Coach House is a charming property in secluded surroundings. The hosts were very thoughtful with welcome provisions and treats and the house had everything necessary for a relaxing , easy holiday. I felt very much at home and would happily stay there again to enjoy walks , beaches and countryside in Waterford.
