We had a wonderful stay at Skellig Bay Cottage! The house was spacious and comfortable and had everything that we needed. The location was perfect for relaxing in front of the views and short day trips to all of the sights. Our favorite part of the house was the large ocean front window. We all took turns sitting in the comfy chairs reading a book or just taking in the scenery of sheep and ocean. Thank you for a great stay in the Ring of Kerry!

Cute little place. The check in process was seamless. Jamie was easy to contact. They even left out some cereal and coffee for us which was so kind! Rooms were spacious.

It was a huge storm. We sat and drank coffee and tea watching the waves. Such a gorgeous view!

Lovely stay in this beautiful home with great amenities. I suspect after a long and probably successful summer there’s some touching up needed during the colder months but overall cleanliness was fine and (despite the monsoon weather) we were all cozy.

Photos can't do this location justice. Simply waking up to the amazing and ever-changing views of Ballinskelligs Bay ensure you're beginning your day on a beautiful note.
The house is situated just few minutes' drive from town, meaning you have all the amenities of the village without the tourist crowds coming off the buses to contend with. It's incredibly well-appointed, and dealing with James and Jenny was a true pleasure.
We were in Waterville for a wedding, but look forward to coming back to the cottage at a later date for a lengthier stay.

I can't imagine a more comfortable and spacious house for the five of us. We never tired of the view of the bay, from the many big windows and from our walks along the little road. The only downside was that it was so pleasant and I was so intimidated by driving that we didn’t head out on lots of adventures like I'd planned!

Everything was perfect and clean.
Thanks for everything ! Looking forward to come back again.

Nice space for a siblings trip. Plenty of elbow room for four independent adults. Kitchen/dining area was utilized a lot. Plenty of books/games to use when chilling at the house. Jenny was helpful in guiding us to the unit in the dark. And the locale - spectacular! Overall, a property I'd recommend if you appreciate amazing scenery and a rustic setting.

Great views, good location for travelling around Kerry. Lovely welcome pack greeted us- much appreciated. Lovely comfortable house with good range of kitchen equipment available. However the company gave us inaccurate details of our contact person - which was embarrassing as that person no longer holds that role. She was very helpful, but the company did not respond when we asked them for assistance in relation to updated details for a contact person. The house would have benefitted from a good deep clean - not just 'dirt from a previous visitor'. The sheets were washed but not ironed (which we would expect in this price range), the sink in the main bathroom was cracked and the mould on the tiles in the ensuite of the main bedroom was quite extensive. We hoovered up at least 8 large spiders in the main bedroom on the first evening of our stay. Overall a lovely house with great potential - just needs some TLC and elbow grease to present it in its best - to paying customers.

Super Stay
This is a gem of a property. The house has fantastic views, is so peaceful and quiet yet located just a few km from a lively and beautiful village of Waterville and the ring of Kerry. Some nice touches also by the owner with a bottle of wine and a Nespresso coffee maker with lots of coffee. It was extremely clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this house and we would love to come back again.

Less excuses and more cleaning
Specifically the property at THIS price point needs to be cleaned properly after each guest/guests check out.
We were told the previous guests made a big mess but the dirt we saw was a result of long term neglect in the cleaning department. Sticky floors, chewing gum stuck on window sills, filthy bathrooms and toilets. Needs to do much better.
I hate leaving bad reviews and negativity in general but anyone thinking about staying here at this price may want to let their cleaning expectations be known before arriving.
We enjoyed ourselves in the area and found everybody to be very nice but blaming previous guests for the state of the house is very inappropriate to put it politely.

Absolute paradise
I can’t even begin to describe how this place made us feel. Pure gold in the mountains with a clear and breath taking view of the ocean. Just a short drive to some truly amazing sights. The cottage itself is fantastic. Clearly a loved home, very clean and comfortable. I wish we would have stayed longer. Highly recommend for a long stay. Hoping to return one day, did not disappoint.

Fabulous get away spot with fantastic views!
Spectacular view of the ocean from the house right on the Kerry Way. We were there off season and it was great. There are heated floors, a nice big bath tub, and plenty of amenities. Highly recommended!

Fantastic!
Skellig Bay Cottage is a treasure! Open lightfilled spaces, stunning views and great location for exploring County Kerry and beyond. We (recently retired husband and wife) spent 4 weeks hiking, playing golf and experiencing the gentle quiet life of Southern Ireland. The house suited our needs perfectly for just the 2 of us and the guests we had during our stay.

Absolutely stunning cottage and location!
This cottage and surrounding area is a piece of paradise! The pictures don't do it justice! It was the most peaceful, beautiful place I have ever been to! The property is perfect, built with a lovely view from every window, with panoramic views of the bay and fields of sheep and cows behind. I sat out every evening watching incredible sunsets and listening to the gentle hush of the sea and the bleating of lambs! It is close to Loher stone fort, a secluded beach, 8 minutes drive from Waterville village (but set in a quiet secluded area out of town). Everything you need is provided including washing machine, dishwasher, great selection of books, music, binoculars, TV, Dvd's, comfy beds and spacious accommodation with plenty of storage. The house and surrounding area is so beautiful, and within easy reach of many destinations including Portmagee and the Skellig islands, Kerry's spectacular cliffs, Killarney and other stops along the Ring of Kerry. We couldn't have asked for more and definitely plan to return! In fact if this house was for sale I would buy it!!

Amazing place. Beautiful and spacious house in a spot with ever changing views over the bay.
This is a very nice house with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The kitchen area is huge and the views from the windows are really amazing. Its a 180 degrees view of the bay with ever changing vistas. No matter what the wheather is.
We found it hard to leave the place after only one week.
The house is well equipped, with several sitting areas. Only remark on the downside is that some kitchen appliances start to show some tear and wear.
Nice surpise was the availability of a Nespresso coffee maker with a milk frother for a real cappuccino. So bring the cups of your own liking for a perfect coffee ;)

Quiet cottage in great location
We were two couples from Australia enjoying a 3 week stay in Ireland. The cottage accommodated us well but we would not call it a luxury seaside cottage. The kitchen facilities were very good and we really appreciated the new coffee maker. The only thing that could be added to the kitchen is a couple of containers with lids. The milk etc in the fridge was much appreciated. Both of the en suite bathrooms are very small and restrictive and the showers lack a soap container and there is only a towel rail for the hand towel and washer. Perhaps some towel hooks in the bedrooms would assist with this problem. We dined out on most evenings and on the last night we went to the Smugglers Inn Restaurant (near the Golf Course) and we had the best meal of our 2 months holiday - would really recommend this to other guests. They even have an Early Bird Menu offer which is extremely good value - get there by 6.30 pm.

Lovely and comfortable cottage situated in an ideal location to explore the delights of Kerry
There were nine of us in our party when we stayed at Skellig Bay cottage in June 2016 (6 adults, 2 children and a toddler). We were very lucky as the weather was exceptional, which allowed us plenty of time to bathe on the beautiful Derrynane Beach which is just a 10 minute drive from the cottage. There is plenty of other things to see within walking distance of the cottage itself, for example the old fort just up the lane and the secluded cove which is about 400 meters in front of the cottage as the crows flies. However it’s still a 20 minute walk to get to it following the road.
The cottage was perfect for our stay, there was plenty of room for us all to be together or have our own space and the facilities were great. It is laid out in a modern open plan style and is tastefully decorated. The beds were really comfortable and we never struggled with heating or hot water for showers and baths. Sitting out on the terrace of an evening as the sun goes down is delightful and we often ate our tea outside, using the BBQ as well.
Our only minor complaints about the place was at times we had to wait for cold water to come through the taps, the lock on the main bathroom door kept getting stuck (locking people inside) and the absence of a parasol outside. Apart from these minor observations everything else was very good. We did however find the refuse a bit tricky to manage having only been given one normal and one recycling bag for a full week. That said, everything else we needed was very well catered for. We would highly recommend Derrynane Beach, followed by a spot of lunch in the Blind Piper. The anti clockwise drive from Waterville to Killarney is stunning and Valentia Island and Portmagee is worth a visit.
