This was our second winter girls weekend at this venue, and again it was absolutely fantastic. Beth is a wonderful host and everything was so easy. Communication was great. The bach is so well equipped, it had everything we needed and more. Having multiple fridges, ovens, and cooking equipment makes life so much easier with a large group. We would definitely recommend this venue

This place was amazing. We were 14 adults and 6 children. There were plenty of things to entertain not only the kids but also the adults. Not to mention the large kitchen and dining table, making it easy to cook for such a large group. The host was also very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

We had a brilliant time at this property, with 14 people staying and room for quite a few more. The bach is furnished more than adequately, especially in the kitchen with everything you need.
Sports equipment and squash court was brilliant, and the bach would be great with kids.

We really enjoyed the facility, it enabled space for different groups to find space as well as enough space for everyone to gather and enjoy a meal together.

Group of 15, ages 1yr - 77yrs. 5 kids. Perfect place. Baby gates to keep kids safe. Seperation between living and sleeping spaces to allow for naps. So much to do, games, puzzles, bikes w/helmets, wet suits even! Beach so close. Lake closer. 3 fridge freezers, 2 dishwashers, loads of crockery and kitchen additions. We will be back! With less of our own stuff because it's all there already!

THE MOST AMAZING ACCOMMODATION EVER! This property had everything we could imagine for every age group. Our family group ranged from 15 to 83. The squash court kept us amused till all hours of the night. We could all play according to our ability (or lack of)! There were all sorts of games and toys. The kitchen had everything we could wish for and the lounge had enough comfortable seating for us to all to sit together and commune. Also being able to take our pets was a massive bonus. Our family had an amazing time and we will definitely be back. Thanks so much.

Great family space
We had a fantastic few days. Plenty to do for all ages (our group ranged from 72 - 2), eg puzzles, books, board games, squash, volleyball, table tennis, ball tag, even though the weather was very wet for most of the time and we couldnt get out as much as we would have liked.

60th Birthday Bash
We used to live in Opunake and this was a bit of a homecoming. So, it was fun to have this location to host both a party AND have family and our out of town guests stay with us. For others hosting: The kitchen has an abundance of pots/pans/trays/glasses/wine glasses/platters/spices/etc. Reminds me of the Town Halls or Surf Lifesaving Clubrooms. Just bring food and drink. Has 3 fridges, so lots of food and drink. 2 dishwashers and sinks, even a pizza oven with trays. (Perhaps adding a few detailed photos of the kitchen/bar area on the webpage.)
We played a bit of squash(yes, the court has raquets and balls) and set up our own badminton net to play as well. There is even a table tennis set upstairs. Even a few bikes that we didn't take out.
We went for a walk the next day around the lake (just out back of the bach) and did the whole loop trail as well. Next time, we'll look at booking in the summer for more swimming time.
We would highly recommend this for a few families looking at a place for the weekend or week in the holidays. Literally a 5-minute walk to the beach (was a bit chilly this weekend for us to swim, but others were in the water).
One Note: Not sure if it was clearly listed in the description (maybe we didn't look very well) bring your own sheets, pillow cases and towels and shampoo. I think we counted 5 showers, so no one had to wait long. I brought up extra sheets and towels in case our guests didn't get the memo, it was all fine.
Many thanks Beth for a great venue and your support with answering e-mails.
Cheers,
Steve and Sue
