Guests loved the unique properties, beautiful decor, comfortable bedrooms, and outdoor spaces. They enjoyed the nature sounds, well-stocked amenities, and nearby attractions. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay in paradise.

Beautiful property inside and out. Loved the outdoor setting and the incredible outdoor shower was a real treat. Close to the ocean.
5.0 / 5.0
We enjoyed this unique property, especially the deck in the morning and evening. The stray cats were sweet and my daughter really liked having them around. Only issue was with the showers. The outdoor closed in shower was very hot and unable to change the temp; the indoor shower was chilly and the other outdoor shower ‘one with nature’ was just right. Other than that, the property was as described.

We loved staying in this house. This property is so charming and really feels like you are in Hawaii. Very well-stocked, clean, and comfortable. Perfect location for my family to explore Hilo, go zip lining, and visit Volcanoes National Park and the black sand beach.

Let me start off by saying this house is beautiful. However, what we got is not what was advertised. The day before getting to this rental we got an email from the owner informing us we “only rented the main part of the home”, which was a surprise to us as nothing indicated this rental was split in any way. Because of the “split” pretty much the whole lower level was off limits. That same email also informed us you would need to transport water to the rental as the tap water is not potable and should not be consumed in any way. None of these things were stated in the advertisement of this rental. We had some conversations with the owner, she seemed surprised to learn what VRBO had listed for her rental but that doesn’t change the fact that we did not get what we paid for. Since all this started they have changed the listing, somewhat. It has been over 2 weeks and VRBO has not yet addressed a requested portion for refund.

We loved our 2-night stay at the tree house. The property is large. Bedrooms are comfortable. There is a great porch where you can sit and not get wet when the rain comes. We got in late, and it was really dark but had no issues.
5.0 / 5.0
OVerall, quite good. I would readily trade some of the decoration for some cool cotton sheets! Also, the house is a couple blocks off the ocen, not on it as suggested by the VRBO picture. But close enough to hear the waves crashing on the shore when the tide is coming in at night...

Loved it. Overall atmosphere felt like being in a jungle. Interesting decor. Deck was a favorite hangout. Quality appliances and well stocked kitchen. Enjoyed our excursion to Pohoiku black sand beach and lava flow landscape.

We loved staying at Christina's treehouse! Location was wonderful (it was very private) and it was amazing to hear the wildlife in the mornings and night. The stargazing from the balcony was also superb! Overall, the house was very clean and well equipped with basic cooking ingredients and cookware.
Our only issue was with the bedding on the queen bed. It had a comforter (which was too hot to use given the weather) and the fitted sheet looked dirty. Some thinner quilts or blankets would be great (there were no spare ones we could find), including some newer cotton sheets.
Otherwise, we highly recommend Christina's treehouse!

My family and I stayed at Christina's treehouse for a week, and we loved it. The house was beautifully decorated and had great energy; the land was gorgeous, and we enjoyed the diverse plants and wildlife! Christina provided a lot of suggestions for activities to do around the island, and we enjoyed them. She was also very responsive to our messages. The location was great; near Paradise Cliffs and not far from Hilo. When we return, we will definitely stay here again!

All of our other nights in Hawaii were spent on oceanfront rooms. It was a nice to experience the tropical views of the island in our very own tree house. Love the sounds of the frogs at night and the birds in the morning.

This was an amazing experience at a property that was better than advertised. Exquisite building design, eclectic decor style, and impeccable attention to detail! Plus, the owner was fantastic, with comprehensive and timely communication and support. I would definitely recommend this location for groups of 4 or more friends/family looking for an oasis in Paradise.

So beautiful and tranquil. Feels like your one with nature. Lime tree in back area. All natural shower in back. Cats were very cool, Nala would greet you on porch each morning. Paradise cliffs were amazing that you could walk to. Hilo was a short drive for everything you needed. Would definitely recommend this place!

Location was terrific- walked to ocean cliffs most days. Property is beautifully curated. Lanai is where we spent a lot of time. Small kitchen and steep stairs to the loft were semi-drawbacks but did not detract from the overall scores. My husband keeps asking me to re-book here again :)

Homeowners attention to detail and style create a fantastic experience. Landscaping creates a half jungle paradise.

Better than advertised. We stayed 4 nights, perfect to see all the sights.
The house: Like staying in a jungle.
Outside the grounds are beautiful, private and lush. Plenty of yard for small kids, jungle noise all day (birds) and all night (coqi frogs). It is amazing. Dinner and a lounge area outside on a covered lanai. It rains on and off everyday and this is the place to relax. 2 outdoor showers, beach gear, coolers, towels and more. And the friendliest cat (Nala) who lives on the property.
Inside, fully equipped, funky jungle vibe with all the comforts. Very well stocked home. We stayed upstairs, the small downstairs unit was vacant.
Nearby: Volcano national park, Shipmans beach (a must to swim with huge turtles), ocean vistas a short walk down the road and do drive to Kalapana to the end of the road to see the lava fields. The Pohoiki beach park is also amazing. Soak in the thermal pools.
Overall the best stop on our 3 island adventure.
Thanks.

The house, which my children called the Treehouse, was absolutely beautiful. We loved listening to all the birds and frogs in the jungle surrounding. The house was exquisitely decorated inside and out. Kitchen was well stocked and everything was immaculately clean. Host was great to work with and very responsive. We are dreaming of when we can return.

We had an ideallyic stay at Christina's property. It was private, lush and tropical - we could hear birds and frogs, crickets and geckos! The house was clean and incredibly well stocked. It was comfortable for my toddler (who needed a travel crib and booster seat) and limited what we had to haul on our trip ourselves! Christina responded immediately to our texts and was a helpful and kind host. The property felt safe and I appreciated the attention placed on securing the property.
The location was an easy drive to hilo, several beaches, volcano national park and several more attractions. We will be back again for another visit in the future!!

We came to bike the Big Island and explore Puna after the 2018 lava flow. The treehouse is situated on an acre plot (or so it seemed) completely surrounded by lush green palm and tropical trees and birds. It’s was so spacious, private and clean. Loved the huge lanai that wrapper around two sides of the house, the outdoor showers

When you come to this side of the big island, Christina’s Tree house is a MUST! What an incredible experience my husband and I had at her immaculate, unique and beautiful property. The photos & description were completely accurate and communication with Christina was seamless! We’re already planning to figure out when we can come back! Thank you, Christina, for opening up your special peace of paradise to us!

This was the perfect retreat for our Hawaiian getaway! The setting is perfect and quiet, as far as people go. The frogs lull you to sleep at night and the sound of the rain in the forest outside is so relaxing! We will definitely stay here again next time!

A little remote for some, but quiet, lots of room and a very friendly cat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Christina's gorgeous treehouse in Paradise Park. The grounds were stunning: 2 outdoor showers, lush, tropical plants and trees. The resident feline- 'Nala' was a pure joy for us, she is very sweet and friendly. The home is within walking distance to the cliffs at the ocean. The inside of the home is thoughtfully and beautifully decorated. All the finishing work inside is stunning., you can tell it was decorated and finished with Christina's love of her home. (we were lucky to meet her father -who was very proud of Christina and all her hard work)The beds were very comfortable-with high end bedding.
We were so very happy with stay at the Treehouse!

We loved our stay! The lanai was perfect for sitting out and playing games at night. The grounds were beautiful! The walk to the beach cliffs was enjoyable. The location was good for visiting Volcanoes National Park and Hilo. Nala the kitty was an added bonus.
Christina was very helpful with lots of suggestions of places to go and see.

We absolutely loved our stay at Christina's beautiful home. She has put in so much thought into the decoration and styling of this house.
I stayed with my husband and 3 daughters (ages 13-16). My girls all stayed in the room with the pull out bed, we stayed in the top room. We ended up having a bedroom to spare that went untouched. The beds were so comfortable, each room had a TV, AC was up and working keeping us cool while we were at the house. We would turn everything off when we would leave for the day but it didn't take long for the AC to cool off the house when you got back home and restarted it. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you needed to cook. We enjoyed cooking and having dinner outside in the lanai.
We enjoyed eating from the fruits on the property that were ripe like the star fruit, and Christina left us some coconuts out for us to enjoy, thank you so much!!
The outdoor showers were also handy for our family of 5, especially on the 2 beach days we had to avoid getting any sand in the house and was very refreshing after a long day of activities.
The stars here are a beautiful sight at night. We enjoyed looking up at night. The property is also surrounded by trees so it's very private and people can't see into the property. It's like you're in your own little jungle. I really enjoyed that.
We also enjoyed the company of sweet Nala, one of the cats on the property. She is a very sweet, curious little kitty and would greet us everyday when we came back.
I cannot say enough good things about this property. My only regret was not having a full day of relaxation with nothing to do to just enjoy the property and all it has to offer. I crammed so much during our trip which we got to do all of it. But we were in and out of the house a lot. I would have loved a full day of just relaxing on this beautiful property.
Christina is also an amazing host and attentive to your needs. She saved one of our days as I drove to shipman Beach but I had gone to some odd location it had given me. I contacted Christina to ask for the exact address and she immediately replied and saved the day.
Thank you Christina once again for our amazing stay and your attentiveness. We cannot wait to come stay again in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is such a beautiful setting. Quiet, comfortable, private, and includes so many great amenities. The sounds of rain and wildlife at night were incredible. Our daughter enjoyed the swings and hammock as well as all the rescue cats frolicking in the gardens. We would return again and recommend it to others!

In a word - Perfect
If you’re staying in this part of the Big Island, do not overlook this place. Location is excellent, the vibe of this house is incredible. Wonderfully decorated and lacking nothing. Plentiful indoor and outdoor living space that does not disappoint. Incredible beaches within walking distance, short trip (30 mins) to Hilo, quick ride to grocery stores and restaurants. Communication with the owner is fantastic.
Do not overlook this place…you’ll be disappointed if you do.

The property is so beautiful! My family absolutely loved the house and yard. Easy 20 min drive from many activities, restaurants and grocery stores. Christina was very helpful with suggestions to see in the area and quickly responded to any questions we had. Would absolutely stay again when we visit Hilo area. Mahalo!!

Beautiful home on beautiful property
The house is stunning. I highly, highly recommend that you plan to cook your own food while you stay here. There are very few dining options, which they are all at least a 25 to 30 minute drive away, and most of them close around 8 PM. Also, since they are still only opening at half capacity, you will need reservations virtually anywhere you go, and in our experience, the food is nothing to write home about. There is also no nightlife in this area, which was fine for us, but if that’s what you’re looking for this is not the place for you. If you want a nice base camp from which to launch a Big Island Adventures, however, this is a quiet neighborhood a short walk from lava cliffs with easy access to the various routes around and across the island, and the house and property is beautiful and comfortable. You will definitely want to rent a car.

RISKY to book this - just book elsewhere.
But if you REALLY want to stay here, book it on a site that offers better guest protections than VRBO (VRBO takes owners sides more often in conflicts and leaves guests on their own - so sad). The property itself is very nice. But the host likes conflict and drama. When I stay somewhere I like peace and quiet. Any chance she got, she accused us of breaking rules and attempted to extract more money from us. She even sent people regularly to the property for various reasons including checking up on us. She gaslights and projects her own bad behavior onto guests and this has caused us a lot of stress and grief these past few weeks. She'll probably reply to this review by saying we broke rules or caused damage. Just know that her idea of broken rules is bringing dogs when the listing says it allows pets, and her idea of damage is a broken glass or other normal wear and tear things. She will exaggerate anything you can think of to be your fault and blow it out of proportion somehow.

One Month Stay November 2020
Like living in the trees. Birds in the morning, frogs at night and ocean pounding waves can often be heard. Many separate spaces in a small home makes it seem larger. 1 acre property no neighbors to either side. Lanai is large and comfortable. Nice walking area. Beds are good. Would return.

Dale and Christina were the perfect hosts at the perfect property. Before we arrived, communication was very efficient and helpful. We found their place easily, even though we were exhausted and it was late, pitch black and we had driven across the entire island after a long flight! We pulled up to twinkling lights and what looked like an absolute dream. It was beautiful beyond our expectations. We were prepared for being in the jungle, so we expected it to be very dark and very quiet (human noise) - sure enough, all we could hear were the ocean waves, the singing frogs and birds. We loved the nature sounds and miss them now that were home! Dale and Christina have thought of every comfort, from fresh towels to local recommendations. We checked out a few of the spots they recommended and loved them! They were happy to chat but also readily respected our privacy, which was such a gift considering we were in their home! They let our kids pick fresh fruit from their trees, play with their sweet, gentle and calm dog, and roam freely around their beautiful expansive yard. The location is great too, only 15-30 minute drive to neighboring towns such as Pahoa or Hilo, just a couple of our favourites. We took a day trip to the West side of the island (a 2 hour drive to busy beautiful Kona) and couldnt wait to return to this jungle paradise. The accommodations themselves are designed beautifully and very comfortable. Cant wait to return!
