The house is beautiful, spacious and homely. The estate is peaceful and great 😊
1. The housekeeping needs to improve; found hairs from previous guests in the shower, the appliances needed sanitising (e.g. the dishwasher; the washing machine is smelly)
2. On day 2 at the house we experienced a sound along the passageway and 2 of the bedrooms, we reported to housekeeping as it was loud and kept us up at night, it was checked and it turned out there was an issue with the sprinklers, but no one came to fix it till the last day
3. The installation of the UPS during our stay took an entire day (on Thursday) so was a bit intrusive.
4. One of the neighbours on our street, had 2 big dogs that were left free to roam around terrorising anyone who dared to go for a walk. One of them even came to our yard to bark at us🤨. Aren’t people required to ensure their pets don’t bug others in this estate?
For the cost of the accommodation we deserved better, we will not be returning, unfortunately.

The value for money and location are unmatched! loads of space for a group travelling together.
There is really not anything to complain about. Two small things that can maybe be improved are, the WiFi signal can maybe be strengthened a bit and it would’ve been great if there was a power source during loadshedding. But it is understandable that not all properties can have this.

Beautiful surroundings, beautiful house, good service, friendly staff. Can you ask for more?
Finely chopped wood to make a fire with?!
5.0
Ambiance, scenery and comfort
Load shedding as much as its beyond anyone's control and there were sufficient lights provided, the host needs to invest on a solar system. Likely it happened during daylight, so it was not an inconvenience.

Everything. It was beautiful
That there was no garden furniture outside on the lawn. Everything was under cover.

The house is amazing
Temperatures dropped to 5 degrees Celsius outside. House got very cold and the fireplace was just not effective enough in the open plan lounge & kitchen space. Perhaps owner could consider 2 mobile gas heaters in that space.
4.5
The only thing missing is some outside seating. The garden and the view are beautiful and some comfy outside chairs or loungers would have been wonderful. Although there is a lovely open patio, we wanted to sit outside in the winter sun (we had a picnic blanket with us and had to make do with that).
5.0
The kitchen was a bit short of cooking utensils
3.5
House was a bit stark....not very homely or inviting.
Really cold as aircon heater in lounge did not work and other heaters not effective.
5.0
It was spacious, and catererd for all our needs, the fireplace with the big bean bag was a big hit!
Coming from the North Coast where it is still quite warm for this part of year, the cold weather was a welcome relief..and many nights were spend in front of the indoor fireplace.
We liked everything about the place..

Beautiful home. Beautiful property. Would highly recommend to a large family.
Home is badly maintained, lots wasn't working sadly. Could do with a bit of personal touch.
4.5
Beautiful house in a lovely location.
5.0
The house is beautiful and met all our expectations.
3.5
The house was very well appointed and comfortable for a big family.
Only on arrival were we informed (copious rules plastered all over the fridge) that short-term guests cannot use the many facilities available at Gowrie Farm. The fishing dams were off limits under pain of a hefty fine and this was one of the main reasons we booked the stay for our young children. Further, any walking on the golf course or farm land was off limits as was the swimming pool and tennis courts. Apparently this was a new change to the rules the host informed us - unfortunate as anyone who knows the estate would be disappointed to find out you are basically under house arrest once you enter the estate as a short-term guest. One does not feel welcome at all - won’t be going back!

House need some maintenance - gutters, damp issues
