This house was perfect for my friends and I to come together for a weekend visit back to our college. The mountain was beautiful for the fall and had options for places to go in the resort. We had plenty of space to hang out together. The extra parking made it easier to navigate the steep driveway. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and appreciated the communication with the host.

We stayed here because we wanted to celebrate my dad’s 75th birthday and the location made for a great meeting place for my brother and I. We really didn’t know much about the area. Turned out there was a lot to do around the house, even walking distance to playgrounds, parks and trails. A few minutes to drive to mini golf, go carts, tennis court..
house was great in that three bedrooms up and down with kitchen and living space on each flioor gave everyone room to spread out.

We loved this property! We had several brown families together for a reunion weekend and couldn’t have been happier. Everyone said their beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed several meals and games in groups on both floors. Although the hot tub wasn’t working, Evan was quick to respond. He really made us feel welcomed and appreciated!

We had a long weekend with extended family here and had a great time! We enjoyed hiking, breweries ,and a winery. The house was very clean! There were some things that need updating/ fixed and driveway like everyone says is a little harry but we just guided people as they pulled in or backed down. Bring large black trash bags for the kitchen garbage can. We had plenty of room to spread out and were able to play cornhole on the lower porch( and only had to chase a few bags off the porch.

The house was big and clean. The resort was nice. The owner was great. The only complaint is the driveway. It was tricky pulling in and out because of the slope and the angle.

Fun mountain getaway
We enjoyed very nice weekend James Madison university‘s graduation with all the family. House was clean and had two large living spaces. Our only downside would be the very steep driveway and one room which said four twins only had two.

Lovely weekend getaway
This was a great location for a group of friends to meet up for the weekend. We enjoyed the hot tub, views of the creek, and nearby hiking. The house is spacious and well-appointed for cooking meals, playing games, and hanging out.
As others have said, the driveway is steep and narrow, best for small cars with rear-view cameras. There is overflow parking elsewhere in the resort.
Also, fair warning that the HVAC unit outside the window of the downstairs master bedroom is VERY noisy - don't put a light sleeper in that room!

Overall, a great property
This is great property, with just a few exceptions. As mentioned in other reviews, the driveway is not for the feint of heart. The not so brave drivers easily parked along the road, careful to have all tires off the pavement. We could not get the downstairs oven to work and a few of the dining chairs were broken. We also had trouble finding the garbage dumpster, as it had been moved. That being said, communication with Evan was super fast and efficient. He couldn’t have been nicer. The main kitchen was well equipped . Some spices were provided as well as olive oil. The main living level was very roomy and comfortable. The wall of windows gave a gorgeous view of the trees ! Our large extended family had a great time at this house!!

The house was perfect for our annual 'Friendsgiving' weekend getaway. There was plenty of room and the house had everything we needed. The driveway is pretty steep and a little tricky to navigate, but that's the only negative. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice place, great location.
My university organization rented this property and held our annual retreat at this location. We had 10 people (faculty & students) and it was perfect. The upstairs living room and downstairs game provided excellent meeting space. It did not feel crowded. Bedrooms were spacious. Decks were fantastic for meeting as well. Drive-way is very, very steep and hard to maneuver in anything like a large vehicle and traction is spotty. Overall, would definitely rent again in we have 12 or less persons.

Perfect for large family gatherings
My family gathered here from NC and VA to take a family photo, and the house met all of our needs. There was room for four adult couples to have each a bedroom and then two sets of siblings each had a room. There are two en-suite bedrooms, and the remaining bedrooms share two bathrooms - basically the upstairs and downstairs mirror each other. The kitchen was well stocked, except for wine glasses, but there plenty of other types of glassware. The hot tub was a great bonus feature, and we cooked out on the deck one night, too. The resort itself was also a bonus, and I we took our family photos overlooking Painters Lake. We saw plenty of deer and other wildlife, and really enjoyed the scenery. We visited Harrisonburg, and can highly recommend Magpie Diner and Clementines.

Summer Mountain House
Keyless entry was good. The front door access jammed though the second time we needed access to get in the house. We got in by pulling outward on the door knob, then entering the combination, then it worked. We believe it worked because the keyless entry bolt was stuck and we had to pull on the door knob to release the bolt.
The air conditioning worked great. There are exposed floor nails at the front door inside entrance where the floor molding is missing. There are loose and warped deck boards that need to be screwed down or replaced. The basement stove shut off while we were cooking and shut down completely. The 8 dining table chair legs were very loose and wobbly. The hot tub was very nice but some jets did not work. Several frying pans were warped and would not sit flat on the burners. People need to be advised that vehicles should be carefully maneuvered on the steep driveway. I was surprised to see cobwebs on the metal chairs by the front door as well as on the oitside deck.

Great getaway spot
We stayed here with a small group of friends to take a break from the city. The location and amenities are fantastic, with lots of restaurants and activities close by. The pool table and hot tub made it a fun place to hang out, as did the large decks that are surrounded by woods and a creek. Would definitely book this place again.

Just ok
Stayed here 3 nights with a group of 6 kids and 7 adults. Yes, the driveway is pretty rough but we were able to fit 2 mid size SUV's and 2 full size dually pick ups off of the road and in relatively flat spots in the driveway. The bigger problem was that we had to make a run to the local store to get toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bag as there was an extremely limited supply in the home. One of the living room couches is also broken and basically unusable. There were not enough sheets to make up all of the beds. Overall, the location right on the golf course was nice and it is in a convenient location to activities in the area.

We had a great time time!
Two families together with three teenagers 15,15 and 16 - they had the lower apartment ( including snooker table which they loved) : we stayed mostly upstairs. Lots of walking, some tubing and skiing, and family meals round the big table. We even finished a 1000 piece jigsaw!

Great rental with beautiful views
We rented the house for a short family vacation. We had 8 adults 6 young adults and 3 small children. There was enough room for everyone. The 2 kitchens were especially nice and everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The house was clean and the owner was very easy to get a hold of if the need arose. We had a great time and will definitely rent again when we come back.

This vacation was one of the best, The home was beautiful, it was everything my family and I was looking for. We take a family vacation every year at a ski resort But this was by far our best Mostly due to the Convenience of the home since there were so many of us. The 2 kitchens came in handy because we had 17 people Vacationing together. I would recommend this highly, and plan on going back again this upcoming year, To the same home.

Great Stay!
House and location were very nice - plenty of room for 9 adults/grown children. The driveway is a bit of a challenge, especially for the number of people the house accommodates, and 5 cars is a stretch - there is space for a car or two at the top of the driveway so that helps. We were not able to get the coded entry to work, so a second set of keys in the lockbox would be helpful with a large group. The house had everything we needed and the owner was accessible and very prompt to assist with any questions we had. The hot tub was great!

Mountain Getaway
Our group of 16 rented this house for a short mountain getaway. Prior to even going, the owner called and gave us a run down of the house and area. I thought that was a great touch. The house was as advertised and there was space for all of us. Having two separate living areas was excellent because it gave the adults and kids their own hang out areas. The kids enjoyed the hot tub too! The driveway was steep, but that seemed normal for the area. All around a great time!
