We had a very nice stay at this nostalgic cabin. We kayaked, hiked, did puzzles and cards and swam in the pool. We took a day trip to Annapolis. The only thing that we weren’t prepared for is not being able to get in the water due to the over abundance of jellyfish. Otherwise it was a pleasant family vacation.

We had a great time.

Family vacation. 2 boys, ages 9 and 11, who are talking about returning every year. Cottage was cute and we'll appointed. The walk to the closest beach was fine. Boating had to be done by driving to a different beach. The kitchen had everything we needed. Would have been great to have an outside plug to plug the Tesla into. Air conditioning worked great, but bed in loft was unusable because of extraordinary heat outside the week we were there, so my son slept on an air mattress on the floor. The "single bed" is not actually a bed but rather a daybed with thin mattress in the living room. Access to the pool was great, in a wonderfully run community. Would repeat a stay there if we were to return.

This is the second time we have rented this cabin. We hope there will be a 3rd, a 4th, etc....There are not enough superlatives to accurately describe the cabin and surrounding area. If you rent this property, you will never have a regret.

The property description does not exaggerate the gloriousness of the view! We had a delightful and relaxing weekend at Stone's Throw. The house has all the necessities, proximity to well-maintained hiking trails, and a lovely neighborhood - all in addition to the view. We hope to be back!

We loved our stay in this picture perfect cabin! Can’t wait to come back for more eagle watching, shark tooth hunting, and beach combing. A lovely, well equipped, comfortable home with just the right balance of modern amenities and old school charm. Thank you!

Very clean. Television reception iffy.

As an historic cottage, it had a cozy, comfortable feeling. Kitchen was well stocked with essentials. Owners were very prompt to respond to questions and give information. We loved the ease of access to the cliffs and beach. Make sure you get up in time for the sunrise!!

Another great stay at Stones Throw! Ginny was quick to reply to questions and even offered a Plan B with hurricane Ophelia coming through.
We saw an Eagle three times, did three puzzles (all 500 pieces accounted for!) and found some pretty cool fossils. We can’t wait to come back!

I run out of superlatives when describing the area. The natural beauty is superb, the friendliness of the people/community, the feeling that you are in the middle of nowhere but 10 minutes from a town that has everything you could ask for, a log cabin feel with embedded tech to keep everyone happy/connected, the wildlife, the view you wake up to every morning - and the one you see at night. There is also plenty to do within a decent drive in almost all directions. Every year there is a little improvements (or sometimes big) here and there but this place has not lost it's charm.

Cute little cabin was perfect for a family getaway! Not set up for young children, but easily adaptable. Location can't be beat!

Thank you Ginny for an AMAZING vacation at your beautiful cabin on the bay. Words alone cannot do justice in the experience we had staying at your home in Scientists Cliffs. From sunrise to sunset we were out in the mystical beauty that this timeless land had to offer! I highly recommend your cabin and Scientist Cliffs for a long vacation stay. WE WILL BE BACK! THANK YOU!

My family had a wonderful stay at Stone's Throw. We LOVED the little beach that was within walking distance and spent many hours hunting for fossils and playing on the beach. We can't wait to visit again soon!

Stones Throw is a great place to slow down and enjoy being where you are. From the fantastic rear ocean view to the small beaches within walking distance there is always something to do. Easy wind down while also making it easy to get a toddler back for nap time. The cabin is great and well equipped and the host is great about clarifying the few things you need to bring.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at this peaceful cottage. The owner was super quick with communicating and very accomodating to our numerous questions. This cottage is rustic, clean, comfortable and has a well stocked kitchen, not to mention the million dollar view. To add, the pool is awesome (check the hours and rules, if with kids) and the private community beach is totally wonderful. We had so much fun hunting for shark teeth! We would return to this property in a heartbeat!!

The home was just as described and a fun place to retreat for a long weekend. The neighborhood beach was an extra special treat.

We had a wonderful stay at Stone's Throw! It was exactly as described and had everything we needed! We felt at home the moment we arrived there and are hoping to go back again sometime soon! We spent a few days exploring the area and hunting for sharks teeth on the beach with our two children and loved every minute of our stay! Thank you again Ginny!

The house had a beautiful view and we loved the neighborhood. Great communication with the owner. We would love to return.

The log cabin was charming with everything we needed and more in excellent condition.
The setting with the view of the bay was perfect. Our neighbor across the street allowed my 12 yr. old grandson to view her koi pond and shared history of the community.
We were invited to see the Chestnut Cabin to view the Cliffs’ Museum artifacts collected over the years. Tools to search for fossils and shark’s teeth were provided for us to use. And yes, we found shark’s teeth, fossils, shells, and a perfect size bamboo reed laying on the ground that my grandson is going to add eyelets to for a fishing rod.
Our last night we viewed a perfect, huge rainbow from the cabin that we took many photos of.
I'm planning my next stay already.

A quiet break to Calvert Cliffs was what the Doctor ordered!

I live in an area of constant traffic noise and sirens. It is so quiet and peaceful here, it’s wonderful. I love hunting for sharks teeth, walking on a mostly deserted beach, watching the eagles zoom and the stars at night. I have stayed a number of times and as soon as I get home, I start planning my next visit.
4.9
Enjoyed sitting in the yard looking over the bay as beautiful butterflies and eagles put on a show. The sunrises were spectacular. We also enjoyed the full moon on the water and watching bedazzled cruise ships in the evening as Great Horned Owls hooted back and forth thru the woods behind us.

This cabin was exactly what I needed. Despite the rainy weather it still provided a retreat and relaxing environment to work, create and relax. The internet was very strong which was perfect for my work and writing. And lots of entertainment options. The views were amazing and when the rain cleared it was fun to get down to the beach. The host were also wonderful very communicative and answered all my questions. Worth considering if looking for a getaway!

Do I seem like the type of guy to rent the same place for years and years now ? Nope. This place is special. The whole experience is a hidden gem in so many ways. The cabin is of course rustic but you have every modern amenity you could ever need to feel at digital home (without any of it cramping that rustic feel). The view over the bay in the mornings is worth the price by itself! But wait, there is more. You are only a 10 minute drive from the town proper to excellent food and plenty of shopping options (supermarkets etc.). So you can go out on the town and then retreat back into the cozy alcove that is the cliffs neighborhood (and the people are so nice - genuinely!). There are also plenty of nature parks within driving distance (and a lighthouse). Or you could just walk for hours along the cliffs nearly having the beach all to yourself. This place gets under your skin in only the best way.

The cabin is very comfortable and the view is amazing. We enjoyed watching the ships on the water and the eagles and osprey flying overhead. Scientists Cliffs is such a unique community and it was fun to walk the beach while searching for shark teeth and fossils. Hope to return again soon!

My family came to Scientist Cliffs in honor of my son who died a year ago; it was his favorite place. He had visited a handful of times with a friend’s family. Hoping we could experience it, too, he had made plans that came to fruition posthumously. We were able to send some of his ashes into the Bay and share his love of the actual home and terrain. We are most grateful.

Our family loved the entire experience of staying at this cabin. From the private beaches and fossil/shark tooth hunting to the close proximity to DC and everything in between it was a top notch vacation. Would love to stay here again.

We had a delightful short stay in this cabin. So lucky to rent the cabin for a summer weekend. We enjoyed hiking, swimming & relaxing. The cabin is rustic and lovely.

We had a great time at the house. Walking the cliffs and relaxing at the beach was great.

Nirvana!
An awesome venue with fantastic owners. All went as planned. Family had owned a place in the Cliffs but sold it a couple years back. We decided to go back and found this gem to rent. So relaxing right on the Bay, watching the birds catch fish and the ships navigate the channel. Just sitting on the porch drinking coffee and watching the sunrise made the trip from Maine worthwhile. We had a small glitch with the AC when we arrived. Ginny and her husband jumped all over it and it was repaired immediately. Great responsiveness! I can't recommend this cabin enough. If you stay here you will not regret a minute. One last thing, do yourselves a favor and visit the Running Hare Vineyard. Maybe 20 minutes away. It was the icing on the cake!

I have rented this property a number of times and just love it.
The absolute peace and quiet is wonderful and we had the beach to ourselves. Can't wait to go back.

We had a lovely visit to this traditional Scientists' Cliffs cabin. The view over the bay was lovely and peaceful. The cabin itself was very cozy, clean, and comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything needed for meals. Our host, Ginny, provided excellent communication and our check in was easy and efficient. I highly recommend this vrbo and Scientists' cliffs in general. We enjoyed our walks along the beach and found lots of sharks teeth!

By and large, it was a delightful visit. The neighborhood is amazing. The house was comfortable and welcoming. Morning coffee cliffside was the best part of the day. And Ginny was very responsive.
Though there are a few things.
* It was strange to learn that we had to bring our own bed linen and towels. Especially when there was a cabinet full of bed linen in the larger bedroom. I would have gladly paid more not to bring my own towels and linens.
* I slept in the smaller bedroom and the cooler temps invited open windows. The neighbors HVAC system is relentlessly noisy and made for miserable nights for an VRBO. Can this be remedied?
* I was disappointed to learn after booking that the fireplace is inoperable.
* The expectation to squeegee the shower glass after use, to sweep the entire cottage, and the constant removal of stink bugs? Again, I would pay more not to have this obligation.

This was our first trip to Scientist Cliffs and we had a WONDERFUL time. The cabin was perfect - cliff side views, cozy reading spots, clean and well-maintained! We hiked, we biked, we searched for sharks teeth on the beach, we played tennis, but mostly we relaxed in the calming quiet environment.
The owners were wonderful - very responsive, provided great recommendations, and were incredible accommodating. We will definitely be making a return trip to Scientist Cliffs and would love to stay at this cabin again!
