We loved our time in this house, It had everything we need (towels, beach stuff, dishes, great air conditionning, 3 confortable beds, board games…) and a nice exterior table. It is well located. The host is very welcoming. I recommand.

Flight late arriving which caused stressful check in with property manager who was upset.
Property manager should be patient with renters on day of check in.

We have been to Hawaii a few times and this location has been our favorite so far. The beach that is maybe a five minute walk was awesome. It was perfect for our kids to play at. The beach only had a few people there each day we were there. We would definitely book this location with Vic again. Thanks again!!

Vic was wonderful to work with. Our stay was amazing! I would book this home again! Thanks Vic!

Loved our time here. Cute patio table, great kitchen and living room area. Close walk to the beach in a neat neighborhood. Beds and bedrooms were comfy. Love that it slept our crew of 6 so comfortably. Property manager was attentive and available as needed.

Very clean, quiet and accommodating. Only 5 minute walk from the beach. Truly a nice area to stay.

Overall state was very good. The traffic on the street at night is extremely noisy especially for a person sleeping in the bed in the living room. It’s very close to the windows. The cottage is neat and clean, however, using any of the boogie board/outdoor equipment, was impossible due to condition of them.
We did have guests staying in the studio for part of our trip. They are very close and you can hear them working in their kitchen when you are sitting outside at your table it’s not as private as we would have liked it to be. The beach is absolutely spectacular and for that location can’t be beat. However, there really is nothing close to walk to. Host was approachable and when we needed him, he was easily reachable. Overall a great stay!

Oh the East side of the island. The 2 bedroom house was comfortable and having a full kitchen was great. Also, walking to one of the best beaches in Waimanalo to watch the sunrise and swim. Definitely a place to “E komo mai”

Perfect size home for us and just a stones throw from a great family beach.

We chose the house based on location and previous reviews. It did not disappoint! It easily held my family of four, offering a bed for both kids to have their own area. The house is on the corner of the street, located right off the main road right through town so you will hear traffic. A fan was provided so that helped drown out noise at night and early morning for anyone sleeping mountain side. The mountains right outside the door are beautiful! The beach is literally at the end of the road. Beach towels were provided as were chairs, umbrellas and toys. We appreciated that greatly. If you go to the beach early enough they’re is a small area to park. The neighborhood felt safe to walk at night. L & L is right up the road as was a local grocery store. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again!

It was a very cozy and laidback place. We enjoyed the daycare singing local songs, occasionally okd mcdonalds farm too and playing. We loved the local feel rather than tourist waikiki feel. Of the clincher was the 3 mile long Waimānalo Beach which was easy walk never crowded and my opinion best beach in Oahu. Very good down home local restaurants and more upscale just a few minutes away in Kailua. My daughters wedding took place at Kalama Beach club close by. I enjoyed the local neighborhood trees and flowers as much as the botanical gardens when walking to the beach.

Vic was such a wonderful host. The house was perfect for our family (4yr old son). Amenities were great, fully functional kitchen. The rooster in the neighborhood was up bright and early but that’s going to happen in any residential neighborhood on the island. We didn’t mind. The walk to beach was perfect and Kailua and Bellows were just down the way. So much more relaxing than Waikiki. The house has beach chairs, toys, boogie boards and we donated a few toys as well for the next family. Great price for the location. We would highly recommend and would stay again. Mahalo for the family memories.

First time using VRBO. The owner was jovial and informative. The property was just a short walk to what was a quiet beach. Most days we only saw a few people walking the beach. The house was well appointed with everything we needed for a great vacation. Couldn't be more pleased.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this home. It was so close to the beach. We traveled with our 7, 9 and 11 year old and everyone was comfortable. They loved the boogie boards, beach toys and we were thankful for the chairs and the wagon to bring everything the short block to the beach entrance. We did read about the proximity to the main street, and we were, it really didn't bother us.
If you are looking for 5 star luxury hotel accommodation this isn't your place. If you want a house with what you need, comfortable beds, and a great location in a cute neighborhood then this is your place. Great little coffee place next to the ice cream store just down the road. Beaches that you won't find on other parts of the island and so many places nearby to see and explore

Thank you Vic and Karla for our wonderful stay in Oahu! Our kids absolutely had the best time of their lives staying here during our family vacation. They were amazed waking up to a beautiful mountain view. The house is nice and clean. There’s plenty of parking at the house. The walk to the beach is very short. We will definitely come back!

Click the reserve button for this location. the property owners were very helpful. While you ay not be able to see the ocean from the house, it truly is just a short walk to the beach. AHHH the beach, it has a beautiful sunrise, soft waves, warm sand and you can easily return to the house for meals. The house is older so don't expect new build finishes, but the beds are comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and everything you need for a memorable trip. Just do it, click reserve.

The experience at the glass ball hideaway was such an amazing experience. The best part of the property is that it’s location is a 5 minute walk from the beach. We met our host Vic who gave us such a warm welcome and a walkthrough of the house. This place is for family or a couple who want to stay away from the crowds of tourist and enjoy a comforts and tranquility of people who live in Oahu. We didn’t want to leave, but we will definitely come back to Vic and Karla’s little hideaway.

A very loud house
With the 20 + houses we have stayed at through vrbo, this is probably the loudest house we have ever stayed at . The house is located right next to a major highway, it doesn’t look much on google map but the single lane highway is a major road on the island and the traffic runs throughout the night. The house is equipped with a single pane window so the traffic never quiets down. We bought ear plugs after the first night and that provided little help, simply from all the traffic and trucks that take that road . My children were very excited to leave the house because they couldn’t sleep .
The other huge disadvantage of the house is that it provides little privacy, there is another caretaker who also lives on the property and his bathroom faces directly at the picnic table. Imagine having a breakfast while listening to another persons bodily function in the bathroom.
Overall it was not a pleasant stay but it provided a shorter walk to Waimanalo beach which was a plus.

A Hui Hou!
Returning home after 11 years, this beautiful home made us feel as if we never left! Located on the Windward side of Oahu, we had the most amazing beaches, best food, friendliest people, and scenic views right at our fingertips! Vic was so professional and treated us like Ohana ! He made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond with his Aloha!! We are sure to return! Mahalo Nui Loa Vic & Karla,! A Hui Hou!

This property was perfect for my family of six. What we appreciated the most was that it felt like we were staying in a home, rather than a resort. Highlights include a five minute walk to the beach, air conditioning, comfy beds, beach toys and plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Potential low-lights include road noise, school next door and dated amenities. We are looking at booking this property again next year. We absolutely loved our stay!

My family (2 adults, 3 teens and a tween) stayed in the home for 2 weeks, it was perfect in so many ways!! Very spacious, everything you could need for a relaxing vacation. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, a good selection of beach gear, more than enough towels (for everyday use and the beach), and a clothesline to hang everything on. The house was a 5 minute stroll to a beautiful uncrowded beach through a quiet and friendly neighborhood. A 15-20 minute drive gets you to grocery stores and restaurants. Vic is such a great host, welcoming, answers any questions you have and has a great collection of maps and guide books to use. This is really the perfect home for your family get away and we cannot wait to come back!

Family Getaway
Our stay at Vic and Karla's was lovely. They communicated very well with me as we planned the trip, and they offered many resources to help us stay informed and safe. The place was clean and had what we needed. The beach is beautiful and truly a short walk away. The town of Waimanalo is also cute and had what we needed. The location of the house and the town were fabulous for our trip, as we wanted to explore beaches and come back to a home base.

We really enjoyed our stay, we were very comfortable there. The morning sunrises were breathtaking. Loved staying in Waimanalo.

Waimanalo Dreams
Vic and Karla were very easy to work with. Our Ohana thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Glass Ball House which was just a short walk to the beautiful shores of Waimanalo. The home was much more spacious than expected with a terrific view of the Ko’olau Mountains out front. It is a corner home off the main road so traffic can be heard at times but this did not bother us at all. We had a wonderful time filled with cherished memories and can’t wait to return! Vic and Karla,.. Mahalo for the opportunity to stay in your home! Aloha and best wishes!

What a wonderful place!! Very close to the most beautiful beach in O'ahu. House was perfect and had everything we needed. Loved the outdoor table and chairs. Can't wait to come again.

Couldn't have been more perfect
Vic and Karla truly have an amazing property... the moment we pulled into the driveway I was in tears. This house was perfect. I could literally hear the ocean from their driveway.
Vic was always very quick to respond to emails leading up to the trip and was waiting for us when we arrived- which was so nice considering our plane was delayed and we got in so late at night!
The house was honestly so clean, spacious and everything was exactly how it looked in the pictures. Honestly I could talk for days about how much we enjoyed our vacation... and a huge reason for loving it so much was Vic and Karla's house.
NOTE: our vacation was during COVID and we came from Chicago... and we felt VERY safe the entire time.

Duplex
The property description failed to disclose that the attached garage has been converted into two additional rentals. Vic told us about the "caretaker" living there when we checked in, but did not mention the other guy that was living there. We realized that there was a second guy on site after a couple of days. The clothes line is community property. While the guys kept a low profile, the concept of privacy was gone for us. The window to the one unit was feet from the patio. We knew when he took a shower and on evening while sitting on the patio, we had to listen to him snore. More like living in a duplex than a house.

Things were good but could be better
Communication with owner is good. House wasn’t ready for us on time & the house definitely wasn’t cleaned to an acceptable level, especially with Covid-19 pandemic. We were not given advanced notice that a care taker lived in garage of house full time until after we arrived to Oahu. The neighborhood & location are amazing. The house is close to a major road and can be loud at times. Overall we enjoyed our trip.

Amazing!
Everyone has that place that feels like home away from home. Waimanalo beach is mine. When our old place that we would rent went up for sale we were heartbroken. I am ecstatic to have found Vic's place. Perfect location. Perfect amenities, everything you could ask for. A short walk to the best beach in the world and I could literally watch the sunrise every day for the rest of my life. We have a family of 6 and we were perfectly comfortable. Having the school as a neighbor is amazing, singing and laughing mixed with the sounds of the waves. You are on a main road that creates easy access to all the local businesses. We absolutely loved our stay. Thank you so much for having us in your home and we hope to see you again soon.

Great Community
We really enjoyed the community in and around the Glass ball hideaway along with the home itself for its amenities. Overall a very positive experience. The school children singing each morning was very nice.
Since we are use to very little noise due to living in the country (no traffic) we found the road noise the only negative. Thank you to our hosts.

Nice relaxing location. Wonderful beach. Vic was very responsive to our needs. We found the people in this small community very friendly.

Great location for a family getaway
The home owners are great to work with, the home is in a nice location with an easy walk to a beautiful beach. I would stay here again!

Short walk to an amazing beach!
We enjoyed our short stay in Waimanalo. It is a beautiful area and just a block from the most picturesque beach. The home is well-stocked with all of the beach stuff you might need- chairs, towels, umbrellas, boogie boards, sand toys and more. There was plenty of room for our family of 6 to sleep. Waimanalo doen'st have lots of stuff to do, but that's the point! And, it's easy to get into Honolulu or the north shore for a day trip. Vic was there to greet us upon arrival and was very friendly and answered all of our questions. The only thing that I would change is to have comfier pillows. Other than that we were very pleased with our stay and would love to go back!
