The location is perfect, the hosts are so friendly and the surroundings are just beautiful. You can swim in the waterfall that’s just 1 minute walk away (bring earplugs if you are slight sleeper), observe nature and learn a lot about local plants and animals from the host. Room was spacious and clean and the food was very tasty. The prices for the dinner are a bit higher than usual but all is self-made and partially self grown so it’s worth paying a little extra.

After my booking confirmed, the owener lied to me that they are Closed. Cannot trust booking that property through booking.com as the owner is a big lier.

Absolutely amazing owner and family. So nice and helpfull, made our stay one to remember. The place is tucked away in beautiful lush rainforest, rooms very clean and food was great. Glass room was amazing with clear view of all animals and nature. 10/10. Will come back.

Very clean and comfortable, stunning views from the bedroom and eating room with full glass walls giving directly onto the forest! Food was exceptional, some of the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka. Very attentive staff.
Very minor point but could give a bit more information on arrival about the different activities available. We were asked if we wanted to do the day hike, which was great, but I hear they also offer cooking classes and night hikes which we didn’t hear about - but to be fair, we did not ask!

We only managed to have one day here but it was one of the best places I've ever stayed at for many reasons but especially the kindness and knowledge of the owners and of our trek guide. It is well worth the journey. Everything was beautiful - the food, location, room, trek, communication with our host, travel organised for us, the wildlife, the stream.
Nothing for us. It was a fantastic experience. Some people might find the trek arduous though we, as a group of arthritic oldies, managed fine.

A unique experience to stay in a place where a waterfall is just 30 meters away and the rainforest, along with its diverse life, is right outside the window. We went on a 5-hour hike with a very knowledgeable guide and got to know various plants and animals. The rainforest and the hidden waterfalls were beautiful, as well as the complimentary fish pedicure. Our boys, aged 17 and 23, really enjoyed this wild adventure. It's entirely comparable to a similar experience we had in Costa Rica before. The hosts of the accommodation were competent and professional, the food was excellent, and the portions were generous. If you're looking for something special and haven't experienced the rainforest up close before, then go there.

A quaint little place in the middle of the forest run by a lovely family
Due to excessive rain the leeches were a bit of a problem

The family room is splendid, an isolated glass capsule in the middle of the jungle, overlooking the jungle and the waterfall!!! Reserve this room even if you are just a couple.
Junith and Melisha are super friendly and caring... Making sure all is perfect.
A truly amazing jungle expirience.... Don't miss it
Nothing... All is super

The location amid the vegetation, the waterfall right next to the lodge, the excellent food and the service and attention provided. The trekking in the rainforest accompanied by a knowledgeable guide was one of the highlights together with the night walk around the lodge.

Nature all around. Wonderful family hosting us and taking care about our needs and wishes. Food was excellent- home made according to your- guest’s needs.Fresh juses - exotic, excellent mojito prepared by the lady of the house. I regret that I couldn’t stay a day longer and take part in a village tour and have another homemade dish.
If you are sensitive, you may be surprised meeting a bug in your room

It's a once in a lifetime experience to wake up in the middle of the forest by the noise of the monkeys in a beautiful glass bungalow. The hospitality of the hosts was as spectacular and the tour they organized for us with 3 small kids through the jungle we will never forget. And the food the landlady prepared was the most delicious of our whole stay so far. Don't miss to stay there if you are in Sri Lanka.
Everything exceeded our expectations.

The guest house is built on a steep forested slope adjacent to a beautiful waterfall. It is surrounded by forest vegetation and creatures, and the lovely host will look for things to show you and tell you about. Above the rooms there is a large opensided common area looking into the treetops. Here meals are served and it is a great place to while away time after an early morning Safari into Sinharaja Forest. The food is home-cooked using ingredients grown on the property, and is spectacular – the best we have encountered in Sri Lanka.
Nothing.

It was the best hotel experience we had. the owner janith and his wife were very friendly and hospitable. Food was very delicious. The room was right next to the waterfall. This is a place with high biodiversity. Exceptional place to relax. Hope to be there again.....

First up the food is amazing, and believe me I've tasted many a great dish across many countries and continents. The husband and wife team work tirelessly to make sure everything you want is catered for. Access to the Sinharaja is close you can get a guide all organised by the owner. The environment is very back to nature as you are essentially living in the middle of a rainforest. It was magical. You're living a stones throw from a waterfall!!
That I had to leave, I could honestly live there

The hotel area is a bit on the side and the road ahead is sometimes poor as it can often be in Sri Lanka. The entrance to the hotel is accessed via steep stairs. But once there, a wonderful little hotel opens up in the rainforest with a waterfall and a natural swimmable pool. The host couple Janieth and Maniesha at the hotel are fantastically nice and service-minded.
I was served a delicious tasty and freshly prepared breakfast along with coffee that the owners of the hotel grow and roast themselves. Very tasty, must be tried. For dinner there is a menu with many options and also here freshly prepared and very tasty. The hotel also offers arranged hiking tours in the rainforest together with a trained guide. A fantastically nice affordable and familiar hotel on the edge of the rainforest that can really be recommended.

We were very kindhearted welcomed when we arrived and had a beautiful stay here. The accommodation is very clean and unique. We were overwhelmed by the big windows and that view from the room. Janith showed us the rainforest and waterfall wich is just 1min away. There we enjoyed a nice fish therapy. We also had a swim in the pool of the waterfall.
Janith organized a nice rainforest tour for us and showed us local plants and animals. His wife is an excellent cook. Everything was so delicious.
We would definitely come back!

I've been in Sri Lanka for 4 months and this is the experience Im gonna recommend to everyone!! This place is amazing and so beautiful and peaceful. I only stayed for two nights but wish I stayed more. They have a jeep tour through the rainforest for 35/40 dollar that sounds really nice!!!
The hotel is two min from a waterfall that you can swim in and the surrounding nature is unbeliviable beautiful. And as another review already stated, the food. Best food I had this far in Sri Lanka.
From Galle it takes about 3 hours to get there. Car and bus take the same time even if google maps tells you something else.
absolutley nothing to dislike.

Amazing location as you feel part of the rainforest. We were really looked after and the food was lovely. They made us vegan meals which were appreciated. They arranged the rainforest trek for us which was amazing. It was longer than expected so take extra food or water if you are like us and need feeding often! Rooms were large and comfy

this property was set in a unique and beautiful place with a waterfall next to it . The dining area with open sides all round feels as though you are in the tree canopy and the bedrooms look out into trees and forest .It was totally beautiful and peaceful. The waterfall is the dominant sound and just a few metres away . our wonderful host led us down to the fall and showed us the pool we could jump into , heaven .
our host and his wife were incredible so kind and attentive providing delicious meals , including sandwiches for our trek in to Sinharaja forest as well as organizing our trek, guide and everything else we needed . I would really recommend this unique and beautiful stay on the edge of Sinharaja .

Waw! This family and accomondation is the best you can chose traveling to Sinharaja forests. The sound of birdsong are everywhere and the private waterfall just few steps from your room. Definitely a place for relaxing and enjoing the nature. The whole family took exelent care of us, they made us feel like home. Thank you so much Janith!❤️ Kristine, Janis&Henry

The property was next to a waterfall and was clean. You can go to sleep and wake up to the sound of the waterfall next door. Janith and Maneesha looked after us very well. Their personalised service is exceptional.
The access is difficult for elderly.

Lovely place on outskirts of rain forest, with its own waterfall a short walk away. Great host who took us to the waterfall where we encountered the sucker fish giving tingling sensation on feet. Also saw leeches . Good breakfast
Hot water from boiler, does not get too hot.
Last few meters of road quite rugged

if you think the photos are incredible, wait until you see the real thing! This was by far the most exciting and unique hotel we have ever been to. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, with a diverse range of wildlife.
The manager could not be more helpful, kind or caring. He was extremely accommodating for our trip and organised several nature treks for us. His wife is a friendly lady and a fantastic cook!
we liked everything about this hotel, thank you so much for a perfect stay!

We arrived to refreshing welcome drink and shown to a spacious, light and clean room. Janith was very welcoming and knowledgeable when it comes to nature. He even took us on a tour of the property, pointing out all the plants and wildlife just outside our room! The best thing about this place is the impressive waterfall just down a few steps from the room, which is refreshing and clean. prefect if you want to relax after a long journey or after a long day of jungle trekking.
Janith organised a guide to take us into the jungle via the kurulugala entrance, which is close to the property and accessible via a bumpy jeep to the top of the hill. Our guide Kumara was so incredible smart and knowledgable. He knew all of the plant names. We learned a lot and saw loads of animals and plants.
The breakfast and dinner is a little more expensive than you might pay in a restaurant or home stay at around $6/7 per meal. This a bit more like a hotel which may be normal in a hotel but having stayed in a lot of home stays, we we’re not used to.

We only had one night here, but we really liked the stay. The room was spacious, and it cools down nicely in the evening, so that we didn't even have to use the fan. The accomodation is very high up, so the views on the way there and when you're there are superb.
The owner is very friendly, he gave us the most delicious self-made lemonade when we arrived and showed us a nearby waterfall :)
In the morning he told us that he had just come back from an 8-hour night hike with a group of other tourists, so he appears to go to great lengths to make his visitors happy.
At the reception, there are Sri Lankan books written in/translated to English that you can borrow.
We booked a rainforest tour with Explore Sinharaja, but they start from Mederipitiya, which is an hour away. So if you book a tour through them, I would recommend staying somewhere closer. However, alternatively you can also book a tour that starts right at Sinharaja Kurulu Ella if you ask the owner.

Beautiful small place. First waterfall is few meters away from the property. Those who can’t hike, you can still blend with nature and have relax time.
Food is extremely yummy and nicely presented. Everything was clean. That was my number one concern.

Unique location staying in an all-glass conservatory suspended over the rainforest. The owners make guests very welcome. The home-cooked food is very good, the curries exceptional.
Not a criticism but an observation - intending guests should be aware that reaching the main building and rooms (or the waterfall) involves a lot of steep high steps carved from the hillside. Those with limited mobility will struggle. Note that walks through the forest itself are, however, all on easy asphalted tracks.

This place is absolutely beautiful, our room was overlooking the waterfalls and we would sleep on the sound of the forest. The hosts were very friendly and the food was delicious. I would go back again and again if I had the chance.
getting there from the airport was a tough ride up the mountains but the ride they provided was good.

The location of the property is hard to beat. It has undisturbed view to the forest and all the wild life (birds, monkeys and variety of exotic plants) in it. There is also a waterfall within the property and you really feel together with a nature there. Absolutely stunning base to start your exploration.
Also, it should be highlighted that the properly is ran by very accommodating and caring family who went out of their way to explain and show around the area, arranged the guide for sinharaja forest (extremely knowledgeable, communicative and warm), permitted a late checkout (so I could take a very needed shower after a hike) and cooker delicious and organic breakfast and dinner.
I would definitely stay there again without any doubt.
I loved it all.
