Super kind and friendly staff. Definitely the best of the camp.
The tents are super well equipped. You feel you are in a camp without compromising on comfort.
The setting is very nice, and the vibe at night is awesome with the bonfire and the fire lamps.
Great option to stay one night if you want to do safari in the afternoon and in the morning.
The tents can get quite hot during the day (but there are fans)

The safari was nice.
High price is not in line with service and quality of food and accomodation.
- food is of poor quality (certainly if you are vegetarian)
- night walk that was advertised (and paid for) wasn’t organised without proper communication
- wifi only very limited available in time (and no wifi or 4G in your tent)
It was the most expensive part of our trip but also the most disappointing experience. We didn’t agree to pay the full price, but our credit card was already charged for the full amount. They told us they would come back on the bill given that not all services have been given according to our booking, but now 48 hours later still no news on that.

lovely rural setting with comfortable luxury tent. the camp naturalist called Solomons took us on a morning nature walk sharing his knowledge of birds and local wisdom
was advertised as having a night nature walk but were told nothing to see so walk did not eventuate. the evening meal way too expensive even by Australian standards - if advised of cost we would not have agreed to having dinner there.

The staffs are good and the tents are clean.
We have a lot of dislikes in this property first one to say is we travelled almost 4 hours from Colombo to enjoy the camping site but it was not at all matching to our expectation nor the photos which they have shown. The washroom was too small and poor quality fitting / very flimsy. The major part of disappointment was the area is full of giant lizards resembling Komodo dragon very huge and it running around everywhere when we ask the staffs they says it’s our land monitor lizards which we use to drive snakes away from the property. This made us to feel the area was unsafe for us to stay especially children because they will not be aware of the surroundings. Also the tent is bit flimsy and it’s just a zipped tent so we were very skeptical to stay. Then we had lunch which was ok but over priced the ice cream was really bad. The property had arranged the safari for us which was amazing we spotted bunch of elephants (but the safari is bit pricy when we book through the property than the third party vendor) which is also expected so we didn’t mind. When we came back after the safari it was dark absolutely the property didn’t have much lights but in the photos they show it is well lit up and lamps placed everywhere, once we saw this all the ladies and children in the family were too scared to stay in the night. We immediately called the property manager and told we have paid for the lunch / safari and we don’t feel safe about staying in here so we want to cancel the booking / wanted refund. As the booking was made in booking.com immediately we informed booking.com customer care they told they will raise the concern to the property owner and get back. But these property people have told the wrong information to booking.com team that the lunch and safari has been organised and it’s hard to cancel the booking now, where as we paid for the lunch and safari. We only wanted to cancel the night stay. As the property owners told this booking.

Solomon was a fantastic guide and made the stay extra special for us both.

Big Game camp was an amazing experience. The tent was super comfortable with comfy beds and a shower. Dinner under stars was dreamy and very tasty. the staff were super helpful and attentive to any need, at any hour. The camp naturalist Solomon was a highlight, his knowledge and enthusiasm for animals and birds was infectious. he took us for a walk to see the sunrise from some high rocks near the camp and had an incredible eye for spotting and teaching us about the birds. we also did a safari with the camp that was hugely memorable and enjoyable, we saw lots of elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, buffalo and countless birds. Solomon was always so helpful with info about the latest spot. being a few feet from an elephant and a monkey with baby round it’s waist hopping into the jeep were unforgettable highlights.

Nice place for people who like camping but they didn't try it before like us.
Well equipped tents. With clean beds, water, fan.
The bathroom was ok and not more.
Friendly staff, welcoming.
We get welcoming srilankan coffee and biscuit. Tea also available.
We were the only guests that time and the hospitality was perfect.
There was quick presentation about how the things were going and what things we can do.
Delicious breakfast and dinner with like 5 stars service.
They asked us before we came if we prefer any special food and beverages.
We had a free nature walk around the campus.
The bathroom was a little bit not clean with spider nets in the corners.
The shower grounds was little slippery and there was no bathroom shoes.
There was samll opening in the top of the bathroom which allows flys and insects to be unwelcomed guests. Could be improved by putting a net.
The way to the tent could be improved with wooden steps.
The dinner was the almost the same for two nights.
The location of the campus was actually 30 mins away from the national park.

The food served at the property is very good and the staff is very helpful (if you can manage to contact them)
- due to multiple cancellations and our bad experience, the head office decided to upgrade us but failed to inform the staff. So we checked in to the tents at 4 and by the time we got the upgraded tents it was 7.. which means the new tent was invaded by bugs by sun down.
- peacocks visit the property in the morning.
There were plenty of cons:
- we were made to wait on road for almost an hour before someone from the property could pick us up. (Property was hardly 5 minutes away). They told our driver that villagers had a problem.. but I called the property across 2 days prior to stay and on the day of the stay and they said there is no problem. So they were lying?? Also because they changed our tents, it literally took them a little over 3 hours to just settle us in.
- the tents are cramped and infested with frogs in the toilet, lots of spiders and lizzards.
- the pictures show lovely green gold course like open grounds but it’s an actual jungle and you are in big trouble if you don’t know what you have signed up for.
- lots and lots of ants and bugs so wear closed shoes and carry a big spray if you do decide to stay here.
- ofcourse no AC. So it’s very very hot especially in summer.
- no running hot water in the tap. So difficult to take a shower.. especially with frogs in the tiny bathroom.
- the plug points are not proper.
- poor lighting conditions
- the entrance to our tent has a huge ant hill.. and it’s dark..so lots of good luck required. My entire family was uncomfortable during the entire stay.
- Our safari was cancelled due to corona virus scare. So i’d advise staying here only if you really really want to and if there is safari. Else it’s pointless

Food was great! Both dinner and breakfast! Very friendly staff!
Amazing safari, we saw lots of different animals, not only elephants.
It was quite a few unwelcomed bugs in the tent.
Some of the guides were not so well in English.
