We spent 5 nights here. The best part about our stay was having a waterfront property with great access to the lake and a boat slip. The back deck is in excellent condition. The neighbors are extremely friendly and helpful - they helped us secure a restaurant reservation at a place they highly recommended in Opelika. The living room/dining room is comfortable, and the kitchen is well-equipped. The oven needs cleaning, and the whisk and can opener are broken however.
The property itself needs some work. The main bedroom has a queen size bed with a very old pillowtop mattress that sags. It is very uncomfortable. The front entrance needs to have the debris and moss scrubbed off, and I suggest ant treatment on the outside of the property near the kitchen. Although we were very good about keeping the countertops clean and free of food, we had a daily visit from the ants. It's the south, so I get that they are difficult to control from time to time. The small trash bin outside might be some of the cause of that...it needs emptying more often to keep the trash bags in the bin rather than piled outside of it, especially if you spend more than a weekend at this property.
The Stillwaters community is very nice. We did rent a boat and very much enjoyed The Landing restaurant nearby. We highly recommend going there.
Overall, I wish we could say that we would return, but it did not meet our expectations based on previous reviews.

We had a short visit but this place hit the mark for 2 nights.

Wonderful Neighborhood. Great Property. Clean. Short girls trip. Perfect for a small group. Back deck was probably our favorite place besides the lake itself. Lots of dust from carpenter bees above, on the deck we swept but it continued, but did not hinder our relaxation. Woke up to the refrigerator being out and our food spoiled, (no fault of anyone's) however the property manager was easy to contact, and they sent someone out before the end of the day. Super nice repairman extremely apologetic. Bless our hearts we had to eat at NIFFERS (Highly recommend as well) Beds slept great and bathrooms were stocked with ample wash cloths and towels.
Needless to say, they, (owners and manager) also made the issue with the refrigerator (losing our food) right. I would definitely recommend any property Nick manages. and I would definitely recommend this property for a family or small group. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED OUR TIME HERE and we are already planning the trip back in the fall.

My family and I had a wonderful time at this location. Loved the balcony overlooking the lake and having our own boat dock was convenient.

We loved our stay at Poplar Point. It’s located in a gated community with a golf course and restaurant, Copper’s that we went to one night. The villa/townhouse has a wonderful view of the lake that we took full advantage of for morning coffee and later cocktails So peaceful! I didn’t want to leave! We stayed here the weekend we moved our daughter out of her dorm at AU. It’s about a 40 minute drive to Auburn. The beds are comfy and the kitchen has what you need for a weekend stay. The neighbors are friendly too. Wish we could have stayed longer to use the lake. Staying here makes me want a house/condo on a lake!

Nick was a great host very responsive friendly and professional

Frank and Nick are fantastic to work with, very responsive and even had a boat available for us while we were there checking out the lake. We had a wonderful time and would stay with them again.
With that said, condo is showing its age. It could use some new paint and a thorough cleaning. We like to cook and had to wash some dishes before using.
However, this particular condo would not keep us from coming back - Enjoyable stay.

Three friends just getting together for an Auburn game - this place was perfect to get away and relax at a fair price within a short drive of Auburn. The outdoor deck area was very relaxing as you were under a canopy of trees and right on the water.

Perfect weekend for an Auburn football game and celebrate his 60th birthday. Thank you so much for your wonderful home. We had a fabulous time.

We had the best time at Nicks property! The property has a large covered deck that we spent a large amount of time on! The inside was well stocked and clean. The kitchen, although a little on the small side had everything you could need. Nick was very helpful with every question we had and also helped us with several recommendations for local restaurants (Poplar Dawgs was our favorite fyi!). We had a small problem with the living room TV which turned out to be user error (we had the wrong input selected) but Nick came over within 10 minutes just to make sure everything was good. We have already booked again for another stay in November!

It was at the end of the summer. There was some issues, such as two broken chairs on the patio, but I would stay there in the future

The setting is gorgeous and the porch on the water is unparalleled! I don't usually give bad reviews and generally try to keep an open mind. However the unit, especially the bathrooms are outdated and in need of some TLC. In addition the unit smelled musty. These are all things that can be corrected easily and without spending too much (shower curtains were grimy and gross). The lock on the front door does not work properly, which made getting in and out of the unit a hassle. In addition the property manager was completely unresponsive. I emailed before our arrival, I texted and I send messages via the app and got no response. This is very unprofessional. I have been renting and staying in VRBO rentals for a long time and I had never had this issue. The beautiful location and the amazing porch definitely saved the day!!

The outside was lovely and restful. The inside was pretty outdated, especially the showers. In addition, the front door keypad did not work.

Love this property. We have stayed previously and it provides a wonderful retreat for the family when we are visiting Auburn.

My friends and I enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and it was nice to have access to the water. One review we read said the paddle board and kayak weren’t there, but we found them in the drainage area under the porch and although they aren’t brand new condition, we were able to use them so that was nice. Overall, we were pleased and I would recommend it for a nice relaxing weekend at the lake.

The lake was just beautiful, and the neighbors were very friendly. The only complaint I have is that the TV in either bedroom work.but we would like to thank the Nelson's brother for a wonderful weekend. so we will see you all again very soon

Overall, this was an excellent choice for us. It is a great location, the house is cute, and it fit our needs nicely. We loved the lake and the fact that it is in a gated community.
Just a few things that could have been better: the TV's in the bedrooms did not work properly. One didn't work at all, and the one in the master we could not change the channels. There were a couple broken chairs on the deck, and it listed 2 kayaks with the property that were not there. There were not many bath towels and very little hand soap. Also only one kitchen towel. Being a little less stingy on these things would make the experience better. However, all in all, our experience was great and if we come back to the area, would rent again.

Our stay at Lake Martin was so much FUN! The new back deck was our favorite spot to hang with family. We all enjoyed swimming by the dock and the trees provided the perfect amount of shade. The beds were comfy and street was quiet and peaceful. The boat rental made for the perfect week!! We hope to be back next summer!

Enjoyed our weekend getaway. It’s not far from home. Everything was lovely. The weather was gloomy and we wished the fireplace was operable. That was one of the reasons for picking that spot. It’s a two tier; not a three tier deck as shown in picture unless you include balcony from room).

Very much enjoyed meet Me. Frank and talking with his son Nick. They both were very helpful with any needs we needed.

We needed a place to stay over the weekend of an Auburn football game. It's about 30 minutes from Auburn but a very easy drive so wasn't inconvenient. Two bedrooms with full bath upstairs. The kitchen is a bit small but has a full refrigerator and we only did takeout so just fine for morning coffee. The back porch that overlooks the lake is really terrific. Such a beautiful, scenic view in a great neighborhood. We had a little trouble getting in because I didn't clearly read the instructions to go to the main gate. Visitors can't get in the back gate. The lock on the front door also isn't 100% flush so you have to pull on the door to make it work. Also not sure why (no bad weather) but the electricity went off for several hours which was kind of a pain but obviously not the fault of the owner because it was out in the area. Overall, it was a great place and we would absolutely stay there again. We just loved the area and the owner was very responsive.
