The perfect, classic, unfussy cape house with gorgeous views. A great size for a small family. We watched the sunrise over the water each morning and fell asleep listening to the sound of the ocean. Both White Crest and Lecount Hollow are walkable but there are no shoulders or sidewalks. With a little kid in tow we opted to get a town beach pass - totally worth it for access to parking at the kettle ponds nearby which are perfect for kid swimming. We would book again!

Home has a great location with amazing views and an ideal Cape Cod feel! We were even able to catch a surf competition at the beach in front of the house! My only complaints were that the bathroom ceiling and one of the rocking chairs were covered with black mold spots. Also, the master queen mattress was very firm. Overall a great value.

This is a great throwback cape house--stuck in time, braided rugs, need to bring your linens, vintage dishware, twin beds in the attic (a/c's were helpful on hotter nights--thank you!), we loved it all of course. The proximity to the beach and Wellfleet National Seashore trails is excellent. The best part is the views of the water. The house faces east and you get a beautiful view of the sunrise. The town is about 10 minutes away by car, try the Beachcomber for a lively evening. I would say the only downside is that it was difficult for our 87-year-old father to access the Atlantic beach because of the steep dune decline.

This property belong to my wife's grandfather from 1964 to 1983. It has been a pleasure to be in that home again. A lot of memories everywhere and changes to the house and landscape. We are looking forward to visiting it again next summer. Thank you for fixing the outlets, we noticed! I'm sure you had a lot of requests for the air conditioners from other renters. We missed the nighttime cross breeze especially upstairs. Maybe there is a way to add a screen to the top sash so that it can be opened when you don't need AC? Here's is our wish list of maintenance work we hope you can do before our next visit:Fix the bathroom door so it will close properlyThe 2 fans in the living room do not workThe vacuum does not workThe 2 outside sensor lights do not work (yes the switch is on)The dishwasher needs repair.We had mixed reviews of the management company. Our first experience was positive and helpful with regard to getting the dishwasher going. The 2nd was disappointing in trying to get the vacuum going. We needed a bag for it but they said they couldn't help us, just like that. It seemed like we were bothering them. We would have vacuumed before we left.

We loved out vacation! The weather was good and the view as nice as ever.We noticed that all the electrical outlets were replaced, which was a great improvement. On Wednesday we received a message from Elise that the owners wanted to install two AC units: one in the downstairs bedroom and one in the upstairs bedroom. We arrived home from the beach at 3:30 or so and Elise had just finished installing the units. I’m sure it wasn’t easy, especially as the upstairs does get hot during the day. It took a few hours but the temps in the bedrooms became more comfortable.While the home gets warm during the day, by early afternoon the deck does not get the late afternoon sun and generally there is a wonderful ocean breeze that cools everything down.The vacuum cleaner does not work. A new broom and dustpan would be helpful.A special thanks to Elise!!We are looking forward to next year!!Helen & Pat

This was a true Cape Cape Cottage. Nothing fancy but comfortable. It lacked a DVD player listed and the tv is very small. Location of washer and dryer had a lot to be desired and lighting to get to it was very poor. The view was magnificent made better by the screened-in porch and deck. It is definitely on our rent again list.

I recently had the misfortune of staying at [Property Name], and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a vacation rental. The property had NO AC, and the temperature was a constant 90 degrees downstairs and even hotter upstairs. Despite our request for a window unit to cool the property, the property manager refused to bring one, making it unbearable to stay and forcing us to leave 3 days early. Additionally, there were absolutely no linens provided, and every single dish was greasy and dirty, requiring us to wash everything before use. The management company was extremely unresponsive and unhelpful, and after expressing our extreme concern about the conditions, they refused to compensate any part of our stay and left a very nasty review on my VRBO profile. To make matters worse, you have to sign an unnecessarily lengthy lease agreement before staying. Not only was the property itself horrible, but the management company was even worse. I strongly advise against booking this property unless you want to ruin your vacation.

The location of this cottage cannot be beat, and that's why we rented this ocean view house. However, to say it is a 3-bedroom is a bit of a stretch. Also there is only one bathroom; an outdoor shower would really make things easier! We enjoyed the deck and the three-season porch, taking in the views, reading, practicing yoga, eating meals. Short walk to private beach with staircase.

We enjoyed our week very much. The view is exceptional and the sunrises are awesome. The property is rustic with a lot of vintage furniture. The property could use a little more love from the owners. Basic maintenance would make the renters experience better. We had trouble with the refrigerator requiring a someone to come fix it. It might be time for a new one. The electrical outlets all need to be replaced, many will not hold a plug in them. It's also time for a new shower head.

We just returned from an amazing week at this very special house in Wellfleet. The location is unbeatable. We spent many hours on that deck taking in the spectacular view. This is a classic Cape style beach cottage with picture windows that allow you to appreciate the ocean from the living room couch. It has its quirks (loose sockets, tricky stairs, unsecured screens on the porch) and I would say it's a stretch to call it a 3 bedrooms as the top floor is more like one open space but the proximity to the beach and charm of the home conquers all. Based on a prior review we brought a power strip, a string of lights and our own beach chairs which we used on the deck and were glad we did so. Overall a great spot.

Overall, excellent! While the street was a bit busier than we expected, there's a feeling of peaceful isolation here. It's mesmerizing to watch the ocean each day (we spotted seals in the surf all day long, every day), and the scrub forest around us teemed with towhees, cardinals, and catbirds during the day and whippoorwills at night. The town beach nearby is more breathtaking and raw than many others on the Outer Cape, but the main highway is less than ten minutes away so you can use this place as a good base for many excursions. The understated vintage charm of the home is relaxing, perfect for feeling like you're truly getting away from it all.

The location and view are unbeatable. Panoramic ocean views and a wonderful ocean beach. The house gets extremely warm in the hot weather and though there are good fans, it's hard to get any cross ventilation going. We had trouble with the internet service, but the owner and realtor were very responsive and solved the problem quickly. The electrical outlets don't hold plugs very securely. The kitchen equipment is a motley assortment. But these, finally, are quibbles. If you love the ocean, this is your spot.

Thanks for the survey. We were going to email you about some concerns we have with this home.
We've rented this home for about 10 years, and always had a nice time.
It's apparent though that little has been done to the home to update or improve several areas.
Kitchen:
Toaster: only one side pops up when the toast is done-you have to manually pick out the toast. I'd recommend a four-slice toaster as the home sleeps 5 people.
Utensils: there are not enough forks, spoons, knives etc. In some cases, the utensil handles separate from the body. They are relatively cheap as well. I'd suggest replacing them with a more complete set of decent utensils.
Knives: the ones in the wooden block used for slicing etc. are not sharp. It’s a bit frustrating trying to cut a tomato.
Miscellaneous tools: the can opener is basically useless. My wife used it to open tuna cans it was very difficult to use as its rusted. I think the owner should look at all the various tools in the drawer and discard those that are in bad shape and replace them with better quality.
Upstairs bedrooms: the light in the first bedroom from the stairs doesn't work. The light in the second bedroom would flicker on and off. Additionally, there is not enough lights up there and our daughters had to use their cell phones for light.
Lights: most are three-way light switches-only the second switch works.
Deck: the same wooden chairs have been on the deck and in the screened in porch. They are not very comfortable. I'd suggest putting a small round table on the deck with more comfortable chairs so folks could eat outside and enjoy the beautiful view. Folding beach chairs would work.

As wonderful as the photos
Quintessential Cape Cod house on the bluff. It's a tricky path down but it's worth it once you're sitting on this gorgeous private beach, seas and all. The house is dated with charming beach house appeal - no modern touches here! Dining room plus screened porch offer perfect dining options. Location is out of the fray, but quick drive to the glacial ponds or Wellfleet center. Easy drive to P-town and you can pick up the rail trail 1mile from the driveway.
Tips for your stay: Get a town parking sticker online in advance- good at all ponds and beaches. Bring bug spray! Mosquitos are fierce at sundown. The walk down to private beach is tough. First half is down a utility line. Second half is down steep stairs. You can drive to top of stairs. This is just how beach access is in Wellfleet. 2 upstairs bedrooms are connecting. Have to go thru one to get to other. Spiral stairs would be tough for toddlers. Bring beach chairs and some chairs for the deck (there are 2 plus a built in bench). No yard for games and climb to beach was too steep so leave Cornhole and other clunky stuff at home. Bring a power strip. Only 2 outlets in whole house serve 3-prong.
We truly loved this spot, even as someone who lives 8 minutes from MA/NH seacoast area.
