About this apartment rental
This apartment offers you the luxury of just relaxing around the pool or on the private ocean fed beach. This quietly located villa where you can enjoy a private drink or meal on the balcony in the sun. On the resort there are 2 bars and restaurants, 1 pool side bar with heated pool, this is a great place to relax whilst keeping an eye on the kids. If you prefer a night out there are many other bars, restaurants and live music can be found within a 5 - 10 minute walk away, which provides plenty of fun for couples and families. For those who are more active ( on site ) there is a fully fitted gym, tennis court or you can try windsurfing which is a 5 minute walk along to the main beach. There is also a golf course approx. 10 minute drive away. You may wish to spoil yourself with the spa treatments. 24hr security and an on site shop. There are markets and great local shopping, however Arrecife city is only a 20 minute bus ride with plenty of shops and stunning waterfront beach. It is the ideal holiday if you want an easy break away with everything nearby and no need to hire a car. You can have a quiet break or take advantage of the many facilities and excursions available.

Location is about a 10/15 minute walk from the centre of Costa Teguise. The property has everything you require for a short holiday break. The resort has lots to offer for families and couples alike. Overall, everything good with no issues.

We really enjoyed our stay, however there were a few issues that probably need addressing, no hairdryer on arrival but that was sorted promptly having spoken to Vicky (thank you), wardrobe door missing, I say missing but it was actually behind the settee. The dust was an issue but this is to be expected on such a windy island. The complex itself is lovely and clean but the only issue we had was there were no parasols around the pool areas, my husband likes to have some shade.

Resort beautiful, clean, quiet, until we got to the apartment, that's when the problems began, now I'm a 69 year old pensioner took me a long time to save for this holiday, i will do a list of problems, front door we had to lift to get it to open and lock, setee covered in stains, kitchen area filthy, 2 dirty frying pans uncookable in, took ages to get hot water to wash up in, noisy plumbing, smell of stale water when showering, bed in main bedroom badly stained, no clean sheets or towels for 2 weeks, living room constant whistling through front door's, sun bed broken very uncomfortable, i have been lanzarote 4 many years now and have never stayed in a place like this, the apartment needs a good upgrade.

Property was in a good location, although it was clean it is in need of a lick of paint. My main criticism was the lack of free wi fi. Asked at reception was told it wasn't available to private owners. Only to find out you can pay 5 or 6 euros per for access.

I tend to read these reviews to decide on where to stay, so I’ll be as honest as possible.
First thing I would say is that the hosts are lovely, fantastic communication, easy to get hold of and quick to fix issues.
We arrived on the Wednesday evening, the apartment is by the Olympic pool for really serious swimmers along with lessons etc, the apartment was clean but dated, having been there for 2 weeks, I think this is a general comment across the complex though. As I’ve seen on other reviews, there was missing wardrobe doors, another cupboard with a bed that couldn’t be used, the patio doors stuck as did the wardrobe doors. There was a good selection of cutlery, cups, pans etc but no basics such as cleaning products, so this is something you will have to buy (along with toilet roll)
Unfortunately the cleaners had decided to switch our fridge off to defrost, this was an error on their part as it then left us without a fridge for the next 36 hours, not great when you are self catering, but it did power itself back up.
Half way through the holiday, we noticed we had no running water, there was some work going on and the complex staff must have switched this off, we had no running water from getting up in the morning to going to the reception to wait for their staff around 10pm.
These two issues obviously weren’t great in an holiday apartment.
But, although we had these issues, the holiday itself was lovely, the weather great, the complex is clean.
You are looking at a 5 minute walk to “las chuchuras” complex which has shops, restaurants and bars available (bingo on a Tuesday and Saturday and happy hours at the cocktail bars) you can walk further on along the beach and you get to the main square which is crammed with more restaurants and shops, I’d say it would be a 15 minute walk from the apartment to there.
We worried about being out of the way but this isn’t the case.
I would say not to use the on site shop, although it’s convenient it’s ridiculously high priced, you can walk to the next shopping complex in the 5 minutes and save yourself a lot of money and they are open until 10pm mostly.
Although we enjoyed our holiday, I would not stay in this particular apartment again, this is down to the location on the site, if you walk around the complex there are mostly first floor apartments surrounding a pool, much better for the children to have access to a pool, as the Olympic is not great for them.

Great accommodation at Sands Beach. Pictures were very accurate. Had plenty of cooking utensils and all that was required for a self catering stay. Room was a bit hot at night - the portable fans in the accommodation helped. Was great to have a few uk channels to watch on the tv. Lovely view onto the training pool. Quiet at night. No entertainment and the facilities of the hotel were lacking but that did not concern us as we didn’t need or want them. Communication from the hosts was excellent and the complimentary gifts on arrival were a lovely touch. Thank you

Do not plan to put anyone you love on the sofa bed. The rest of the place is fine and as advertised, and the owners/managers are lovely, but the sofa bed should be removed from their listing - it is so uncomfortable that we had to leave after one night.

Relaxing and comfy
Good and not so good points... complex fantastic, location of apt really good but not if you have small children as the apt looks out to the gala pool for real swimmers family pools would be out of sight of apt. Apt been cleaned but dusty and terrace extreemly dirty. I had to scrub it, however, after saying that the wind does bring gritty sand in from the sea. Never rented a private apt before so didnt realise that i would have to go buy all cleaning materieals and clean everyday myself and did have a little prob getting clean sheets and towels.
Apt is very spacious but quite tatty.. needs a good overhaul. Missing wardrobs doors just generaly tierd really. Comfy bed tho.
The location to pubs an restaurants a good walk away so not really good for people with mobility problems but lots of choice for all ages.
We stayed for 4 weeks and had a great hol but wouldnt go bk to to that complex again because of the distance to nightlife.. cost a fortune in taxis.
Oh, nice to receive water milk and wine on arrival.

Normally one lane to swim in but only if you have a swim cap!

Fab resort
Had a fab holiday here for Christmas. It didnt feel like everybody was on top of each other for a 1 bed apartment. Managed to make a Christmas dinner with the utensils in the kitchen. Commication was so easy and quick replies to any questions I had. Enjoyed our holiday so much here we have booked to go back

The apartment is ideal for a stay in Costa Teguise. Located next to the 25m training pool it makes an ideal base for anyone wishing to train while on the island.

When we finally got to explore the apartment, it was clean and tidy. However, it was a little dated. The front door handle was falling off, but could still be used. There were two missing wardrobe doors (which we found behind the bed board and sofa) and, generally the apartment needed a little tender love and care and a little update.A key thing to note, there was no air conditioning. There were two ceiling fans in the living room, but neither worked. In fact, only one light in the living room worked. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was not brilliant either, but there were two table top fans. These were filthy and need a clean before they could be used. They were adequate for the cooler October nights.The kitchen had adequate appliances but was really lacking with regard to cooking utensils (not even a wooden spoon). It would be difficult to cook for a family of four (we managed for a couple only). It would have been nice to have some dishwasher tablets, bin bags and soap. It seems a shame that everyone that stays would need to purchase these essentials. Toilet paper was provided though! There was a mop and broom available, but no dustpan to pick up the rubbish/dirt/crumbs.The bathroom bin had no bin bag. The bath tap did not overhang the bath correctly, so leaked all over the floor and the bath had to be filled with the shower. On the plus side, the bath was nice and deep and the shower powerful. There were a good number of towels provided, but we had to wash all of them as they smelt very damp. The onsight washing machine was quick and simple to use.Finally, the bedroom was large and there was plenty of hanging space with lots of hangers. The bed was a very big double and spacious. The mattress was very firm and quite hard, so it depends how you like your bed!Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely stay in a gorgeous resort!
To begin with, dealing with the property owners was a breeze! I had an answer within an hour of each message through the Home Away messaging feature. Gave very detailed answers for any of my queries and had absolutely no hassle arranging our stay.
The resort itself is super. We went in late June and it was still so private, quiet and relaxing.
There are steps up to this apartment/villa so do bare than in mind with luggage - we found it fine.
There is a lock system that the owner will explain. Opening it takes getting used to but was a great system to use!
The rooms were lovely, bedroom had a comfortable bed. I stayed on the pull out bed which was also very comfy. Nice sized area in front of the bathroom with a huge mirror which was handy for getting ready! Didn't use the kitchen facilities much other than the fridge and kettle but all your basic kitchen needs are there should you wish to cook meals every day.
We arrived quite early but the cleaning lady that was there had no issue with us dropping off our bags and heading out. The only little thing we had was we were advised to check in at reception and they would show us the way, however, they were quite blunt in the fact that this particular villa is privately owned within the resort so they made it clear that they had nothing to do with check in and merely handed us a map and the name of the plaza we were in and proceeded with the next person in line. This was no fault of the owner. I would just say a little bit of ignorance on the receptionist's part. So my advise to anyone staying here would be to ask reception for a map as this villa is in 'Plaza Verde' and just ask people along the way where it is if you're still stuck. All the ground staff were absolute gems so they will be delighted to help!
There was a lane swimming pool outside our balcony (bring a cap!) which my aunt absolutely loved. I walked through a couple of Plazas and found loads of lovely and quiet pools to use.
Essential shops and eateries were close by but for the popular restaurants and pubs you have to walk around 10 minutes down the road. I recommend walking through 'Shopping Centre Las Cucharas' and you'll find the main strip along the beach leading to more food and pubs! Beijing is an all you can eat Chinese place with gorgeous food cooked to order but all you can eat for under €10 which we ate in twice!
Overall, I would highly recommend this place as it had everything we needed and made our holiday relaxing.

David and Vicky were very helpful from the moment we booked the holiday. They responded very quickly to any query we had.
I had taken several trips to the Sands Beach and of the other privately owned rooms I had seen myself, theirs in the Plaza Verde was the best. It was large, comfortable and very well equipped. Perfect for full on self catering or just for using as a base. There was plenty of space and storage room. The sun bed on the balcony was perfect for soaking up the evening sun and there was a nice table and chairs on the balcony too.
Being a triathlon coach we really appreciated being so close to the 8 lane swimming pool. I think I counted 28 paces from the room to the pool. My wife also used the other plazas to chill out when the pool was busy. There was plenty of room to be busy or do nothing in the Sands Beach resort.
There are lots of very good restaurants nearby and we did use the Hacienda buffet one evening which we thought was excellent value.

Great apartment leased by helpful owners
From making the booking everything was so easy. I’ve stayed at sands beach before and it’s still the perfect resort for couples and families as well as sport enthusiasts. The apartment was clean, spacious and had all the amenities we required. Restaurant on site is fab. Buddy’s club brilliant and feeding the fish on the private beach was so much fun. My children loved it! Massive thank you to the owner Dave / Vicky- for leading us the apartment. They where so helpful especially with providing directions, things to do etc. So much easier than booking via the hotel direct. Apartment over looks the training swimming pool.
Top tip - head to La Bohiem restaurant. Just a 5 minute downhill stroll from the hotel. Best steak I’ve had outside of Singapore raffles.

Nice apartment on a nice resort
The only things wrong with the apartment were that the beds were too hard (for our taste) and there could be more kitchen utensils (such as a can opener and a large frying pan). Also a working usable safe box would have been useful.
Some good thing were that there was ample storage space. The sofa was comfy and the shower was powerful.
The apartment is on lovely looking resort. However the apartment is located next to an eight lane heated swimming pool which we could not use as it was reserved for 'serious swimmers' and you had to book a time slot to use on of the lanes!! The only other heated pool is in the lagoon area but you have to pay to use the sunbeds next to the pool.
Our stay here was a good one and the comments above were minor in the great scheme of things but would have been good to know before we went.

Great value for money
We had a fabulous stay at this property. Although the apartment is only one bedroom it easily accomodated my family of two adults and three children (8, 10 and11). Everything in the apartment was well thought out and it was super easy to put away the two double beds in the living area. The Sands Resort itself is very good especially if you are keen on swimming like my family. We hired a car so we could visit sites but it is not necessary as there are a number of supermarkets within 5 min walk. We would definetly book this apartment again as it was super value for money. Thanks to Vicky who made booking hassle free!

Really impressed with everything
Just spent 5 brilliant weeks at Villa Verde 29. The location is perfect for both couples and families. There were just the two of us so had plenty of room. The apartment is really comfortable with everything for a perfect stay would definitely recommend and would go back without hesitation
