The home benefits from a lake view living room with private balcony access and a contemporary fully-equipped Kitchen Diner for 4. Two spacious Bedrooms (each with Twin Joinable beds) offers welcome flexibility when you need it most, whilst for larger groups staying the other Al Prato Apartments in the same residence can also be rented (subject to availability).
The gorgeous 2-storey Duplex is also equipped with a contemporary shower room, private laundry facilities and a romantic private lake view balcony with bistro dining set. Please note that the duplex features an open tread staircase and is unsuitable for the elderly (due to 30 external steps and 36 internal steps).

Hidden gem in Varenna. This 2bdrm apartment is amazing and has incredible views. There is one spot where you can look out of opposite windows and see the lake from both ❤️. Wonderfully comfortable setup with the balcony, kitchen and living room downstairs, and 2 bedrooms upstairs. There is a lockbox and security gate, for entry, and a 3 floor climb. Located just 100 ft from the town center, everything in town is within walking distance. Wonderful location, wonderful apartment and beautiful views. Whether there for family or vacation, this is an ideal alternative to a hotel, if you would like the added privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return for another.

Great property with all the amenities & perfect location! Very clean & comfortable! Great welcoming package! To be forewarned, there is no full length mirrors, only one mirror above the bathroom sink. Other than that, it’s a perfect place to stay when you visit Varenna!

Very nice apartment if you are comfortable with 3rd floor stairs and another story in the unit. Location is incredible. Nice welcome basket with wine, comfortable bedding. Could have paid more attention to detail like providing the wifi password, dish towels and hot pads etc.

This property is in a fantastic location in Varenna. My only suggestions would be in improve communications. Providing information about Wifi and password as well as how to operate the electronic gate and front door would have been very useful. Also 24 h phone contact number does not get answered.

Hot hot too hot
Property was bare bones. Nice stairwell ,floors, quality built building. There was No soap for dishwasher no paper towels and bare minimum kitchen supplies. There was a heat wave in lake Como and the two upstairs bedrooms were uninhabitable due to the temperature. The host provided fans but they were insufficient. I do not recommend this place if the temperature in Como is over 27° during the day. Spring fall winter would stay here again.

Locatie is top; groot apartement op perfecte locatie
Fijn apartement met 2 slaapkamers met 2 eenpersoons bedden. Helaas zijn de slaapkamers op zolder en was het warm; er is geen airconditioning en dat mis je echt als het 36 gr C is.
Ook is het inchecken erg onpersoonlijk; de beschrijving foto’s zijn duidelijk, maar t komt erg onpersoonlijk over. Ook kan je niet met auto voor de deur komen en is er geen lift; dus beter niet een zware koffer meenemen. Het huis ligt wel perfect centraal met een leuk restaurant eronder (prato).
Het balkon viel een beetje tegen, want daar kan je eigenlijk niet opzitten met meer dan een.

Great location and property
We stayed for 5 nights and had a great time at this property. The space is really lovely. There is a cute little balcony with a view of the lake. The only negative is that there is no AC and there was a heat wave for two days…but it was managed with the fans ok. Would recommend again.

Varenna is beautiful
The property met our expectations. It was convenient to do all the things we wanted. Beds were comfortable, plenty of fans to keep us cool in hot weather, nice appliances and lovely view from tiny balcony.
Where our discontent with this property was as follows. When we arrived there was no key in the lockbox as stated by our email. We had travelled over six hours to get there and were very tired. I called the office and was told we could go to their office to get the key which was on the other side of the lake which meant we would have to take a ferry there, find the office and return to Varenna. This was not an option for us and requested it was there responsibility to have key in place. With phone calls back and forth, to sum it up we spent over two hours sitting in hallway with our luggage waiting to get into apartment. The person who finally show up was very nice and said it was his day off and he came from another town. He said cleaning people probably took the key. When I emailed them the next day saying how disappointed we were with their help they said they would give 10% off next visit. I am 76 and was on a trip with my grandchildren. I would not be returning to use the 10% and felt they could have been more caring.
Secondly, the directions from train arrival were nil. We had to keep asking people as we entered the town for directions. The picture directions once we found post office were good.
Varenna is a beautiful little place and offers many things to do. Food is good, Ferry rides to other towns lovely and flowers were beautiful as well as restaurant clerks and those in the stores.

Nicely redone, comfortable apartment in a great location. Perfect to explore the lake region. Check in was total crap. Spent an hour trying to find the place which was not even close, after traveling all day. Apparently we were supposed to have the 10 page instructions with pictures to find it, which was in the flat. After expressing my feelings to concierge, could not get them to answer

I love this property
First time visiting Lake Como. Beautiful property, a complementary welcome pack with wine, milk and snacks is waiting for you when you arrived. exactly as stated except the views were much more spectacular than the ones in the listing
photos. Varenna is a fun base to use as many ferries and train to go to Milan or Lugano. The appartment is around the corner of good cafés and restaurants and train station.

Comfy lake view apartment
Perfectly located two bedroom, two story apartment, with a small balcony view of the lake. Quiet. Comfy beds in the upstairs bedrooms. Easy self check-in, great communications with the host. Apartment was a two minute walk to the waterfront. Varenna is very small, and everything is within walking distance, including the water ferries to explore other towns on the lake. Bellagio is only a 15 minute boat ride away.
We think we chose the ideal location for our Lake Como trip. Thank you!

La Dolce Vita
Die Lade des Appartements ist einfach einmalig - unmittelbare Lage zum See, zum Bäcker, Lebensmittelladen zur Piazza und zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants. Nachdem es aufgrund eines Sturmes einen Wasserschaden gab, kam von der Agentur sehr schnell Hilfe und der Schaden wurde auch nachhaltig beseitigt. Ausstattungsmäßig könnte das Geschirr noch etwas aufgestockt werden (kleine Schüsselchen, Gläser). Für alle die mit dem Auto anreisen, wird das Parkplatzproblem zur täglichen Herausforderung, v.a. Finanziell!!!! Last Not least - Varenna ist ein wunderschöner Ort, indem man das Dolce Vita wirklich genießen kann!!!

The apartment is clean and well located with lovely views.Better directions from the train station would be my only suggestion. Using Google maps was unnecessarily frustrating but the management team was helpful and friendly.

We stayed at a lake Como holiday rental in Varenna for two weeks and had a fantastic time even though it was a cool May. I have to mention that the staff, especially our concierge Elisa, were outstanding in responding to us and answering our questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good rental experience. We stayed at a posting we found on VRBO and it was exactly as stated except the views were much more spectacular than the ones in the listing photos. Varenna is a fun base to use as many ferries can be caught here and of course it has the scenic walkway along the lake extending the length of the town and a multitude of good cafés and restaurants. +2 little grocery stores with all you need to get by with very helpful owners. The train is very handy and we used it multiple times. There is also a taxi service run by Rita and her sister and they could not have been better! If you stay for a long stint like we did it is easy to take the train to Lecco and Colico at the northern and southern extremes of Lake Como. Plus locally you have Menaggio and Bellaggio to visit and we also took the ferry down to Como.If you take the ferry to Menaggio you can then take the one hour bus over the hill to Lugano Switzerland which is a fantastic day trip visit.It was a long trip but we did a day trip to St Moritz Switzerland up through the Alps and talk about a spectacular train ride!!! You take the train north to Toronto and then change trains right next-door on the Bernie’s express up and over. The wonderful employee at the Varenna train station was more than helpful in setting this up. Long day but so worth it.

We had stayed in Varenna before and were very pleased with the location and apartment. Your pictures on VRBO do not really show what nice views you get from both sides of the apartment though…access to the keybox and apartment was easy…your team was always responsive to my emails…we enjoyed the dinner at Albergo Milano, as always…the owner always makes you feel like a welcome guest…the things which I think need some attention: soap/shampoo…it is hard to travel with liquids, so would be great if provided…the outdoor common deck had broken furniture and what-not…could use a sturdy table and chairs…great view from there..the metal interior stairway in the apartment makes loud noise as you use it…not sure it can be fixed, but it does wake people up when using…otherwise, the apartment was clean and spacious…we would recommend it to our friends and would rent it again. thanks

Well equipped and clean property in heart of Varenna, very close to main square and lake side restaurants. We had a lovely week with our two kids (8and 12) enjoying walks around the lake and local sights. Highly recommend it.

Perfect homebase for Lake Como holiday
We, 2 couples, loved the 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment is exactly as pictured and the village of Varenna is a nice retreat from the hustle & bustle of Bellagio. The location was perfect.

Thank you for your email. First of all, the property was beautiful, clean, cozy, spacious, and conveniently located. We really appreciated the quick responses to all of our inquiries.
As far as activities we enjoyed - we rented a boat from a company in Varenna. It was a lot of fun and would highly recommend it. We also enjoyed the hike up to the castle and over to the waterfalls.

Hi there! We had a GREAT time. Thanks! The home was lovely, the location couldn't be better, and the price was very reasonable. The directions were clear, although adding in directions from the train station would be great, too. And providing the wireless password would be helpful as well.
