About this cabin rental
This property, offered by Stewart Mountain Lodging, comes with access to other amenities and many additional properties nearby.
For starters, let's just say there's no better place to stay in the Sundance area than right on a mountain stream. And we mean that you can literally sit comfortably in the living room and enjoy the view of the stream right outside the large windows. The other benchmark of this perfect setting is the privacy. Located at the very end of the Big Pine Road, this mountain home offers the ultimate in a private retreat. No cars, no noise, (except of course the soundtrack of the mountain stream). The master bedroom is located on the main level and the 2nd bedroom and loft sleeping area is accessed by a built in ladder that may not be suitable for younger children or elderly guests.
This property is clean, cozy and newly renovated. It has a full kitchen equipped with stainless appliances and a dining table that comfortably seats six. The main living room includes beautiful new leather sofas, in front of a real wood burning fireplace.
Let Stewart Mountain Lodging host your mountain getaway! We live here in Sundance full time - so we're always available. You'll love our private park, "The Hollow", with an outdoor fireplace and Zip Line swing. With our full concierge services we can arrange for a day of fly fishing with our favorite guides, recommend a variety of local day trips and/or hikes, or arrange a massage in your home. You'll love the personal touch and gracious hospitality of your mountain hosts. We would love to share this magical place with you.
From all of us at Stewart Mountain Lodging we look forward to hosting your stay.

I don’t think there are actual words to describe how perfect of a place this is to stay if you are looking for a perfect getaway with comforting amenities, while still being able to connect with nature!

Amazing location, quiet and private. Absolutely perfect! My only complaint would be the shower and not because it’s super tiny but because there was next to no water pressure.

My family couldn’t have loved our stay here more! The location was perfect with close access to hiking and rafting. The kids loved the loft bedroom and lots of outdoor space to run around and explore. The rushing stream provided the most beautiful backdrop scenery while we relaxed in the hot tub or enjoyed a meal on the patio. Would definitely return!

We all enjoyed the cabin! Just what we needed even though a lot of the property features were inaccessible due to heavy snow. Property manger was very responsive and the cabin was comfy and cozy! Definitely want to come back in the spring/summer for the experience!

The listing makes it seem as though this cabin is all by itself down a dirt road. In reality it is down a dirt road filled with other small cabins and this cabin is at the end of the road. The hot tub is in between the cabin and the cabin beside it so you have zero privacy there. People are also walking past the large beautiful glass windows as they go to their cabins even further down the dirt road. It was a fantastic vacation I just wish the cabin had been as remote and private as was implied. Also the master bedroom is very small and has a queen size bed not a king size bed and for tall people this means issues with quality of sleep.

Sundance is a beautiful place & this cabin is perfectly situated to take advantage of the area. We loved our stay & were sorry to leave when our vacation came to an end. The only thing missing for us was a dishwasher, but when compared to the view & the other comforts offered (not to mention the absolutely wonderful management company), a dishwasher just isn't that important.
We hope to revisit this lovely space soon - it was one of the best places we've found in our travels.

We had an amazing stay at Windows On The Stream. The cabin was very clean upon arrival. Plenty of pots, pans, silverware to cook meals at the cabin. The hot tube was clean and up to temp the moment we arrived. We left a couple of windows open to enjoy the beautiful sound of the stream and nature as we relaxed inside. The only part that was unclear before we arrived is the main bedroom listed on the Vrbo webpage. There is a bedroom on the main floor that is not shown in the images on Vrbo. We just had to trust that the bedroom count on the website was correct. Having an image of the main bedroom would help clarify the space.

Such a wonderful and relaxing weekend! Beautiful surroundings, quiet end of the road the only noise we heard was the sounds of the creek running through the property! Hot tub next to the creek was also spectacular. From booking to check out the communication was awesome! Thank you for a great weekend! Plan to be back in the future!!

Creek front
We had a great time at this cabin. The mega sounds from the stream were awesome. This cabin is spacious enough for the 6 of us. We did some downhill mountain biking and the zipline at the resort (amazing)!!
The only thing and I might have missed in the explaination was the stairs to the upstairs. It is more like a ladder not stairs and we had an older gal that was scared of them and a younger guy that slipped down them.

Secluded and Quaint
My wife and I stayed here for an extended weekend with the intention of escaping the city for a few days and having a snowed-in weekend in a cabin. This cabin was PERFECT. It is so cozy and the creak and surrounding trees make it feel like you could just hide out in there all day. The wood-burning fireplace makes the experience and the owner is always a text away whether you need firewood or just questions about that local area. Close enough for dinner in Park CIty and onl;y an hour form the airport in salt lake.

Beautiful and Tranquil
We had a great stay at this beautiful cabin. The listing was exactly as described. The folks at Stewart Mountain Lodging are top notch. They were in constant communication making sure everything was going well. When we had an issue with the hot water not working, they had it fixed within 20 minutes of calling. The views of the creek, the fireplace, the hot tub--this one is a winner!

Fun and relaxation
We had a wonderfully relaxing and fun time here. It was a comfortable space with great amenities. The location in Sundance and along a stream was amazing. There was lots to do, including just sitting by the beautiful stream.

Peaceful Cabin with a Creek
This is a wonderfully peaceful place to decompress. There is an amazing creek that flows alongside the property. A short hiking trail with some pretty wildflowers runs along the creek. There are plenty of places to sit and relax outside. Loved the outdoor hot tub which is also creekside. If you're looking to enjoy quiet time outdoors and get close to nature, this is a terrific place! We also completely loved the "Comphy" bedding. It's extremely soft and cozy for a great night's sleep. The Hollow is another fantastic amenity perfect for families. It's a private outdoor space about a 6-7 minute walk from the cabin. There is a super cool zipline which goes a good distance across a creek. So fun for adults and kids! There Is also a swing, hammock and little hiking trails to explore. Great place for families!
One thing about the cabin, the ladder/stairs to the upstairs is steep. Not great for young kids. But there is a nice sized bedroom on the main floor.
At the Sundance Resort, located minutes from the cabin, there are chair lifts that can take you up the mountain to hiking, biking trails, a zip line or you can return back to the base on the lift.
We spent 5 nights at the cabin. Overall, a wonderful stay!

The cabin-in-the-woods-on-the-river you’ve been looking for!
My husband and I love Utah, and found this property by Stewart Mountain Lodging. This company has multiple homes in the Sundance Canyon, and this was the perfect size for the 2 of us (although it sleeps another 6 upstairs in the loft and 2nd bedroom). We had the same outstanding experience with the management company that other reviewers state: personal communication - that made us feel like we were their only guests, despite the fact that they have so many (and larger) homes. Special treats were left for us AND for our small dog - and we couldn’t get enough of the view / sound of the river just outside the cabin.
When you’re at LaCabana (the name of our cabin) you feel like you’re all alone, surrounded by woods and water. We used the grill on the deck one night to make dinner - and found everything we needed. The bed was comfy, the shower had great pressure and warmth, the couches are to-die-for-comfy, and the fireplace is fabulous. If you rent this please check out the book “Before Sundance”. It tells the Steward family story and how they developed the resort - Timp Haven - that later became Sundance. Amazing family, amazing home - can’t wait to see you again!

Woodsy & comfortable
When we walked into the cabin we were created by relaxing sounds and a plate with a welcome card, a yummy blueberry loaf and treats for dogs. The bathroom was bigger than we expected, the kitchen is pretty small but all we needed. The stairs going upstairs are more like a carpeted ladder that older kids will enjoy and they have a baby gate that should be used for toddlers. They supplied firewood & fire starter. The deck is right next to the creek and has a bbq and picnic table. Kitchen is pretty well stocked with knives, cutting boards, peeler, silverware, plates, cups, etc. Stove, microwave & fridge. Hot tub is clean and they provide all the towels. We were comfortable & forgot we had neighbors until we drove the street or looked out the kitchen window. Lots of wild turkeys!

A wonderful experience
The property and working with the Property Management company was a delight. Our kids (9 and 11) loved sleeping upstairs. The well stocked fire place and many heavy blankets were appreciated! Note, there is no dishwasher nor washer/dryer. Steward Mountain Properties is very upfront about La Cabana lacking these amenities, but other renters may overlook.

We really enjoyed our stay at La Cabana. A very warm, relaxing location next to river. We will definitely visit again.

Labor day in paradise
We had a wonderful stay in Sundance. The cabin was lovely and beautiful stream provided soothing sounds. The hosts were an absolute delight to work with. I had made an error which they resolved very kindly.
We would have no hesitation about renting this cabin, or any of the cabins managed by these lovely folks. Thanks so much

Great staycation
We needed a quick getaway as a family and this was a perfect property for it! We felt away from it all yet close enough to run to town (Orem) when we needed something. The Hollow Park was fabulous!

Great Stay
This place is great. 5* with one caveat. The stairs going upstairs are VERY steep. pretty much a ladder. the only bathroom is downstairs, so if you are traveling with elderly folks or young kids this may be of concern. it worked out but we did have to wake up with my 77 y/o dad to ensure that he made it down the stairs safely in the middle of the night to use the restroom.

Mountain Retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway at La Cabana. The location couldn’t be better (steps from the stream), the cabin was clean and comfortable, and playing at in the woods and in the Hollow with our children gave us memories we will treasure for years to come. It was a little bit of heaven on earth. The property managers really went out of their way to be accommodating. Thank you. We loved our stay, and we will be back.

Perfect, cozy cottage
staff is super responsive, helpful and organized and the cabin had everything we needed. Not fancy, but cozy and well appointed. Beautiful setting! Great location just a few min drive to Sundance, and 20-25 mins to Provo for shops and restaurants.

Will be back!
My family loves to escape up into the mountains and they can’t wait to go back. We fell in love with the private park, The Hollow. It was very charming, especially at might all lit up. The zip line was a hit and we went on it multiple times a day. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. I appreciated that firewood was provided so we didn’t have to bring it up in our car. We can’t wait to come back!

Cottage in the Woods
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cottage in the woods. The setting was beautiful. The cottage sits at the end of the road nestled into the woods next to the stream. Such a tranquil setting! The cottage is simple with lots of natural light. A perfect getaway for our family of four.

Wonderful location
The stream was wonderful. We used the park and loved it! I was disappointed in the cabin. There were areas that needed repair like the cabinet under the sink. The cabin was outdated and there were cobwebs in several places. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this area.

This cabin was perfectly located and we felt right at home! The river was incredible!

Pretty view.
Door was locked upon our arrival, not open and all lit up and awaiting our arrival, as was stated. Carpets and master bedroom comforter are in need of replacement. Could not walk to sundance resort for dinner in evening because there were no street lights. Views out the floor to ceiling windows were beautiful. Soothing rushing stream.

Immersed in nature but tricky staircase
Pros:
-Beautiful and tranquil cabin near Sundance resort
-On a river
-Fire pit
-Secluded & quiet
Cons:
-2nd bedroom and loft up extremely steep staircase--more of a ladder than stairs. Can be dangerous, my 11 yr old fell/slipped coming down and got all scratched up
-small beds (There were 8 of us and one of us had to sleep on a couch). Only sleeps 6 comfortably unless don't mind pairing up on full mattresses
We totally loved it and would definitely stay there again. One of the most beautiful and tranquil places we ever stayed. Just be aware of the cons, not all families would be comfortable going up/down that steep staircase

Amazing Getaway
We had a wonderful time for five nights and days at your homey and clean cabin. It was roomier than we thought it would be and very inviting. The living room windows are just amazing. You get up in the morning and think you must be outside already among the pines. The kitchen is well-equipped and the beds comfortable. The stream goes for a long way on the property, and its rushing sound was delightful. We had a blast watching the wild turkeys and squirrels. We live only 20 minutes from this cabin but wanted to feel like we were away without traveling -- and boy did we make the right choice. Clark and Jan are a phone call away and fully accommodating. We walked to Sundance and enjoyed their reasonably priced sandwiches, salads, and smoothies -- plus the New York Times, great art, and an alluring gift shop. The two full-service restaurants have award-winning chefs and we passed on the high prices this time around. We can't wait to "get away" again. -- Sue, family, and friends

Wonderful Getaway - so affordable
My husband and I recently stayed at your cabin and were so pleased! It was so cozy and had everything we needed for our short visit. The views out the window were surreal, we felt as if we were up in a treehouse! We loved sleeping with the windows open so that we could hear the stream outside, it was so soothing and peaceful. The first morning we were awakened by the squirrels chattering and the pinecones dropping on the roof - what a fun experience for us city folks. We look forward to returning soon with our children, they will love the stream right ourside the back door and the privacy all the trees provide. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful place!
