The neighborhood wasn’t the greatest but it was quiet and peaceful. It had lots of stores nearby. The house was very clean and had lots of room.

It's astonishing to me this property has such high ratings. There's nothing terribly wrong, but the apartment has small windows with little natural light, the ceiling lights are harsh and exceedingly bright, everything in the apartment is grey from the walls to the furniture. The kitchen is equipped with beaten up pots and pans. As others have stated, there's no soundproofing so you hear whenever the upstairs neighbors walk, talk, or move. Being in the house felt so depressing we tried to leave whenever we could. The neighborhood is not unsafe but not great either - not really where you would want to be on vacation.

House was nice. We stayed during the 4th of July weekend so with all the fireworks going off, it was really hard to fall asleep. The neighborhood wasn’t the prettiest but it is very close to downtown Tacoma.

I was visiting a friend in the hospital and the location of this home was within walking distance of the hospital (less than one mile). Also, lucked into a great spot for lunch, Southern Kitchen. The home was very neat and tidy.

The apartment was clean and cozy, and well stocked. The location is very urban and you can hear EVERYTHING from the upstairs tenant.
The beds are very firm and the pillows are minimal. If you like fluffy pillows, bring your own. Also, the couch is on its last leg; it might be time for a new one. Same for the TV. Lastly, the internet is very spotty.

Clean, nice 1/2 duplex home. Neighborhood seems nice enough but as a female I would not feel comfortable walking by myself. My assumption is it would not be wise to walk alone when dark.

This apartment was a great place to stay and met all of our needs as a family on a mixed trip - me working and family members sightseeing and visiting friends & family! It was a comfortable and clean space for our visit, and the hosts were very kind and quickly responsive when a couple logistical questions came up throughout the week of our stay! It was a good jumping off point for my workshop in downtown Tacoma and the family's visits all around the area! Highly recommend this location and the hosts!

We stayed at this location while we were in Tacoma for USATF regionals. It was close to Mt. Tahoma High School, which was a great location for what we were in town for. The property was clean and tidy, and the house was spacious.

We went to Tacoma for a family wedding. Although Tacoma is a little rough, our host was very easy to work with and responsive to our texts!

This was our first time staying at an actual "home" away from home. It was very comfortable and roomy for us. Everything we needed, just like our own home. Now the best part was THE BED!! Maaaan!! We slept and didn't even move! Woke up feeling good! The most comfortable bed ever! I reached out to the owner and he sent me the link to this bed! Our is coming in Tuesday! We will be back yearly for this spring break trip and staying here, for sure!

Quick trip to convention center. The spot was a great place to come back to at the end of a day. My daughter, sister and dad stayed here for my daughter’s gymnastics meet. Red Elm cafe is excellent and just around the corner. Didn’t get to try the other ice cream spot around the corner

Just what we were looking for! This Tacoma property provided us with a wonderful opportunity to visit with family and friends during the holiday. It was also ideal to visit some of our favorite local spots. Everyone rested well, was very comfortable, and fully enjoyed the property. We were pleasantly surprised about all of the economic development done in the area and felt safe; as a result, it was a nice spot for our needs, and we would book again.

So many good things to say about this little house on a hill. It's close to town, newly renovated, easy parking, comfortable furniture, nice little heaters in all the rooms for individual temperature control, nice big flat screen to watch NetFlix, Amazon Prime, etc.
Overall a great place - loved it!
I'd definitely stay here again.

A really great lodging value in Tacoma!
The property was a great value as well as comfortable in size and room configuration. The one bathroom is quite large and adequate for our party of three. We found the mattress in the larger bedroom to be extremely soft and the pillows too wimpy. The on-street parking was very accessible however the tents along the nearby street with homeless were a little unsettling. There was also a fair amount of noise from the upstairs occupants. This property was much more comfortable than a hotel and at a great rate. The property contact, Mr. Rios, was very responsive. We would stay here again but bring our own pillows.

Neighborhood
We enjoy this home because we can walk to our son's home. So sad to see the homeless tents popping up so we didn't walk to their home. Can't the city do something about the tents that do harm to your area? Hope they are gone next time we visit!

A comfortable home in Tacoma
The home was clean and comfortable, and slept 5 of us easily. It is in a neighborhood that doesn't have much around it that we would want to walk to, but that was the only downside. The owner was very responsive when I had any questions, and we would definitely look to rent the property again when we are next in the area.

Townhouses
We rented both units for the weekend which was convenient for all of us to be together. There were 12 of us - with a child on the floor (air mattress was onsite) and a child on the couch.
- The beds in the masters were comfortable. However, the other queen or double beds were not comfortable for 2 people since they sagged in the middle. So an ideal sleeping count would really be 5 down and 4 upstairs (no bunk bed upstairs).
- The pillow situation was horrible and we ended up buying some pillows. The bedding was washed with some very perfumy detergent. I am sensitive to perfumes so was uncomfortable. Fortunately also bought pillow cases for the pillows we had to buy so didn't have the perfume in my face.
- The weather was cool and wanted to open the windows. However, several windows were missing screens.
- On the first day we were there we found a roach in the kitchen and when stripping the beds found a bed bug in one of the beds. Maybe that is common is that climate. ??
- If you were to have neighbors upstairs that you didn't know, the noise from up there would be annoying. You could hear walking and when the washing machine ran up there, it was noisy in the downstairs unit. So if you are renting one of them, rent the top unit - it will be much quieter.
- The yard was not cared for - mostly dirt and weeds. Maybe that is also common in that climate.
- The location was convenient to stores for groceries (and pillows). The neighborhood was a little questionable but I didn't feel unsafe.
- No dishtowels so had to use hand towels and wash clothes. Maybe that is intentional by owner.

Beautifully updated, great location
Beautiful updating with nice paint on walls, updated throughout with flooring, fixtures, tiling, counters, etc. The rain drop shower head in the glass shower is fun. No tub. All very clean. Decorated nicely as well. More bare most of it but then decorations don't fill up the space (or get broken).
Easy parking in the front if there's space and always available parking in the dedicated space in back if you are fine walking through the backyard and around to the front to use the code for the front door. The area felt safe enough.
The sheets/bedding/towels smelled very strongly of the Gain washing detergent. A little overpowering but you know they're clean! We used (and were appreciative of the ability to use) the washer and dryer. They worked well. The pillows on the beds were very flat but some people like that.
There's a Safeway only a few blocks away, which was great for saving a few bucks and utilizing the kitchen.
All in all a wonderful place to stay!

Very Clean and Comfortable
Never having stayed in a VRBO property before, we weren't too sure how the experience would go. Well, I give our stay 5 stars. Mike accommodated us all along the way. He was quick to answer my emailed qusestions, he didn't hesitate to accommodate our late arrival, and he was gracious in allowing us to keep the family together by allowing one more person in our stay. The house was clean and gave us a very comfortable oasis for our 4 day visit.

Great place to stay while in town for my brother's wedding.
My sister's family rented the unit upstairs so it was a perfect place for out of town family to stay close. The units were great! Loved the decor and my kids loved the bunk beds. It had everything we needed!
My only wish was the backyards combined but that is probably just wishful thinking since we had both units.

Great place to stay
This was a very nice place to stay. Mike has done a very nice job of remodeling and there was plenty of room for us. This home offered a nice open floor plan, great kitchen and full bath. There were full size towels- not those skimpy ones that you find in other places. It’s the things like this that make It feel more like home. Mike was very responsive to my emails. I would stay here again.

Nice, comfortable Town Home in Tacoma
This was a really nice place for my family of five to land for a few days at the end of a week long trip to the area. The three rooms allowed for rest and privacy.
The place is clean and newly renovated.
Microwave, oven, full sized fridge, dishwasher.
No laundry facilities
Plenty of towels and washrags
Drip coffee with filters and ground Folgers, sugar and powdered creamer included, simple cookware. Plenty of dishes and glasses.
Mike, the owner, was a little slow in responding to email inquiries, but we got in touch to work out the check in. He’s pretty hands off compared to some hosts, but we’re fine with that. It’s a nice place centrally located near many nice attractions. We rested well and enjoyed our stay.

great situation
The house was great and met our needs. It was only a mile to our daughter's house where we did all the cooking and chatting. So just used the house for sleeping and it was quite nice. Each person could adjust their temp in their bedroom to their preference. The place is newly remodeled and very neat and tidy and we really felt welcome. There was a white board up that reviewed the house rules (no problems) and requests (good guidance). We would stay there again and highly recommend. Very close to Pacific Ave and its restaurants and museums.
