About this cottage rental
Refurbished over the past 3 years. Adjoined to family home (owners 17thc. Thatched Cottage), with its own private access, this spacious 'cottage-style' property is perfectly placed in the heart of the village, yet tucked away at the end of a private lane.
A stone’s throw from village shops selling tasty pasties and Devon ice creams, as well your everyday basics, post office, surf shops and hire, and just around the corner the famous Thatched Barn Inn and Billy Budd’s. Manor Cottage is minutes from the footpath to Croyde beach (easy level walk about 10 minutes), so it is ideally placed for those warm beach days, a short stroll or surfing some legendary waves. We have three great beaches on our doorstep – Croyde renowned for its surf, Putsborough more sheltered and Saunton. Manor Cottage provides the ideal base from which to explore this fabulous coastline on foot, bike, bus or even horse. It is a great spot for a long break or a quick getaway.

Downstairs: Well-equipped kitchen/dining area with cooker/oven/grill, microwave, dishwasher, good- sized fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer, extendable dining table for 5, as well as basic pantry items.
With its glorious view of the garden, the beamed lounge comfortably seats 5 and has a TV with Freeview/DVD player and a selection of local book club books to flick through at your leisure. Wi-Fi is available at no extra charge.
Lounge patio door leads onto a secluded and sun-filled patio, surrounded by sweet chestnut trees and summer blooms, perfect for a late breakfast or evening bbq. Patio has table and chairs and bbq (charcoal not included) just right for al fresco dining.
Beyond, is a lovely enclosed lawned garden, ideal for children to play or just to peacefully relax listening to the birds and the sea. This is a shared garden, but, large enough for guests to enjoy their own space.

Perfect location and wonderful stay. Immaculately clean and absolutely everything that we needed. It was so well equipped. Great to have two bathrooms with teens. The view from the kitchen to the bird feeders was a wonderful bonus - even spotted a woodpecker.

We had a great couple of nights in this cosy cottage and it was perfect for our family of five. The kitchen was well equipped and we arrived to a lovely tray of cream scones and tea. It's located in the heart of the village and short walk to the wonderful pubs. We'll be back!

Short Break Away
The property is lovely, very clean, well equipped and so close to the village and a short walk to the beach. Its a good size for a family it also has a lovely garden and ample parking. Excellent short break
A very comfortable quiet cottage in a great location, with everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Paddy was lovely and on hand if we needed anything (we didn’t!) Beautiful garden which we just looked out on due to the rainy weather, but imagine it to be an idyllic spot to sit out in on warm days/evenings. Oh and in the cottage there’s an excellent selection of books to read too!

A perfect gem
Spacious, clean and well-equipped property. Communications beforehand were excellent. Lovely welcome touches - scones, jam and clotted cream, a bunch of fresh flowers and Christmas decorations in the living room (after checking with us first!).
Beds were comfortable with a lot of storage accommodation. Two bathrooms, one with bath (upstairs) and one with shower (downstairs). A large heated towel rail in the shower room was a lovely surprise!
Location was great - less than a mile from the sea. Beautiful beaches and coastal footpaths. The weather was good enough to allow for long hikes by the sea.

Lovely short break in a cosy, quiet cottage.
This is a lovely cottage with all the facilities you need to make it a hassle free self catering holiday. (Washing machine/tumble drier/dishwasher and very good Wi-fi) Quiet, peaceful spot yet right in the heart of Croyde so close to pubs/restaurants and a short, flat walk to the lovely beach.
The friendly owners are on hand to welcome you and are easy to contact if you need anything.
We would definitely recommend Manor Cottage.

Lovely cottage, great location
A perfect cottage in the centre of Croyde, really well kept, beautiful views, loads of space, really comfy beds! Gordon the owner welcomed us and showed us around and even provided a lovely cream tea on arrival, really nice touch.
You really couldn't ask for a better location, it's a 10 minute walk Croyde beach or a 15 minute drive to Woolacombe beach.
Would definitely visit again and will be recommending it to everyone!

An ideal holiday apartment
I have stayed before but was happy to find the apartment has been re-decorated, and the facilities have yet again (judging by a previous reviewer) been improved. We were especially happy that free, but secure, wi-fi is now available.

Better than ever
We have stayed here before and was always very nice, but was pleased to see that the property had undergone recent re-decoration and improvement. We do prefer to self-cater and the kitchen improvements have made it much better for us, with new and larger fridge/freezer particulary. Also having a tumble drier will be good for drying if the weather is not so good out of season.
Thanks to Gordon for yet another great holiday.

Fantastic cottage in the centre if Croyde
We have just got back from staying at the Manor Cottage in the centre of Croyde. We all had the most amazing time and have booked two further week breaks for this year at the cottage. The cottage is located in the centre of Croyde and walking distance to the three local pubs and the local surf shops and not forgetting the beach which only takes 10 minutes to walk to from the cottage. My two girls age 15 and 13 and I have spent the week surfing and the beaches are breathtakingly beautiful and it was lovely to come back and relax in the cottage which has more than enough room to sleep 6 comfortably. The garden is beautiful and with a BBQ meant we spent a couple of nights outside enjoying the views overlooking the hills.
I would give the location and accommodation 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend this holiday cottage to any of my friends and family and cannot wait until my next visit. Nicola, Amy and Melissa.

Creature comforts
My famly and I have been coming to Croyde for many years and find everything we need and want in Manor Cottage. Wonderfully spacious and clean inside with a lovely quiet garden with seating to the rear. Easy parking at the front, well lit for those late nights! In a location that is only a minutes walk from the village and just a short distance from the beach. Travelling about is easy too, close to towns, villages and resorts, using car or public transport. Plenty of places to eat locally or further afield. Excellant customer service, with owner living next door, always willing to lend a hand if needed. Croyde is an excellant holiday destination for any aged person and Manor Cottage has all the creature comforts in making your stay enjoyable. That's why we go back year after year!!

My Holiday Review on a Good Holiday
I have just returned from a Weeks holiday in Croyde Bay where I use to go as a Child and was not disappointed!. This property is in a very good location which is a short walk to the beach and although in the Village its located on a quiet lane with private parking. The owner lives in the property next door who was very friendly and helpful. The Surf is really good so good for the adventure seekers and teenagers. The families with small children have the beach close by but also lots of things to do if the weather is not so good, there are lots of farms and children's adverture places to visit. The property was clean, well-maintained and ideal, we will definitely come back.
