Comfortable beds
The limited secure parking. Even though there was always parking this time around, I was concerned I may not always get a spot.

The staff was friendly and the room was generally clean and neat. We appreciated the extra touches like biscuits with the tea and coffee, and nice amenities in the bathrooms.
The location is just off the main road and started getting noisy at 4am - even on a Sunday morning. The bathroom smelled of old cigarette butts.

The location was perfect. Close to the high school were we attended sport and functions.
Parking is a bit of a challenge when the guest house is fully booked.

Don't be fooled by this buildings grey exterior - inside it is as luxurious as a gentleman's club in London! It's more of a boutique hotel as the lounge is utterly luxe and the rooms are wonderfully furnished. However it is the host Yolande who is the star of a star-studded show - she is just so welcoming, helpful and professional, and really took the time to make me feel welcome and safe as a solo traveller. Her directions for the places I wanted to visit were also very much appreciated. There were just so many fab little touches - the olive leaves on my bed, the two types of water in the fridge, the bran muffin I was given in a tupperware when I said I was too full to eat it, the sumptuous breakfast, the lovely staff, the old world wooden floors, the pool, the safe parking, I could go on.
Breakfast was fabulous but a tiny bit confusing as it isn't advertised that there's muesli, fruit and yogurt available too. So my cooked breakfast (a choice of three - how fab is that?) arrived and then had to be taken away so I could eat my 'starter'. A very minor quibble but it meant my egg was hard by the time I got it back. I am only saying this as constructive feedback as it didn't affect my hugely pleasurable stay one bit!
Also the guesthouse is not near Paarl's restaurants so you'd have to get an Uber or drive if you want to eat out Again, not a big drawback at all.
