One of the staff really very helpful to us, he helped my daughter to glue her shoe and deliver to her room personally. Really appreciated for such a extra services or helps. Once again, thank you very much to the staff from LiveMax Resort Hakone Ashinoko. From TMM June 12/06/2024

Very nice room, spacious. In the room there was a bed, as well as a table and chairs. There was also a small onsen in the room. Overall I liked the room very much, even the public bath met my expectations.
The breakfast was very good and tasty, a great selection of food.
A small minus is the location and the location. There weren't many restaurants around to go to for dinner and overall the location was very deserted in the evening (we probably didn't come in high season).

We chose this hotel for the private onsen in the room which was great ! The hotel also has its own outdoor and indoor onsens. Location was ideal for hiking - we got the ship across Lake Ashi and did a walk up Mount Mikuni and the surrounding mountains. You can get great views of Mount Fuji from the lake (which is a 10 min walk down from the hotel) if the weather is clear. To get here we got a train to Odawara and then a bus (ask tourist information in the station) which took about an hour, and there's a bus stop right outside the hotel.
The food wasn't great - but options nearby are very limited (it is quite remote !) so I would still recommend that you get dinner and breakfast included.

loved the in room onsen.
VERY far from everything. you need to have a car, but can manage with transit and patience. couldn’t adjust the onsen temperature so it was a bit hot for us.

it is more than its value, if you travel with your car.
the location is far away from the station, you need a car to get there.

The room was very spacious and there is an open air hot spring bath in the room. The room comes with a big tv and big beds. There were some options available to buy drinks and snacks.
It was not clear how and when to book for dinner in the hotel. All public transport in the area stops service very early (17:00~) so going out for food is hard. The personnel at the reception was friendly, but overall I didn't find the personnel at the accommodation very hospitable compared to other places. All activities at the hotel cost extra money. The beds were not very comfortable and there was a big spider in our room at some point. Breakfast was okay, refills of empty food was minimal. It's an okay hotel, but don't expect anything fancy. You can also not get super close to the hotel with the Hakone pass, to get closer you need to pay for the regular bus or walk some very steep slopes. If you want to go somewhere to relax and get pampered, skip this one.

The price for the stay of two.
It wasn't clean. It's like they just did the usual things but never really clean the rooms.
3.0
The room was clean and pleasant. Great that was able to enjoy actual onsen water both in the room as well in the public bath. Great communication and went above and beyond in determining if we desired to have dinner on our second evening. Impressed with the care they took to insure COVID safety.
Dinner and breakfast were identical both days we stayed and no variation. Had hoped for better quality food but should have understood this given the price was much less than competing locations.

The staff has been very understanding at our situation being stuck on a traffic around gotemba and made sure we could still enjoy our buffet dinner even at the last minute.

The private onsen was really nice! Room was very, very clean. The staff were delightful, very polite and helpful.
The 3000 yen buffet only had cold food. For that price, I would have liked it to have at least been warm. However, considering how cheap the room was, I can’t complain too much.

This was the perfect place to relax after a week in the big city! I recommend it for sure! And if you have tattoos there is private onsen to enjoy.
It was a bit difficult to find it, and also to travel with big luggage.
4.8
The cleanliness, staff and facilities were all fantastic.
I will definitely be staying here on my next trip
Travel time to get there but that was part of the beauty with the location being remote.
