Breakfast was varied and tasty, catering to many different taste preferences. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Onsen were a delight. Kaiseki evening menu was very good value with many interesting and exquisite dishes. Well done to the exceptional chefs!
Outdoor onsen would have been nice.

Amazing Staff, had to change the booking at last minute, extremely helpful throughout the process.
There are 4 private baths which provide a nice space for those who enjoy soaking in privacy.
Location is not that far away from Togendai (ropeway station) about 15 minutes walk
Absolutely Nothing. Fully recommend staying here

Lovely place with private onsen available! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect, walking distance to Togendai.
The aircond/heater took a long time to regulate and it was very stuffy in the room at night when it finally heated up.

It was very comfortable! We liked wearing the yukata after Onsen
But we thought Onsen would be outside, like Anime 😆
My friend I cut ourselves because of the razor blades
Especially me, when I shaved, there was blood everywhere

Classic Ryokan- go there for the atmosphere and the bath. Skipped dinner but the buffet breakfast was good. Suggest a western room over the traditional as the futon was on thin side.
Futon was lacking- could probably have padded it a bit but oh well.

The hotel is located near a bus stop that is accessible to rest of Hakone and also there's a direct bus to Shinjuku, Tokyo. The breakfast was traditional Japanese style and I loved it. They also gave very good flavoured toast (e.g., Berries, Matcha, Black sesame) and they were really very good. Some of the staff cannot quite speak English so there were some slight difficulties communicating with them, but otherwise it was a good stay.
There was a fog on the day I went and the hotel was a little hard to find.

The staff were very friendly and allowed me to check in early (which, after arriving via ropeway, was very much appreciated). They explained when the local restaurants closed and how I can book a table with them. The private baths were also very relaxing and they had a wide selection of wash products to go with it. The hotel is located right next to a beautiful view of Mt Fuji and a bus stop.
One thing to note: I accidentally left behind a postcard to my family before I checked out. The postcard had a stamp and address on it, and the hotel posted it for me without me having to ask. Very much appreciated.
Minor nit-pick, but when the staff cleaned my room they opened the blocking curtains. There were nights where I forgot to close them and woke up early to the bright June sun. Not something to blame, but my advice is to remember to check your curtains.

Beautifully located with a garden which has a view out to Mt Fuji. Private onsen. Helpful staff.
Not asked at check-in whether I would like to make a reservation for dinner and no alternatives in the immediate vicinity. As it happened the staff were very helpful and arranged for a nearby restaurant to pick me up and drop me back at the hotel.

Clean, good size, comfortable, with large windows
This is an old fashioned hotel with refurbished rooms. Not cosy and lacked atmosphere.
Breakfast was a varied buffet, but nothing to write home about.
They can't do anything about the location. It is almost at the furthest point by bus (45mins) from the train station.
Buses are of course regular & on time (it is Japan!) with the bus stop just outside the property boundary.
The bus also costs 1170 Yen (approx £7) each way which is fairly expensive.

Very nice hotel with a amazing garden, nice private Onsen in case you don't want to go in public (no reservation required for Onsen so you might have to wait a bit. Very good breakfast with lots of options
Room was slightly old fashioned, I needed the power of a giant to open the window

We were given a yukata and it feels like i'm really immersing the Japanese culture. The sento (public bath house) is not crowded and literally i'm the only one present at that time. The staff can you call a ride service from your selected restaurant to eat out for dinner. Lastly they have a lot of selections for the breakfast buffet.
It's just that the location to any other tourist spots is unreachable.

Nothing we like this place. the hotel has a big front yard and easy for free parking if drive your own car.
the staff at reception doesn't speak English well and don't know how the receptionist at hotel was unable to speak basic English. Difficult to communicate. The message via booking all sent in Japanese and we replied back in English and didn't know whether they can understand. Also the room is old and dated which isn't worthy to the price we paid. This place has the wrong physical address shown on booking.com, when you try to search for this place, don't use the listed address shown on booking.com which will lead you to a wrong hotel, use the name of this place to search it on google map.

A view of the top of Mount fuji when sky is clear. Private onsen available. Near bus station and the ropeway. Super quiet and spacious to stay. Front desk staff very helpful
It's not near any convenience store or restaurants. You can't go in its own restaurant without a booking. We had to take a 20 min bus ride to find food at night.
Hotel is slightly aged e.g. the hair dryer blew a fuse

Location, no view or food, hard to get anywhere

Beautiful location at the top of the mountain and only 15 minute walk down hill to where we caught the Ropeway one way ticket down the mountain. Buffet breakfast was plentiful and good value. Private onsens/baths were dated but very welcoming.
Biit dated and very remote. No other food options around bit thst was ok. We booked the dinner at hotel which was pricey for what you got.
