About this house rental

Welcome to the largest oceanfront vacation rental in Newport Beach available for weekly and nightly rentals! This unique 3500 square foot 3 story home, built in 1931, (remodeled in 2011) is a one-of-a-kind vintage oceanfront property located just east of the Balboa Pier! There are 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms in the main 3 story, single family home. The 7th bedroom is a casita located off the courtyard to the left of the garage. There are 2 full bathrooms and 2 bedrooms located downstairs. The second story has 3 full bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. There is also 1 bedroom with a small attached ensuite room that be can be used for cribs or play pens. The third story is a crow's nest bedroom with a raised marine captain's platform and dynamite views of the harbor, pier and ocean through the porthole and expansive windows!

The spacious master bedroom has a king bed with exceptional ocean views, marble bathroom, spacious walk-in closet, flat screen TV, countertop with coffee maker, small desk, and a sitting area where you can sit and enjoy the view of the beach, Catalina Island and the gorgeous sunsets. A great room on the first floor adjoins the sun room, dining and living rooms. The dining room has a table that seats 10-12 with an additional folding table and chairs for 6 in the hall closet for larger parties. The kitchen has stainless steel Viking appliances, granite counters, Bosch dishwasher, a dual sink, and a small walk-in pantry. The oceanfront patio has a set of lounge chairs and a covered cedar Cabana with an L-shaped sofa, perfect for hanging out with family and giving shade on a sunny day. There is an extra large courtyard in the back of the house (25x28 or 700 sqft) with a picnic table, umbrellas, a gas BBQ and a hose for washing off from the beach. There is a shared laundry room for guests that is located in the courtyard, just to the right of the garage. There is a small apartment over the detached garage on the street-side of the property (not included in this rental). The only shared space is the laundry room off of the courtyard.

This house is in walking distance to local restaurants, the Balboa Island Ferry, boat rentals, shops and markets. This property is extremely popular AND it's the best deal on the beach for the size and amenities! Perfect for large gatherings, family reunions, wedding receptions and corporate events, so book now! It's the best vacation rental in all of Newport! There are 2 parking spots in the garage (No SUVs) and 3 additional spots located on the street, brick parking apron and the driveway to accommodate SUVs.
Top floor(3rd story) sleeps 5- 1 twin, futon and full bed.
Middle floor sleeps(2nd floor) 8- Bed on the right has a queen and a twin with a trundle w/ 2 twins(1 you have to pull out and put on the floor. only for a child, very thin mattresses). Bedroom on the left left has a queen. Master is a king.
Ground floor: 2 bedrooms with a full and a queen mattress. Sleeper sofa in living area.
Casita: Full mattress
Deck of the master bedroom is closed to guest.

This is probably one of the most well stocked and appointed vacation rentals I’ve stayed in. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook and feed a large family, the bathrooms all were stocked with soap and shampoo and plenty of toilet paper, the bedrooms are comfortable, plenty of extra pillows and blankets, there is a bathroom for every bedroom. And the back patio between the house, and the garage is a great spot to play spikes, and beach, chairs, and things you don’t want to leave on the front patio. There is parking for five vehicles, which is also unusual in this location, and it is far enough away from all the beach crowds, but still close to the Piers and the fun zone. We had a great day, and I would highly recommend it.

Very happy with the accommodations. Right on the beach, easy To locate, off street parking, nice house with bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate 6-8 couples. Walking distance to the pier, shopping, eateries, bars. Definitely worth a look for your next vacation stay at the beach.

This house should not be occupied due to extreme building code non-compliance! The CA Building Code, Chapter 10 - Means of Egress requires that an exit be provided from every sleeping room. The Master Bedroom does not have an operable window that meets the requirements of the CBC. There is a French door that would provide for the code’s requirements, but it is locked by a deadbolt that does not allow for it to be opened. When I called the manager to ask them to come and unlock the door, the told me that the Owner would not allow them to due to an issue with the deck directly outside of the door. So I guess they’ve decided that occupant safety is not important enough to spend the money on repairs. Additionally, without an openable window or door equal to 10% of the floor area of the room, or 25 sq. ft. the room does not have the required amount of natural ventilation; see CBC section 504 for light and ventilation.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although the property is dated, it was a wonderful place to gather. We enjoyed the beach, boardwalk and plentiful shops and restaurants surrounding the location. The nooks and crannies of the home were fun for our younger members of the family. The kitchen was easy to use and well supplied with dishes and cookware. We will never forget our experience in Newport Beach.
