Absolutely gorgeous as usual (5th stay). Amazing walks - amazing beaches. Only thing is, if you can't live without the World Wide Web then it's probably not for you (download speed about 0.3MB/sec). For us that was the best bit!

The title says it in principle. We enjoyed our stay veru much there. All necessary things were there.

This is a relaxing location near to lands end opposite the first and last pub almost but no noise. Within easy reach of many beaches, walks, and Sennan Cove.

We were really pleased with the cottage and facilities and had a fabulous week with really good weather which is always a bonus. When we arrived we were met by Senan who was really lovely and showed us where everything was, would definately recommend the cottage

Very homely place to stay, very well equipped, only downer is that the mattresses on bunk beds very thin and uncomfortable need changing but we would definitely book again loved it Thankyou

Our stay in the cottage was lovely and relaxing and the cottage had everything we needed. Often when staying away from home you expect to find things a bit lacking in the kitchen and you have to compromise meals to fit with what's available but that wasn't the case here. Towels were nice and big. Location was great. We found the cottage to be nice and clean. Owners son lives on site and although we didn't need anything I'm sure if we had he would have sorted it.

Our initial impressions of the cottage we’re good. We felt it was basic, but clean and suitable for our week away. We have read that turning into the parking space was tricky, but we both managed it with minimal stress in our estate car. We have visited the area nearly every year for 20years so we know the roads and beaches relatively well. We were overjoyed to learn that the weather was set to be warm and sunny all week and we managed 8 days on the beach. The cottage is well placed for both surf at Sennen and calmer beach days at Porthcurno. Lands End is a short walk and St Just a quick drive up the road.
On our fist evening I found the previous occupants dirty towels hung on the bedroom door, which then set doubt in our minds as to how clean the accommodation actually was. During the week my husband swept the downstairs floor and found several items of rubbish behind the sofa that didn’t belong to us. A mug had been replaced in the cupboard that hadn’t been washed up, and several plates had food crusted on them.
We were never told about the recycling system until the 6th day we were there. I couldn’t find any information in the cottage on what I should’ve done. The bedlinen in the second bedroom was of very poor quality. The kitchen had what I can assume was once a chopping board but was in such a poor state I had to chop meat and vegetables on a plate, and given how blunt the knives were I’d guess I wasn’t the first. None of the mugs or plates mugs matched which gave the place a run down feel. The immediate area around the cottage although ok, was plagued with a smell of fishing equipment which was coming from the property lived in on the site of the cottage.
The Rayburn although lovely to see meant that the cottage was so hot it was almost unbearable sleep at night. We were told it burns all the time and to just open windows. This made very little difference. My family won’t return to Ivy Cottage, for the price we paid for a week it needs a big overhaul and some care given to the finer details. We have stayed in other cottages for less money that have been spotless and well cared for.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was all cleaned on arrival. We found the cottage very cosy and warm. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equiped. The garden had a little sitting area and BBQ. A nice pub with playground just a cross the street and a shop not far away.

Nice Cottage
The cottage itself was fine a bit dated, but access was very tight to drive in, almost impossible. The host Sennen was helpful and a happy man but the area around his bungalow was very messy and unattractive to new guests.

Clean tidy neat little cottage, good level of equipment.
Only draw back is very very tight entrance to parking spot. Anything bigger than a hatchback would really struggle

Very pleasant cottage short walk from beautiful beach. Lovely holiday.

The cottage was well equipped, and a short drive from Sennen Cove. As mentioned in some of the other reviews the soft furnishings are a bit tired. It could do with new sheets and towels. The sofa and armchair could do with replacing. The listing detailed a BBQ, but we couldn't find it.

Nice cottage
Exactly as I expected. Nice old cottage in a good location for pub, shops and beach. Decor is quite old fashioned but that’s not a problem. Nice place to stay.

The Raeburn is a huge asset in changeable summer weather for drying kit. The access is quite tight for larger cars, but you are met on arrival until you get accustomed to it.

We all enjoyed our stay in this lovely bright and cheerful cottage last week. Thanks to Senan for making us so welcome. Cottage is on a quiet lane but very close to local pub shop and bus stop. Open top Atlantic Coaster is recommended for stress free travel around the area with fantastic views.

Spent a wonderful two weeks at ivy cottage. The cottage itself is all you could ask for, clean, well equipped and comfortable.
Situated close to a wealth of fantastic walking, amazing coastal villages and coves and numerous attractions.
The owners son Senan (who lives next door) is a wealth of information and could not do enough to help.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Cornwall check this place out. I will certainly be returning!

Cosy farmhouse
The house was permanently warm and cosy. On wet days ( of which we had a few), our clothes dried rapidly due to the constant warmth from the Rayburn stove. Nice size kitchen, good internet connection . Food available every day at the local friendly pub just over the road. Little supermarket open everyday too as well as a weekly farmers market. The rental suited us.

Traditional Granite Cottage near Sennen
Great base for walking and beach. The Rayburn was great - the kitchen was always warm and you could dry a few clothes overnight. The cottage was a little tired and the sofa chair was only really suitable for a small child. Friendly pub minutes away for food, drinks etc.

Love Ivy Cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ivy Cottage. It provided everything we needed with its cosy comforts.
It was a great base for days at the beach and walking to take in the beautiful views.
Would love to stay again.

Lovely Break Away
Our grandson asked us when we are going back to our cottage again. Unfortunately he now thinks we own the property...........Super stay.

Fab!
Hi Michelle,
Our stay was most enjoyable and we had a wonderful weeks holiday – the cottage was very cosy and well appointed, and Senan was very helpful & made us feel at home immediately upon our arrival. We will definitely recommend to other people.
On another note, you should update your bathroom description in the online Facilities section as it states bath (no shower) – a shower is a must for most people in this day & age so you shouldn’t undersell your property on this particular point!
Best Regards,
Duncan Miller
PS could you please advise when the £250 refundable breakages deposit will be remitted to my account please? Thank you.

Great cottage in a super situation for walks along cost and access to local beaches, etc.
Really cosy and characterful cottage. Feels like a home. Well equipped and practical. Lovely small sunny garden to sit and enjoy refreshments. Friendly neighbour.

Cosy little cottage
My husband and I stayed in this cottage for a week and we found it very comfortable. It has anything you could possibly need for staying in and cooking your own meals, which we loved! I also have to mention great wifi, which was a saviour on rainy days.
The owner was communicative and helpful. Their son lives in the property next door and that also was very convenient when we had some questions.
The best thing about the cottage is the location - a nice family pub is just across the road, there's a lovely cafe just 8 mins walk from the cottage, Fish and Chips place and a small shop for essentials is also down the road. Lands End Visitor Centre is just 15 mins walk (or 3 mins drive) and the beach at Sennen Cove is also about 5 mins drive. The cottage feels like you are in a quiet and isolated spot but you are still not far from civilisation. Great stay!

An unforgattable
Cornwall, an area of extreme beauty : we were fortunate to have a splendid weather: the sun each day; Ivy Cottage, which we marvel when we arrived so it is nice to live there - very comfortable and cozy; we enjoyed the warmth that gave the RAYBURN.
Tom's cousin Senan - absent due to strike of French railways - is super nice. Carol, a neighbor is dedicated and good advice. What about 'Charlie' otherwise it is an adorable dog with which we have done many walks along the cliffs. Hello Charlie, you are a good boy!
We returned home with wonderful memories and already have an idea back in the England which did not fail to surprise us.

Mixed feelings
"We have some mixed feelings about our stay. It is absolutely a lovely cosy place and we have had a very pleasant stay.
However, from the description, pictures and comments we did expect it to be more freely in the landscape with better views. The views are constraint to upstairs if it is not misty. And it is misty a lot of the time in this area, as we have experienced and have been told.
The heating was with a kerosine-heater/oven. But this caused a smell. We found this not suitable for our baby. Luckily the electrical heaters worked good as well so this was not really a problem.
For this review I have read the description once more. I see cleaning is not included whereas we assumed it was. Our apologies for that."
