The Ref-Nest is located in the highly desirable neighborhood of Chambers Landing on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, just past Homewood and Homewood Ski Resort. With six bedrooms and three bathrooms, this spacious, one of a kind home sleeps 16!
Custom built by owner/contractor, you’ll have 4000 square feet of space in this cabin, designed with large family gatherings in mind. The expansive great room features a large river rock wood-burning fireplace, comfortable furnishings for TV viewing, reading, and table games. Wi-Fi keeps you connected. Off the great room, the outdoor deck features a gas grill and is a fantastic place for summer dining, bird watching, or sunbathing.
The fully equipped modern kitchen features a large island with granite countertops and seating for six, a dining table that accommodates ten, and abundant cabinet space including a pantry.
The master suite with king bed has plenty of room for additional young children and a full bathroom next door. All the above are on the entry level of the home.
The downstairs includes five bedrooms: one king, two queen bedrooms, and two bunkrooms with four beds each. One bunkroom has a game area with TV and foosball. There are two full bathrooms, a common vanity with double sinks, and a washer and dryer. An exterior door leads to the beautifully landscaped backyard.
In winter, the driveway accommodates four cars. In the summer, you may also park on the street and the side of the house. The garage is available when the ping-pong table is not in use.
In summer months, the cabin is a short walk to our 'members only' private beach at Chambers Landing, known for its pristine views of Lake Tahoe. Visitors can also enjoy the public sandy beach and historic restaurant, bar, and pier at Chambers Landing. Transportation is made easy by catching a ride on the shuttle service.
Your home away from home is close to Meeks Bay, with a terrific sandy beach and paddleboard and boat rentals. Located on National Forest Land, the Meeks Bay shoreline is popular for its beautiful scenery, clean beaches, and easy access. The area offers a high concentration of recreation opportunities including swimming, biking, boating and hiking into the nearby Desolation Wilderness.
You won’t want to miss the icon of Lake Tahoe, Emerald Bay, a short drive away. Emerald Bay State Park boasts 360-degree picturesque views that encompass Emerald Bay, Fannette Island, Eagle Falls, and Vikingsholm Castle.

Very spacious for a family reunion. Very well stocked kitchen with room and a second fridge in the garage. Great deck and backyard for outdoor lounging. Had issues with cell connection and a representative drove to the house to ensure we got in - much appreciated. Lots of bear activity so enjoy the experience but heed the precautions.

home. We love the location and that there is so much room for a large group to spread out. Even with the need to repair or replace the sofa and some other deferred maintenance, I would still recommend this property.

We stayed here for my husband’s 30th and it was perfect. Most bedrooms were downstairs while the hang out areas were upstairs... it was great for the night owls and the early birds to not wake each other up. The house was beautiful. Would absolutely recommend.

We had a lovely time at Ref-Nest. Everything was clean and tidy and very comfortable. It was just 5 minutes away from skiing at Homewood. Lots of great amenities such as a high chair, pack n play, gates for all of the stairs, and 1000 piece puzzles. Only suggestion I would make would be to update the sofa bed downstairs. First Accommodations was also incredibly helpful and compassionate when one of our cars broke down and we had to have a late check out.

This cabin was absolutely perfect for our large group with young kids! There was so much space for everybody to play, relax, and enjoy time together. Yet plenty of bedrooms for everyone to retreat to. Everything was clean, organized, and inviting. We were especially grateful for the two coffee machines, so that there would be enough coffee for everyone in the morning at once. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and unique. The rental company was responsive and accommodating, and we would definitely come back here again with our friends or family!

House was awesome! Big and nicely decorated. Apparently a couple of my adult children left car doors unlocked and a bear got into their vehicles, drank a whole.box of Capri sun's and torn open my grandsons lunch box. But luckily not too much damage a few holes poked in seats from bear. Saw it the next morning walking down the street. Wish the deck had been cleaned off so that we could of walked out on it but was pretty cold anyways. Kids played in the snow in back yard. Great trip!!!

Perfect for family fun
Perfect accommodation for a large family group. This was our second stay at this lovely, spacious home. We love the west shore location with access to Chambers landing beach . Our children and grandchildren have such fun.. The Ref-nest has plenty space for everyone to spread out and feel comfortable and relaxed. With all the use that this comfy home has experienced, it is understandable that some minor repairs are due. The kitchen is well supplied , but it would have been nice to have a knife sharpener and non breakable glasses and plates for children. We all look forward to our next stay!

Great Experience
This was my first VRBO booking and couldn’t be happier. The property manager was very responsive and made the entire experience easy. The house was clean and easily accommodated 15 people. We were also able to bring dogs which was a big plus. It’s located in a great neighborhood and very close to Homewood ski resort and state parks. I would definitely recommend this place.

The house was very well laid out with a mudroom out front, all bedrooms in the same location (other than one), kitchen was well equipped and the living area is very accommodating for large groups. The location is also great as it's right by the lake and very accessible for walks.

Great getaway
We had a great time staying in this beautiful property! The house looked just like it does in the photos. The kitchen was so spacious and well stocked. The backyard was a great play area for the kids, and we could watch through the big picture windows. There were lots of puzzles and games, although we couldn’t find the ball for the foosball table. We had never stayed on this side of the lake before, but we loved the location being so close to Homewood Resort and a sledding park, and gorgeous views of the lake driving in and out. We would definitely consider staying here again!

Large family ski weekend
We have a large family with lots of cousins and kids and there was lots of room for everyone to spread out. Kids found areas to hangout and there was plenty of seating for meals and hanging out in the living room. The house had everything we needed. It’s hard to find houses that can comfortably fit 16! Thanks for a great stay.

Great location and beautiful cabin. Upon entering, it was very homey and spacious. It was also very accommodating with many things to do and use such as a wide variety of kitchen utensils and board games. Great house for our 3 generation family. 50 years vacationing on Westshore this was best location for all. More bears than usual. Car broken into first nite. Many breakins around are area during our stay. Bears all during the day and nite. Definitely need to be aware of them. Otherwise great stay.

This was our second stay at RefNest and I hope there will be many more. For thirty years we have rented on the West Shore and RefNest is our favorite. Not only is it a beautiful home and yard but the owners seem to recognize the little things that make a visit comfortable— like plenty of empty space in the pantry so we can put our groceries away and a trash compactor so the garbage doesn’t overflow and TWO refrigerators. It’s much appreciated.
