The owner was gracious and accommodating and the location was ideal for great dining and shopping. The Garden District is beautiful and inviting.
The bathroom is a little tight if you have any mobility issues

Absolutely beautiful house and room. Why stay in a boring hotel when you can stay somewhere with so much character?! The owner is lovely and very helpful, even letting us leave our luggage there at 7am the day we checked in. There are so many great places to eat within walking distance. Bed very comfortable. Love the balcony. Wholeheartedly recommended.

- Our host was super friendly and easy to reach to coordinate our arrival
- There are breakfast snacks and drinks available every morning. The banana bread and cupcakes were so yummy
- It's a super walkable neighborhood with a lot of restaurants and shops
- Spacious rooms and overall quiet
- Authentic experience to stay in such a home in New Orleans instead of a random hotel
Since it's an older house, there was sadly a dust mite issue. My allergies started up from the first night and did not stop until the day we left. So, if you have a dust mite allergy, bring meds and bare with it as I did or don't stay here.

This property was perfect for us. The New Orleans style home was a great surprise when we pulled up virtually outside. Raynell was extremely helpful throughout our stay. The room with balcony was perfect and the continental Brekky was very adequate. The neighborhood was safe and very pretty. Although the centre of town was about 1.5 kms away it was a pleasant walk or the public transport was easy to navigate.
Nothing.

Wonderful location on Magazine Street close to Lafayette Cemetery and historic mansions. Public transport options nearby. Historic home furnished with antiques, marvelous framed New Orleans artifacts and ancient maps from colonial period.. Coffee, tea, muffins, scones and assorted munchies in downstairs parlor. Computer for guest use. Our hostess, Ray, very helpful with information and a delight to talk with.

Location was great and owners were great. Breakfast was good but nothing special.
The only complaint and it’s a minor one was that the bathroom was a little cramped.

Rooms were clean and beautiful antique decor. Raynell is an amazing, friendly host and made us feel right at home. She was very responsive to requests and questions. The bathroom is a bit tight, but the claw tub had a shower which was very nice and the towels fresh.
The location is right off the 11 bus line on the same block which runs frequently. The trolley is 5 blocks away—a 7-10 minute walk. The trolley was fun to ride, but runs slower and behind schedule a bit. The buses were very convenient. Get the jazzy pass!
Nothing. If you get an upstairs room, the stairs are windy and narrow, but it seems all the rooms have their own private entrance. There could be one extra sensor flood light added to the side of the home closer to the front end of the side entrance alley. Used our phone flashlight when we got home late until the safety flood light turned on near the private entrance.

Ray was so lovely and the property was perfect. A really great value for all the space inside and the balcony! We loved the balcony so much and had coffee out there several times (try the iced chicory coffee from Vintage!). It was our first trip to NOLA, early 30s and looking to appreciate the area/not spend the whole time drunk. So SO happy we didn’t stay in the French quarter. This area had plenty going on but was clean and safe and stunning.

The location is great. Very close to many restaurants and shops, and very easy to get into the French Quarter. Raynell is always close by, if you have any issues. Although there isn’t really a proper breakfast during the pandemic, Raynell made sure that we had everything we needed, and it was nice having coffee, and wine on the terrace. There is also easy free parking on the street. We also had very good WI-FI.
