A stunning, spacious, self-catering, penthouse apartment across 2 floors located on Ilfracombe seafront. Directly opposite the Landmark Theatre and Wildersmouth Beach.
Sleeping up to 12 people, the is a fabulous, well equipped apartment , WITH PARKING!! and seafront location, offers all the holidaymaker could want. It also works great for two families to stay together for holidays.
This is a large penthouse apartment just across the road from Wildersmouth Beach and the famous Landmark Theatre and tourist information centre, as well as Tunnels Beaches, a very popular wedding venue, and of course us walking distance to everything that Ilfracombe has to offer.
Although the apartment is at the rear of the property and has no "direct" sea view, it is located just over the road from the famous Landmark Theatre and the seafront/ promenade that is Wildersmouth Beach , making this a great location for your holiday. We have several repeat guests who love this place for its size, comfort and location. It makes such a convenient base to explore the lovely abundance of restaurants. shops and beaches and Harbour life in and around Ilfracombe. Exmoor, Woolacombe , Combe Martin , Westward Hoe, Mortehoe, Croyde, Saunton and Braughton to name a few, are all just a few miles away.
We also have many costal paths and walks to be explored. The Famous Damien Hurst statue "Verity" standing proud down at the harbour. The harbour also has many other activities going on including daily fishing trips, the sea safari is a MUST for anyone that loves the water and fast boats ! Or there is the Ilfracombe Princess who offer daily trips out and is a little slower!! If you're really lucky you might get too see the dolphins and seals. !! There are also trips available over to "LUNDY ISLAND". There is also Ilfracombe aquarium with a tea room/cafe. We also highly recommend hiring bikes from Fremington and cycling the "Tarka Trail" something we do at least twice a year!!
Other places of interest in Ilfracombe are The Landmark theatre, Ilfracombe Museum, Tunnels Beaches, Capstone Parade, Bicclescombe Park , Cinema, High street with lots of victorian history, we have a Victorian week every May with locals dressed up and their very own performance put on in the high street, pubs, restaurants , coffee shops and shops. In the apartment once you arrive there is an abundance of local information with everything possible to see and do, and if course we are happy to answer any questions you may have prior to making your booking.
One of the largest and most comfortable self-catering apartments, spread across 2 floors in Ilfracombe. Access to the apartment is via a lift or stairs if you prefer, once inside, the long entrance hallway leads to a useful storage room—with storage facilities for boards, wetsuits, walking shoes, coats, bags, pushchair, wind-breakers etc.
The open plan living/dining room has the kitchen incorporated making this huge room and a great living space and the heart of the apartment. There are 3 sofas consisting of a 3 seater and two 2-seater brown leather sofas comfortably seat 8. One of the 3 seaters is a reclining sofa which has been added for your comfort.
There is a 42" TV on an entertainment unit with DVD/BLU Ray / Nintendo Wii and accessories. This is also a smart TV. We also have an abundance of dvd's for adults and children and NINTENDO WII games available for you to use and enjoy together.
The lounge area has a large soft rug, side tables, toy storage area, book swap and family games. This room has 6 windows all fitted with venetian blinds making it light and bright.
The dining table seats 10 people.
In the kitchen, the units house dishwasher, washing machine , large free standing fridge/freezer, and also an additional integrated fridge , oven, electric hob and extractor. We have also added a top of the range additional electronic microwave and conventional oven. All cooking items are supplied in abundance for you to enjoy your stay and make self catering easier within the apartment.
The top floor boasts 2 bedrooms both with private full ensuite shower rooms.
Bedroom 1 is a large ensuite room with king size bed. This master bedroom has a real sense of space and comfort. There is also plenty of room to fit travel cots for babies in there should you wish. As an added bonus there is a day bed in this room for use if required.
Bedroom 2 is a good size double ensuite room and has a standard double bed and also a separate single bed. This room is another lovely spacious and bright room.
On the ground floor there are a further two bedrooms.
Bedroom 3 has a Triple Bunk and additional single bed. The triple bunk has a small double on the bottom and a single top. Designed to maximise the space available. The bedroom is set up with 32 inch TV mounted on wall with integrated DVD player. This room has a walk in wardrobe for excellent storage. This room is light and airy with windows both side of the room.
On the same floor is bedroom 4, a smaller room which has two small bunk beds. This room is for smaller children only. The length of the shorty bunk beds is 1.4 metres, we advise children using them are no taller or older than 11 years. This room also has a separate walk in wardrobe and storage area with toys and books readily available for the children to play with.
The ground floor bedrooms are both decorated with bright splashes of colour and are modern, contemporary and comfortable rooms.
The family bathroom has a double shower and a separate bath with shower over also. This is decorated in a nautical theme and is a large spacious area.
The whole apartment on both floors has under floor heating with thermostats in each room to achieve just the right ambient temperature to make your stay comfortable.
There is a private parking space for 1 car on site to the front of the building and a permit can be applied for through the local council or tourist information centre to park a 2nd car in the car park opposite or other nearby car parks at the cost of around £40.00 for the week. This can be applied for in advance of your holiday and information for this will be provided.
The property is suitable for children of all ages and is also suitable for our less able guests. With level access from the car park area to the lift then taking you up to the penthouse. We have ample amount of books, games, toys, and some for the adults too. We have 2 Travel Cots and 2 high chairs available for your use as well as stair gates to make your stay even easier, and lighter when travelling !!

We had a lovely Monday-Friday stay in the two floor apartment. It had everything we needed and was in a great location to access the beach and hill opposite and walk to the harbour. We didn’t have the best weather (October storms) but the apartment was a great cosy but very spacious base to return to when we did venture out in the rain.
There’s a Lidl five mins up the road for essential groceries, a Tesco on the outskirts of town, some nice pubs by the harbour and Woolacombe is an easy drive.
A great space for bigger groups or a family of four like us!

Great location, spacious and very clean. Added bonus was the kiddies fun fair close by,closed in the evening.no noise at night. The property was good for our party. There were toys for the age of the children who were with us. The bedrooms were a good size. Two boys liked the bunk beds. Plenty of space to store food. Good layout in living room /kitchen. We have had a good time staying here even though the weather was not great. We would recommend 12 Wildercourt to our freinds and family

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ilfracombe and staying in this apartment was the icing on the cake! Plenty of room for everyone and all the amenities we needed. We had to make sure only 1 of us had a shower at any one time as the pressure would drop off if we attempted 2!! Communication with the owner was excellent and she was really helpful in recommending places for us to eat during our stay. The apartment is central for everything you might need locally, and close enough for a short drive to the lovely sandy beach at Woolacombe. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we return to Ilfracombe one day!

Great Location
This property is located opposite a small beach and 5 minutes from the harbour in 1 direction and a small supermarket 5 minutes in the other. It is a good size and comfy for 4 adults, 1 with mobility issues so an ensuite on the ground floor was ideal. The property manager contacted us on check in day to assure us all was cleaned and the property was ready, and the biscuits and wine waiting for us was a nice touch. Overall this was a great place to stay.

Fantastic property, really spacious & well equipped for all needs. Property owner friendly & easy to get hold of if any issues. The location is great & easy walking distance to shops, harbour, pub, restaurants & what a lovely little town Ilfracombe is & the surrounding towns that we also visited. Parking was accessible & easy to book a second car with the local council to park in the car park across the road as we had two vehicles. Great family holiday destination and accommodation
We stayed at the apartment with my sister’s family and ours, 9 of us in total. The apartment was perfect, a great location, well equipped and very clean, everything we hoped for. Ilfracombe was a perfect location, with the apt only a gory walk away from the harbour. Woolacombe, and Croyde were only a short drive away and we spent some lovely days on the beach there. All in all, a great family holiday destination 😎

Central Home Location to Explore Locally
We found the apartment very clean and spacious with all required amenities for a lovely break. Parking was very convenient as we used the apartment for a base to explore locally each day. Even in the rain the kids had a wonderful time quad biking and horse riding less than 3 miles from the property!
We must have explored about 8 different beaches from the busy to the off the beaten path and had a great time swimming in the sea!
We fished and took boat rides and really enjoyed being away from home for the first time all year!
When we returned home after dinner we also enjoyed the kids racing to their room to watch a DVD on their own, affording us every evening to relax together!
We could not figure out how to set up the Wii at all, but didn't need it as we went out even in the rain to explore!
A shame the Tunnels Beach was shut for the season, but a very small disappointment and in no way related to the apartment!

Ilfracombe holiday apartment review
Have stayed in Ilfracombe before in several self catering houses and apartments. This one is the best by far. Very close to central facilities and harbour and beautifully prepared for us on arrival.
The external parking space is a massive bonus, although some of the other garage spaces are a bit tight.
The side entrance is very convenient to come and go, once you have off loaded through the garage. The lift was very welcome sometimes as an alternative to the stairs.
We would definitely rent this property again and could not fault it in any way.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the penthouse apartment.
There was 10 members of our family 5 of which were our grandchildren, aged 5 to 15. Plenty to entertain them . The apartment was very spacious, clean , modern , couldn’t fault it all. Even a bottle of wine , tea coffee & biscuits to welcome us after our long journey. Excellent location.

Melanie answered any queries we had straight away . Even had a message to wish us safe journey home which was lovely.

Good base for a beach holiday in North Devon
We had a great week at this apartment in Ilfracombe. There was loads of space in the apartment for the five of us. The off street parking is ideal.
The kitchen is very well equipped, though we ate out nearly every day in Ilfracombe. It is just a short walk from the apartment to a verity of restaurants.
We took the short journey to the large, sandy Woolacombe beach as the beaches in Ilfracombe were quite small and mainly shingle.

Really Lovely Penthouse Apartment
Stayed with two toddlers (one crawling and one walking) as well as a grandparent. The apartment catered for all our needs easily. Really well set up for families. The owner was quick to respond with any questions and the apartment was gorgeous. Parking space was a bit awkward for a 4x4 but we managed.
Right in Ilfracombe so was close to all the amenities and well located for days out. Overall a brilliant family apartment.

Perfect location!
We had a lovely family holiday in Ilfracombe and will certainly be visiting again. The location of Paul and Mel's property is perfect for leaving the car parked up and exploring this lovely little town on foot. Similarly, the location within North Devon allows you to go and explore without too much time behind the wheel with Woolacombe and Croyde Bay being just a short drive away. As for the property, aside from the convenient location provides spacious practical living for 2 families. The upstairs bedrooms provide a peaceful adult haven away from the children and there are plenty of toys and games to keep the kids occupied downstairs. The security of the building was also a big plus point. The welcome pack was a great point of reference and ensured we were well informed about the property and the area itself. Booking was straightforward and Paul was on hand to answer any queries during our stay.
All in all, a great holiday and highly recommended!

A lovely light, spacious and comfortable apartment. We enjoyed a Christmas stay with our three grown up children and liked the fact that we could spread out. Three bathrooms were also useful! Beds were comfy, bedding and towels good quality. Plenty of kitchen utensils and cookware - including a cafetiere which was a boon. Could have done with an extra saucepan but that is a minor quibble. Helpful communication with the owners. Heartily recommend.

We visit Ilfracombe frequently to visit family and this self catering property is the best located yet that we've stayed in. It has plenty of space for larger parties and great care has been taken to provide everything you could possible need. I will certainly be checking for availability when we visit next.
