About our Staff
Chela and Claudia have been cleaning and caring for my guest homes for seven years. Chela and Claudia do a wonderful job as experienced experts in preparing the home for your stay. To insure our guests safety, we have increased the frequency of cleaning door handles, outlets, walls and have continued the use of high grade disinfectant. All linens, bedding, mats are laundered between guests. As it has always been, the safety and security of our guests and team members remains our highest priority.
Chela and Claudia take pride in their work! They receive extra incentives to do their best preparing the home for you; a bonus is provided to Chela and Claudia for any notes or reviews from our guests that highlight the cleanliness and care provided for your stay.
In addition to cleaning and preparation for your stay, my guest homes also have a full-time maintenance assistant at your service. Also, myself and my husband Larry, are always available to you for anything you may need assistance with during your stay.
Chela, Claudia, Maintenance, my husband Larry and myself all comprise a service team of five people to oversee the care and condition of 9 houses. We are scaled to the right size to allow for the time to give plenty of attention to the care of each and every guest home.
To ensure you get settled in and have a great start to your stay with us, we have provided an initial supply of small items around the house including toilet paper but these may not be enough for your entire stay and you may need to purchase additional supplies.

Cute house in the inside
4.0
The layout was good for our family of 8. Our host was gracious and responsive. The area was convenient but a few sketchy looking neighbors. The cleanliness was not the best - there was a mild sewage smell that permeated the house and several areas that just didn’t seem totally clean. Some of the furniture had broken springs, etc, just generally pretty weathered. The kitchen was stocked sparsely with not quite enough utensils and cook ware to easily prepare a meal. But it was enough to get by. Overall, it got the job done, but it was no luxury experience.

Property met our needs for supporting a family member having surgery.

We had a great time the house was cute and clean and close to everywhere we needed to go and the host was amazing at getting back to us. Would stay here again.

Our stay was amazing. Thank you for the hospitality!

The house is unique and has potential but does have a few things that need addressed. The front door doesn't seal at all and can daylight around most of it. The toilets were iffy (1 seat loose, the other wobbles on the base). The floors/rugs were very dirty and left my socks black walking on it. There is one kitchen chair that the seat spring popped out and its not the most stable. The living room tv didn't work, only the bedrooms. Also the tree at the garage door has branches hanging down that scratched the car roof. Overall nice stay but needs some more attention.

Very cozy home. Everything you need is available for a nice stay. Owners very responsive when we reached out to ask about using the fireplace. They are working on having it repaired for use. Very friendly owners. We’d rent there again.

The yard was unkempt and there were piles of leaves everywhere that migrated into the garage and into the home through the front door, as they were a lot of leaves gathered on the porch. There was minimal living space, the mud room & the screened sunroom had were made into sleeping spaces. There were towels left in the washer and empty gatorade bottle under the coffee table. There was a potentially hazardous piece of wood in the hallway ceiling halfway hanging down. There was a hole in the living room next to the fireplace that was never repaired. There seemed to be a roach infestation on one side of the kitchen in the countertop appliances (coffee makers & microwave), & the dishwasher. The owners were attentive and kept having the exterminator come, but the roaches never left. I just bought a can of spray to keep them at bay. I never really felt comfortable cooking, more than just using the oven due to the infestation. It appeared to be a 2-car garage, but the owners had taken up almost half the space for storage. The toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, and laundry supplies were rationed and I ran out, so I had to purchase my own. I was staying over 3 weeks, so I required quite a bit more than what was supplied. It was adequate for my needs, as I wasn't really using it as a vacation rental, but more so a crash pad until my new place was ready. The owners were communicative & responsive, but the condition of the property made it hard to relax & get comfortable.

Nice and cozy and clean
Nice, cozy and clean. We spent Easter weekend with my son and his teammates. We had plenty of room for dinners and visiting. Loved having the laundry room. It came in handy. Great location to Washburn University. Brandi was very responsive when we had questions. Would definitely stay again.

Great Place!
The place was clean and nicely decorated. It had everything we needed! The only minor issue we had was some of the doors were squeaky when people got up in the middle of the night, but other than that, it was very nice!

Saying Goodbye
We returned to Topeka with family for our Grandma’s Memorial service. The property had everything we needed and was near the house we grew up in. We enjoyed visiting Washburn where my Dad attended college and saw his old Frat house. We ran the Shunga Trail, ate BoBo’s multiple times, and had lots of Dairy Queen of course. Lots of memories here and staying in your home made our stay very pleasant. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Weekend Getaway
Home was the perfect size for my husband & I and 2 other family members. Well appointed and very tasteful decor. The only down side is there really was no easily accessible yard to use if you were interested in sitting outside. To get to The yard attached to the property you had to go out the front door & walk towards the end of the house through a gate. A little odd that no access was through a back door. The neighborhood is a bit rundown but at no time did we feel unsafe. A grill was available if you didn't mind using it on the driveway . Home was very clean & comfortable.

Plenty of room
Had a great stay at this property, made great use of the kitchen with making breakfast and spending time with family. Appreciated the use of the garage for security. Ran a load of laundry as we ran out of towels for 8 people but the owners provided laundry soap which made it super easy. Brandie is very nice and super responsive, would love to stay here again!

Low water pressure in 2nd shower
House was 80 degrees at check in took 4 hours to cool down to 75
Firmer mattress in porch bedroom would have been nice
Thank you!

Good house, rough location
The house was great. Older, but clean, and very accurately represented in the photos. Check in was smooth and easy. The location leaves quite a bit to be desired. Most of the area surrounding the house is rather run down. On 2 of our 3 nights in the house, we were woken up between 3:00 and 4:30am by loud noises and vehicles at neighboring houses. This is certainly no fault of the owners, but is something future renters (especially those with kids) should be aware of. The owners have installed a security system and have a camera at the front of the house, which did make us feel safer. There is very limited parking at the house, and I would not have felt comfortable leaving my vehicle unattended overnight outside the house. Fortunately the house has an attached garage that was clean and secure, which we appreciated. Overall, the owners seem to have done everything in their power to make the house both pleasant and safe, but the neighborhood is not great.

The house was warm and cozy.
The house is centrally located and has a lovely kitchen and living room for the family to hang out. The rental aspect was super easy. Well worth the cost.

Cozy place to stay
We enjoyed the décor and roominess of the place. The area around the home was a bit tired but not this home. My only suggestion would be to dust up a bit before an arrival if there has been a time gap in between stays. Also, the door knob in the bathroom needs fixed. We only had a piece of metal to pull on.

Beautiful home
Stayed here with my husband and kids for a long holiday weekend. They have done a wonderful job with this home and made it very accommodating. My sister and significant other were supposed to stay as well but did not travel due to COVID but there would have been plenty of room for 2 couples and even more. We felt very safe and comfortable in this home :)

A cure updated house that still has charm
The house has been very nicely updated with great furnishings, comfortable beds and good showers. It is a great place for a couple of friend or a family to stay. The downside is there is no master and the second bathroom is is off this strange laundry/bedroom.
