We left after three days ☹️.
Very disappointed, especially for the money we paid. The front entrance smelled of urine, inside smelled musty, the AC could not cool the upstairs to a comfortable temperature and the house was infested with ants. The house is seriously dated, freezer door was frozen shut, bathroom door wouldn’t lock and worst of all there was black mold in the lower level and AC ducts that was bothering several of us so we left after three nights.
Very disappointed in rental and apparent stonewalling by owner

House was huge - larger than listed, with six bedrooms as well as two pullout couches. Master bedroom was massive, with a full size sectional that pulled out into a bed. Large jet tub in one of the other bathrooms Spectacular views of the water out the front and back, with nice yard space out back. Fire pit came with wood but it was too wet during our stay to use. Only issues with our stay were that the binder was missing with information on the house. Owner was fairly responsive by text to questions. Other issue was ants in the kitchen, which the owner said happens when it rains a lot. We were able to find ant traps under the kitchen sink and that took care of the problem.

My sister and I took our families and our Mom to Chincoteague for the week and this place worked out perfectly. Six kids under 7 loved running around the spacious main level and when it came time for sleeping, we were able to keep them on opposites of the house. The kayaks, dock, and bikes all seem to be in good shape and area great additions to the indoor space. The neighborhood is quiet, and still just a short drive to everything on the island.

Loved the location! Such a great neighborhood with water access in the front and back of the home.

Location was perfect. Large house with plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and common space. Lots to do around the area. Property has nice water access with 2 small docks. House was in pretty fair condition. Could use some new carpets, doors, door handles (at least two of them got stuck and were difficult to open). Kitchen is very well stocked with pots/pans and good space to work. Kayaks, paddle board, and bikes were a great addition to the stay.

We have stayed at this house multiple times. It is a great house, very large. Enjoyed the holiday weekend here.

Our group of four families (7 adults and 4 young children) had a perfect vacation at Waters Edge. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, but mere minutes away from shopping, restaurants, and activities for all ages including Assateague Beach and Assateague Island National Seashore. The house was well-stocked with games, kitchenware, and everything we needed for a comfortable multi-family stay.
There was a snafu during the check-in process due to a communication error between the VRBO booking, host, and cleaning crew, which resulted in a late check-in, but the host was incredibly responsive and pulled out all the stops to remedy the situation as quickly as possible and for that we were extremely appreciative. Will stay at Water's Edge again! Thank you!!

Although the beach house is a bit shopworn it was perfect for our group of 11 people consisting of 6 adults and 5 children ranging in age from 3 to 14. The house is large with plenty of room to spread out. We especially enjoyed the huge screened in porch where there was more than enough room to enjoy communal meals and just hang out as a group. We took advantage of the house's kayaks, bikes, fire pit and outdoor gas grill and just had a great time.

Excellent location with easy access by kayak to Oyster Bay. Quiet area. Large house. Plenty of linens and towels. Great setup but needs some maintenance. One bedroom only had a twin mattress on the floor. Two old sofas needed deep cleanings and the master bedroom smelled like mildew (sofas covered vents). Several of the adult bikes weren't in usable condition. The regular gas grill was in rough shape.

We just returned from a stay here. The home was clean, comfortable and more than spacious. There are some needed updates but that did not deter from our enjoyment of this home. Favorite places within the residence were the large, enclosed back porch and the backyard inlet. If we return to the island, we would definitely consider returning here.

We were astounded to find this rental property within our price range -and doubly stunned when we arrived! It's a spacious layout, plenty of room for folks to gather in small groups or find a quiet corner to read and reflect. Multiple porches give gorgeous views of the inlet and wildlife passing through. We heard loons at night and saw deer roaming in the morning! Our preference is to visit the beaches on the off-season and this was the ideal location for a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but still had plenty of amenities and local stores to help supplement anything we forgot to pack. Don't pass by this place! Even during a day of torrential rain, it was snug and cozy, with ample appliances to wash muddy clothes or handle extra dishes.

This is a wonderful house. Our favorite is probably the screened in porch. We had guests for dinner, for a total of 18 people, and we had room on the porch to eat together. In addition, there are 2 dining room tables inside, with 2 living rooms. There is an office area that I used to scrapbook during my stay. The master bedroom is very large, with lots of closet space, and a very large master bath. We had some issues with checking in late, due to the cleaning staff being delayed, but Rodney offered to treat us to ice cream for our inconvenience. The house is off a canal system, and there are kayaks, etc to use. It's a beautiful view, and not too far from town. Very roomy house that fit all 12 of us very easily.

Plenty of room for a big family.
Check-in was a bit of hassle because we had to wait for the last guests and cleaners to leave. Rodney was nice and offered to pay for us to go out to eat but I'm still waiting reimbursement two weeks later. The house was a bit dated but it had everything we needed plus extra bikes, boats and beach toys for the kids. The screened in porch was repaired while we were there and it looked great and was very comfortable.

Spacious house
This house had plenty of seating and separate rooms to sit in. The bedrooms were great and a nice number of bathrooms. I particularly liked that they had some kind of fan in each room and a lot of night lights in bedrooms and bathrooms. The outdoor water equipment was great and so convenient to use.
We took pictures on the stairs leading up to the house which was great. Our 30th year in Chincoteague...great memories!!

Could be an amazing property with updates. Great location with lots of amenities. Host was great.

A beautiful, well taken care of home.
You can tell the homeowner cares about the comfort of those staying there. The Master Bedroom has been updated from the pictures on the website. There was 11 of us and we all had beds to sleep in. Games and books filled the shelves in the living room. We were in need of nothing in the kitchen. Outside “water” toys were also available (although we hit a period of bad weather). An absolute wonderful home to stay at

Great family stay
As noted in the listing, this property is a bit dated and in process of redecorating, but it was so roomy and just right for our family. Everyone enjoyed the extra space, the enclosed porch and lovely location! Many thanks to the owners!

Location of this house is perfect for family gatherings on the water. No need to bring anything. Kitchen fully equipped all the way down to having water and bikes. Great for young children and plenty of room to spread out in the house. Will return without a doubt!

A great getaway for the week!
Everyone in our group enjoyed the property and the roominess it provided. Plenty of bathrooms to share and more than one community area where we could gather to play games, talk, eat, etc. Property is in a nice setting, with nice views from both front and back. Kayaks and row boat was also a hit. Wish the paddle boat wasn't broken and a few of the outdoor chairs were showing age and cracked but all in all it was a great place to stay for our vacation and the grill and campfire space were a bonus.

2021 Vacation
This house was very roomy and fantastic for a large group like ours. There are boats and a dock that my kids used. The house is older as far as the furnishings-really like something from the 80's however it was clean-that's one of the biggest plusses. The only drawback was the the septic system. Apparently there had been rain before our trip and some during our trip. The sewage smell in the house was really bad for a couple of days. The owner stated that is was supposed to be cleaned out during our stay, but that didn't happen. I will say the owner was very prompt in responding to my emails.

Great place for a family group
This is a great house for a family vacation. There is plenty of space to spread out and nice big rooms to be together. It was perfect for our six adults and five teens.. Attractive, but not so fru-fru you had to be worried about damaging the decor. All of the amenities were good quality…sheets, towels, appliances, bathrooms, mattresses, etc. and if you like to cook, you will find eveything you need. The location is very convenient, but in a very quiet neighborhood.

Great place to stay
Enjoyed a great week at Waters Edge. Lots of room for all 11 of us - families from Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and New York. Had a fun time kayaking, biking, spending time at the beach, mini golfing and checking out the local shops. And Capt Dan’s pontoon boat ride around Chincoteague and Assateague was the best! We saw ponies and dolphins up close! The newly added tandem bike was a hit with the granddaughters. Great place to stay!

Another wonderful vacation in Chincoteague
This is a wonderful, large home on a canal. House is very spacious with 5+ bedrooms, several bathrooms, several tables/places to eat at (kitchen table, dining room table), screened in porch has a bar and dining tables where we ate most of our meals together. We used the Kayaks and boats in the water every afternoon. Will be staying here again next year.

Great family get away!
The perfect place to rest, relax, play and enjoy nature. The house is great for families or a group to gather. Has all you could want in the way of entertainment inside and out. Well equipped kitchen, beautiful bedrooms, and really comfortable furniture. All around a really nice place to vacation.

Great property with beautiful views around. Lots of things to do. Rodney left kayaks and bikes to use, which was nice. Be advised that mosquitoes are pretty bad around wetlands, so make sure to use a repellent

Long Weekend for 3 Families
We really enjoyed an extended weekend with family and friends. One family brought their boat and it was very convenient to tie it up on the floating dock but you need to be careful boating in Oyster Bay, very shallow in some spots. The owner was very responsive to our questions. The house was perfect for our crew and the kayaks, paddle boat and bikes were put to good use. The house is very eclectic and decor fairly dated but it was clean and just what we needed. The large screen porch facing the canal was a great hangout and overall we had a great time and may try to go back there again.

Great Place for a Family Vacation
Overall this was a wonderful place for our family vacation! Located in a quiet and safe neighborhood, the home is spacious and comfortable. We appreciated the well supplied kitchen, the quality linens, and the many towels.
Our family has great memories of biking to Assateague and seeing the ponies, and kayaking from the house to the bay. We especially enjoyed our campfire on Assateague beach using the firepit Rodney permitted us to take from the house for the evening!
Rodney is an excellent host! He kindly responded to questions and when the air conditioner had a problem, he sent repairmen immediately.

Great views and location...
The property is in the best location if you want water at your finger tips. The views and access are just not something you can beat. The house is definitely dated and going through some repairs but the main things like appliances (fridge, stove, dishwasher) are all newly updated. When we were there the screened in porch had some rather large holes that didn't really provide for the intended purpose. But it also rained most of our stay, so bugs weren't an issue either. Ha! Despite the rain, it was still a really fun experience.

Great Stay
House is large, clean, and comfortable. Loved having kayaks, peddle boat, and bikes. Lots of board games for rainy days. Kitchen has everything needed to cook with. The two main strips of stores and restaurants are just a short drive away. Hopefully, we have the chance to come to Chincoteague again and we can stay here. Maybe bring another family with us because there is more than enough room to spread out.
