About this villa rental
Ground floor: 1 double bedroom with en-suite; living room, dining room , w.c./shower room; well equipped kitchen, utility room with washing machine and dishwasher. Each main room has direct access to the wrap around terrace. The rear terrace has al fresco dining area and and BBQ. There is also a chill out sitting area. The pool area is just beyond and is a real sun trap! The pool is 3.5m x 7m and 1.75m deep at the deep end and 1.15m at the shallow end. For their safety, the area is gated so that young children do not have access without the knowledge of adults.
Upstairs, there is another double bedroom with en-suite, a family bathroom and a twin/double bedroom. on the landing, we have a book case full of books for "book swap". Guests are welcome to take any book from here and swap it for their own. The upstairs bedrooms have direct access to the balcony with views across Portimão. It's a lovely area for a quick sundowner in the evening.
In the living room, we have a TV set up for Netflix etc. We have a printer in the dining room. Please free to use.

Property was nice. the hot water took a while to come out. The property manager was excellent and very accommodating with our schedule. There was no soap to shower. I find that the cleaning fee was a bit excessive considering there were dead spiders and bugs in the house.

Nice location. Great house. Everything we wanted for our four night stay. We had a car so we were able to travel the coast at our leisure.

Really enjoyed staying here - visited Lagos, Ferragudo and plenty of beaches via short drives. Quiet residential area. Tiny niggles: Quite a lot of half - used condiments in kitchen which might not suit everyone; hot water a bit temperamental in bathrooms, and no obvious lights by pool. That apart, great stay and Areke the local meeter and greeter super helpful. Would stay again!

Wonderful property to stay at, and this is the second summer in a row we've stayed a week. As described it's around a 10-15 mins drive to Alvor and the bigger supermarkets like Continente.
There's a couple of local smaller shops nearby, as well as a couple of restaurants like Fonte de Pedra which we'd tried twice and enjoyed. No shortage of good restaurants in Alvor though
Spacious bedrooms and living areas, all nicely decorated, and the outside areas are well maintaned and private. Very little noise from the surrounding houses/pools too. Great design too around the outside area below the pool which is well shaded with a gas BBQ, an outside dining table for 6, and also a nice corner area with a couple of rattan couches and tables
Nicely sized pool, and plenty of space and sunloungers etc. The upstairs balcony is huge too, and a nice area to sit out during the day/evenings

We booked this property to be close to the Autodromo do Algarve for the MotoGP - it was 10 minutes away so perfect on that front. Groceries were a bit more of a trek, we had to go into Portimao for anything other than a corner store experience. The property itself had several outdoor areas to enjoy the shade or sun. Bedrooms were all well-appointed. It was a great spot and would be very economical for a family or group.

The villa was superb, we had a lovely time staying there for the 10 days. The property manager was very nice and helpful and settled us in straight away. We highly recommended this as a place to enjoy a lovely relaxing holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay, the villa is lovely so well appointed! Areke the manager was really helpful too. Only downside you are a little out of the way, but that is a minor thing and we would definitely go back!

Superb
My 5 children and I had a lovely stay at this Villa. The pool and outdoor area were the main attraction. Also enjoyed the lovely white sofa to relax! Jayne was super welcoming - thank you!

A very contented stay and more!
We are 2 couples in our 70’s who had a 10-day stay in this lovely spacious villa in a residential area in the countryside. We found it to be exactly as described and we weren’t disappointed. The villa was clean and had the creature comforts of home. It was well-equipped and certainly catered to serve families. The TV had the basic channels and Netflix but no Sky. We had wall-to-wall sun the duration of our stay and there were ample outdoor seating areas in sun or shade. The swimming pool wasn’t large but it was adequate for us.
A car is a must if you want to get about, as the villa is approximately 10 mins by car from Alvor/ supermarkets. There is, however, a small local store where you can get a limited choice of essential items.
When we arrived at the villa we were met by Jayne, the very pleasant housekeeper, who presented us with some basic groceries, which were adequate until we were able to get to the supermarket the following day. Jayne also gave us tips on places to visit, and on the restaurants, etc in the local area, but more importantly fulfilled our request for a teapot! Nothing was too much trouble.
Would we revisit? Absolutely!

More home than holiday villa.
We found the villa very homely with lovely furnishings and fittings, loads of welcome air con and a vast amount of space both inside and out. The areas outside are vast, and on two levels and give the advantage of always being able to find (or not find) sun or shade at any time.
The location is interesting in that it’s in a development but in the middle of the countryside, about ten minutes by car from Alvor and Portimao and the shops and restaurants and beaches that are there. We did a skydive in Portimao which was great and the beach in Alvor is beautiful.
We found that while our villa was beautifully maintained and state of the art, there were areas of the estate that needed work.
The lady, Jayne, the liaison person, was helpful and kind and patient and went to no ends to recommend things to do and places to see and restaurants to try.
Overall we were very happy with our choice.
As an aside, do try Farelo restaurant five minutes away.

Fantastic stay in fantastic villa
We had a brilliant time at the villa, the pool is a perfect size for small children with a lockable gate for piece of mind. The villa is really clean and has everything you need for a perfect family stay. Alvor is only a short drive away and has a real buzz about it whilst maintaining its charm. Jayne who met us on arrival was really helpful and very knowledgeable! The perfect holiday thanks!

Holiday with grandchildren
We've just returned from a week at this villa which we chose mainly because the pool area could be secured - our party included a 3 year old and a 1 year old. The pool was a great hit - the grandchildren loved it, and the adults could enjoy peace of mind when we were not swimming. The villa is spacious and comfortable, and it was so nice to be in a personalised home rather than simply a holiday let property.

Stayed here August 2018 for a week. Wish we had longer, we drove from Lisbon where we had spent a week sightseeing so this was a welcome reprieve from the hussle and bussle of Lisbon. It was a great place to stay, the villa is beautiful and furnished really well. There were 4 of us, 2 adults and two kids (12/14). It worked perfectly for us. The pool is not huge but its great for cooling off and having a play in. Kids loved it. The immediate area is nice and quiet. Large supermarket in Lagos and a supermarket in Alvor. Cant say much about the area in general as we didnt venture out too much but there is loads to do if you want to. Preferred Lagos as a town to Alvor but thats just personal preference. Great scuba diving school in Lagos, my daughter did her qualification there this year. Weve been close to this area before and love it. If youre thinking of booking this villa just do it, you wont be disappointed. I loved the feel of the villa and I definitely want to go back! The lady that met us (Jayne) was very helpful and we could contact her anytime with queries. Welcome pack was great as we were starving so was good to eat before heading to the supermarket to stock up.

Calm, beautiful villa.

Perfect villa and pool in a quiet area. Very enjoyable stay!
There were 3 adults and 2 children in our party and the villa was ideal. The pool was a perfect haven for us all and was always warm. The villa was very clean and a welcome pack was available upon arrival which was a great help as we arrived late. Jayne met us there, even though it was late, and showed us around the villa and gave us ideas of where to visit etc. Lagos was a great day out as was Zoomarine, all within half hour drive of the villa. A car is a must as it’s too far to walk to anywhere especially if it’s hot! We love this area of Portugal and when we visit again I’m sure it will be to this villa!

Fabulous
Maggie, We have recently returned from your lovely villa and wanted to express how relaxing we found our stay - perfect for the family and with such a homely feel it really felt as a home from home with none of the austere & stark furnishing of other properties. And what a great location, quiet and beautiful but easy striking distance of Alvor and Portmio. The pool was a godsend with a 3,10 and 12 yr old. We will be back as soon as we can......

Lovely villa very spacious
The villa is large and well equipped. Lots of different areas to sit in sun or shade. The pool is great and has sun all day. Would recommend the area as lots to see and do.

Wonderful villa, very friendly host
The villa is absolutely wonderful, very spacious, clean and in a lovely location, rural but within touching distance of the towns of Portimao and Alvor. There were only three of us, myself my partner and our 4 year old and we had so much fun exploring and playing in the pool.

Absolute Perfection!!

What a great choice we made! The villa is perfect and has everything you need to have a perfect and relaxing break. It is peaceful and quiet, with stunning views and sunsets.
We had 4 generations of our family staying in Alvor , the villa we found to be a perfect distance away giving everyone (80+ years down to 1year old) their own space and tranquillity. But also equipped to cater for everyone's needs. We had amazing family time, having a few BBQs. We also walked to a couple of local restaurants O Tascos and Fonte de Pedra, both of which were fabulous, and not too far away.
Jayne and Terry who look after the property, are fabulous and super helpful- keeping our bedding and towels fresh. Also having plenty of advice, tips and local knowledge of the area.
Having stayed in the centre of Alvor 20+ times as a family we all agree that the villa at Monte Canelas gave us the most perfect base, away from the village noise and bustle. But also near enough to get to the bars, restaurants and beach, that we all love so much.
The new crazy golf in Alvor was plenty of fun too. Thanks to everyone that helped make Portugal 2017 such a totally perfect holiday.

very clean a well suited for the six of us in a good position away from the crowds of the Alarve
Six of us very comfortable here good space for everyone. Plenty of room by the pool which was large enough to cool down. Plenty of parking if needed. We eat out a lot so did not use BBQ area much but the seating and equipment looked very tired. Overall very pleased with the reception and value we had.

Perfect for chillaxing and a great holiday base
Clean, modern, nice garden. When it's hot you can use the pool, and there are plenty of shaded areas. Local beaches within a short drive. The winery down the road is worth a visit to pick up some decent wines. Hosts are fantastic with all the information you need for a fantastic holiday.

Fantastic Family Villa
A wonderful villa that is large enough for several families to holiday together. There is a private swimming pool (with a shallow end for children) and plenty of space for lounging and dining both inside and out. there is also a BBQ on a covered patio which is ideal for lunches and suppers and with the sea only minutes away by car and some good local restaurants you have everything you need for a lovely holiday! Can't wait to go back!

I stayed here with some friends and absolutely loved it!!
The villa is great, really spacious and well furnished, great sized indoor and outdoor dining areas as well as a private pool and sun terrace.
Just a short drive from the supermarkets and gorgeous beaches.

Lovely, homely villa
Lovely villa which is beautifully furnished, with a lovely pool, great views and Netflix for when you want to stay in! Beautiful beaches are only a ten or twenty minute drive away, and the supermarket is even closer. Quiet location, need a car.

Fantastic for families
This villa is great for families - we stayed here with our teenage kids and there was plenty of space around the villa and pool area. Excellent outside spaces for dinners and bbqs. Really helpful having wifi as well for the kids. Good location and close to a lot of good restaurants and beaches. Will definitely be going back.

Heaven on the hill
This is a great villa with hugely accommodating owners who have an excellent team on hand to welcome you, make great restaurant suggestions and also for gardening and pool duties. The BBQ and pool area is great and got lots of use in the evenings. My favourite spot in the whole place was the upstairs terrace, it had breath taking views over the valley (an amazing place for sundowners).
Alvor is a charming place with many fantastic restaurants with great views over the sea and pure white beaches. It is fair to say we loved it and we will be back next year!

Beautiful villa, perfectly located
We had a lovely week at the villa - perfect weather, beautiful villa and good location. We rented a car and visited lots of different beaches and restaurants in the area which was really fun and kept everyone entertained - ideal for a group of friends or a family. I cant recommend it enough.

Lovely
Stayed at the villa for a week with friends. It had everything we needed and more. Ideal location for exploring and restaurants close by in a car. If we decide to do this holiday again we would definitely book this villa. Jane the manager and Maggie the owner could not be praised enough.Highly recommend it.

Well Equipped Friendly Spacious Villa
This villa shows why rental properties that the owners holiday in are far better than rental properties operated purely for rental (last year - yuch!) . This villa has a lovely pool , wifi, smart TV with Netflix, jacuzzi bath etc and is well serviced by gardeners and pool guys and the ever helpful Jaybe and hubby Terry who offer a great service. Great running walking routes in hills behind., 20 mins from beaches and some nice local restaurants.
