Only has a window ac in one room and a floor ac in master. Never did get quite cool enough even with the fans. Yes the mountains are normally cooler but going in July we were shocked to see this. We endured and it was not half bad. The house is nice but it does lean like one other review mentioned. Some of the roads to get to it were rough on my car.
But they did say to have a AWD.

We really enjoyed the remote nature of the cabin! We even had a bear sighting on the gravel road in front of the cabin while we had coffee on the porch. 4 wheel drive is a must, and if you follow the directions provided (do not rely on Google Maps), accessing the cabin is quick and easy. Just a note, there is one part of the road which can be confused for a driveway at the top of a hill, but the road does continue downhill between two houses. We learned our lesson after missing it the first time. The outdoor seating and spaces are peaceful and private. It is a quick drive to the Cherokee reservation and the Soco Waterfall.

Property is well maintained and in a secluded location. Not very far from the main US 19 highway but the access road is tricky and definitely advice a AWD or 4WD.
Also saw a Black bear visit close to the cabin which added to the experience.

I enjoyed the stay. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars. The view was beautiful. Loved how peaceful it was being there. Thank you so much for the stay

This cabin has a great view from the porch. Swing and rocking chairs. Really need to have AWD or 4WD. Beds were very comfortable.

Our first time going to NC, found this place in VRBO. To get phone reception is very hard around that whole area, our check in was @ 4pm we got there past 7pm since the roads are very dark and signs are very small some hard to read. Once we got to the cabin, it was very cozy and the area was so peaceful.
Would definitely stay there again.

We loved the location and cabin was nice other than it really leaned in one direction.
There has to be some foundation issues that you can't see because the front foundation is covered up.

It was definitely remote. Although they need to replace the mattresses, very uncomfortable. Other than that it was good.

Pete was amazing and answered all our questions in a timely manner. Very accommodating. We weather winter storm Elliot there and saw temps -3 degrees. Never lost power. Heat worked great in the cabin. Our family unplugged and enjoyed being together. Our kids enjoyed the fire pit and made s’mores. Definitely recommend a 4WD vehicle to navigate the drive in and out from the cabin due to snow and ice we had. We will be looking forward to our next family adventure!

Pros: Awesome long range Mountain View
Good kitchen and dining area
Cons: Fountain needs to be leveled, half the house is sloping and is very noticeable inside the home
Swing has several cracks, our family would not sit on it
Picnic table had been painted and is now severely peeling and dirty
Extremely slow internet service

We had a great time at the location. Kids enjoyed it and we enjoyed the time to disconnect for life for a week. Definitely not a location for small cars or Motorcycles. Suvs or 4x4 highly recommend. Beautiful area.

Was quiet and peaceful
Was a great stay, but there were a few things I didn't know. The outside lights at the campfire didn't work. U had a window ac unit that was off so it was really hot when we first arrived. We lost power like 3 times the 2nd morning we were there. The shower in the guest bathroom kept stopping up and the toilet in the main room. The swing had a split up it and was scared to sit on it. The house was very nice and was plenty if towels and cookware. Was a great place to stay.

Hidden Cabin Stay
Pleasant stay with friendly management. However it should be noted that there were a couple of inconveniences. Some minor repairs are needed including fixing the fireplace, which was not working. The toaster oven was also not working and the drain in the guest bathroom was slow.

Beautiful view
Very clean, cozy cabin that made us feel right at home. The view was beautiful and there is plenty of room to set outside on the deck. The host was very helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. The cell phone service is not good but it is in the mountains and to be expected. I would recommend a 4wd or an AWD vehicle because I have a Toyota Corolla and had trouble trying to get back out of the road the same way I came in but there is another way out ( to the left out of the driveway) and we managed fine after we figured out to go in one way and out the other but if it was raining or snowing my car would not have made it on the roads. The room is stocked with plenty of dishes, towels and toilet paper. Overall we had a great stay and would stay again!

Mountain getaway
Remote and secluded getaway into the mountains of Maggie valley. Everything was clean and organized. The road access to the cabin was a little bumpy but we noticed the crew was conditioning the roads several times during our stay. Great location to view the changing of the leaves. It was very relaxing and we would go back. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin. DK

Great stay but limited wifi.
We had a great time over here. But might be due to location or something it became a problem for use with limited wifi as we (group of 7) were doing wfh for one day. Other than wifi everything is good.

The property was nice
Check in was easy. You have to have a guide to the place or you will get lost. It should have been told to us beforehand that you need a 4x4 drive vehicle. The road is steep and very bad when it rained.

Adventurous and exciting!!!
We’re a family from Miami FL the first day we got to Rocha’s we had quite the thrilling adventure getting to the cabin. But thanks to Peter he helped us all the way. We appreciate all the patience they had with us. I recommend the cabin if you want to enjoy nature and disconnect from the world.

Cabin
The cabin was great. Roads were iffy in some places when it rained. Overall gave us a secluded feel without being too far from conveniences.

Cons:1) neighbors - we had no idea this cabin was in a neighborhood! The neighbors (no where in sight) complained to owners, even came to the cabin and confronted us, and they even were yelling at us from somewhere above us, about noise levels during the day and on Saturday evening. Description says “secluded”, it is NOT! Neighbors really ruined our stay with their rudeness, yelling at us all day & evening to be quiet and shut up from somewhere above us through the trees. 2) yard - no space to play except small area around fire pit or on the deck3) gravel/dirt path to house, wouldn’t consider it a road, rough going for AWD vehicles, very bumpy, lots of loose gravel4) fire wood was too expensive from owners, we saw bundles for sale in Cherokee and surrounding area for significantly less! 5) if WiFi is important, it was very spottyPros:1) deck & views - beautiful view from the deck 2) house - very clean3) lots of space indoors for us to eat and hang out since we couldn’t be outdoors without the neighbors yelling and complaining. 4) very close to Soco Falls, Observation tower, and Blue Ridge Parkway

Post COVID Vacation 2021
Place was awesome. Very secluded. Had everything we needed plus! In listing need to change to one queen and two double beds. Was not a problem for us but might be for some. Neighbor was less than nice, but manager handled it for us wonderfully

Maggie Valley Rental
They required an escort to the property, but this did not go smoothly. I tried to call when we were about an hour out and one phone number went straight to a full voice mail and I got no answer at the other phone number. I also sent a text but didn't get a response until we were already at the property. Luckily we were able to find the property using GPS, but I do feel that they could and should provide directions and check in instructions that don't require an escort. An escort would have been nice but there needs to be a backup in case that doesn't go smoothly. Aside from that we enjoyed our stay. It was close to some beautiful hikes and the home has a great deck to enjoy the sunset. There were some foundation issues with the home as half of the house was clearly leaning. However, the rental price was fair and well below any other options that were big enough for 7 people. In the rental description they do recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to access the property and I would never try this drive again without one!

The view was spectacular, the cabin cozy, and the owners incredibly sweet. We were there to have a covid safe birthday celebration for our son and he has stated it was without a doubt his best birthday ever ☺️ Kids loved it, dogs loved it, parents loved it. Thank you so much for a perfect vacation!!

An Amazing Get-A-Way
A secluded house in the middle of the beautiful mountains of WNC with an amazing westerly facing view. The house was fully stocked, better than any other rental we've rented, and the hosts were quick to respond and very accommodating. We were completely satisfied and truly enjoyed our stay.
