About this house rental

Nothing has these views or access to the river! Superb! Over one acre where you can access the river if you are physically capable to go down the short embankment (where you may get muddy or wet). Ask about canoe and tubing rentals. Fisherman love this spot of the river as well. Secluded 3/2 Cabin with incredible river views from almost every room! The home sits high on an acre lot close to the end of the road. Private master suite with balcony. Open floor plan with a kitchen island and step down living room. Washer and dryer provided. Only a mile from downtown Bastrop or cross the river! Great small, quite space for a special meeting or retreat. Family and pet friendly. The river side has a fenced in area for pets or children to play.
Recently upgraded to Sleep Number beds in the master and one of the secondary bedrooms. In addition to the twin beds in the secondary bedroom, additional twin beds are available.

Would have liked to have wash cloths. Keep washing machine drum door open to dry out so you don’t get mold. Overall, accommodation was sufficient for need.

We absolutely enjoyed our month-long stay here. Stunning river view, and the river was easily accessible. Strong wifi allowed me to run my home office set up, while husband streamed movies. The host was super responsive, and went above and beyond. And, we enjoyed watching the deer in the mornings and evenings. Top notch, first rate experience. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time. The house is set up perfectly for families and even pets. House eas clean and organized. Sonya is a great host. She took the time to communicate with us before our stay. Super helpful information about the house and the Bastrop area was provided. We were even allowed to check in a little early. Hope to stay here again and would definitely recommend to anyone.

The location was great due to being isolated, quiet and peaceful with a great view. Seeing the deer in the mornings travel between properties was also a plus.

Our crew had a great time relaxing at this lovely cabin on the river. We brought my 14 year old daughter and her friends for a birthday celebration. Everyone had a great time checking out the wildlife (we saw a beautiful owl!), enjoying s'mores around the firepit, and exploring the shops on Main St. in Bastrop. Sonya was a great host and checked in with us prior to our visit to ensure everything was setup to our liking. Check-in and check-out was a breeze! Would definitely recommend this great gem to folks looking for a place to relax and unwind.

We loved our stay here. We had everything we needed at this little gem on the river. Unfortunately the recent rains kept us from kayaking and fishing like we had wanted, but we will likely be back to visit again and give it another shot. The beds were comfortable. We ate out some and cooked some. The location and amenities served both well. The back yard has excellent shade and the fenced in area is great if you had little ones or pets. We did not this time. We also enjoyed sitting out on the back patio at night. Until we needed the store or a restaurant we forgot how close to town we were, it was very quiet. We had such a great time hanging out here after the Mud Girl Races.

Excellent house on the river, with a nice fire pit areas and plenty of river views to watch the kayakers and boats go by. Was a nice place to stay while attending Sherwood. Thank you to our host Sonja who made every step easy!

We absolutely LOVED the view on this property. It is a older home but that is what creates the character of the place! The fire pit at night was a lovely treat and being able to relax without all the city noise! We would definitely stay again!

We were in town for a triathlon and needed a place to stay with family. This was a great secluded place right on the Colorado River. Very peaceful and plenty of space for family of 8.

We had an amazing stay to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday! Seven family members from age 6-70 (plus two dogs!) stayed at the cabin. We were comfortable and everyone had fun. River access was easy - we brought two kayaks and enjoyed paddling. We all would stay again!

Wonderful place for a family getaway!! It is an old home/cabin with wooden floors and a beautiful view! The sleep number beds are very comfortable after a day of fishing and swimming!! There is plenty of yard to play in. You are right by the river with beautiful trees... so there always is going to be poison ivy... but it is easy to spot and avoid to still have fun by the river. The host was very kind and responsive. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back!!!!

The home was very roomy and the kitchen had everything we needed. The backyard and the river was very peaceful and relaxing. I’ll never get over those beautiful trees. The board games and decks of cards were put to good use. The food stores were conveniently close by. There was an issue with bugs in the home, but a can of Raid took care of that. And you’ll need some patience when using the washer and dryer. But overall, we had a good time by the river.

Cons: Not what we expected. Terrifying experience if you have a phobia for roaches. They came from under the floors and crown molding. They were everywhere. We had to buy poison. Families with Small kids beware, there's poison ivy all over the property. Fridge wasn't working properly. AC window unit in master was very loud right next to the bed. Over all cleanliness of the house is not up to par. Not the best place for fishing with all the overgrown vegetation on the river access. Pros. Dog friendly. Big fenced in yard, easy access to the river. Large property with lots of shade. Property owner very responsive. Great place for kayaking

Overall we really enjoyed ourselves staying here. We were hoping to get on the river but it is more about the view than actual swimming. But there is so much to do in the area. We went to Bastrop Lake to canoe/paddleboard. We went tubing down San Marcos River. It was nice to come back to the cabin with it's AC & comfy beds. Great backyard for the dogs and we enjoyed the firepit once the hot sun went down. The host was super helpful and conscientious.

This is an older house with lots of charm. It was very hot in Bastrop, especially in the afternoons, but Sonya had warned us to keep the drapes closed. We were gone during the day, so it didn't bother us. It was very pleasant at night.

Great family vacation!

This is a very comfortable and fun house for a family vacation! It’s right on the river. It has a fenced in yard which was perfect for the dogs. It’s so nice to be able to bring them along and not worry about keeping them on a leash. The house and property are exactly as pictured. There is a TV, books and games, and a lot of extras. The outdoor table, chairs, and fire pit were great and well used. We had a wonderful time and are hoping to be able to stay again.

The house is remote but not hard to find. It was in a perfect secluded location with so many birds to see, even a deer! came by. View from the main room is amazing!Great home when all you need for some R & R. Also close to a wonderful town full of history and great food. Don't miss to try their local restaurants. Only 30mn from Austin! We really enjoyed our stay our stay and the host was very pleasant.

This charming riverfront property was the perfect solution for visiting family and friends who attended our daughter’s graduation from UT. It was minutes from our home in Bastrop , so very convenient! Sonya was gracious and attentive as a host - she contacted me several days before the weekend to go over details and ensure all was in place for a perfect weekend. We only wish we’d had more time to spend at the cabin - our weekend was very full. Highly recommend this property, and hope to have an opportunity to revisit in the future!

Sonya was a great host she communicated directly days prior to my arrival .Everything was great she provided all the essentials plus more.We had an awesome time.Plenty of room ,beds were extra comfy ,safe with a large fenced yard for my dog.We felt far away but we were close to everything.If you want to enjoy some R & R give this place a try.I wish I coukd have stayed a little longer Thanks again.😊
