Courteous staff. Rural charm.
4.3
Simple, reasonable and cost effective
The shower unit needs fixing as does the closing of the bathroom door

No breakfast but Hook Norton Brewery offer a discount for breakfasts in their restaurant if touring the brewery. No evening meals, but these are available at the other pub in the village a short walk away. They are honest in so far as he walls are thin so noise from the bar does filter up to the room.

Really nice and cozy place!!!
Great local beer at the bar!!!
4.3
Great place to stay and defo come back again
Nothing
4.3
fantastic room for two adults and one child, lots of space, and quiet even though I was expecting a little bit more noisy been above the pub.
breakfast available in nearby cafe, which was great too!
4.3
Great parking, spacious room with really comfortable beds and lovely extras.
Shame no food was being serviced but The Sun Inn up the road provided us with a lovely evening meal but would of like breakfast.
4.3
Everything. Room size. Comfy beds. Tea, coffee ect. 2x televisions.
The shower was very temperamental. Slight tap for hot or cold but went freezing to scolding. The lady said she'd get the shower looked at when I told her about it when we left. Lovely staff.

We booked two rooms. Outstanding cleanliness, linens and towels new and fresh.
New carpets too. Lovely newly painted decor. Bathrooms were new too.
We didn’t dislike anything.
However a mirror near a plug for hair drying, a box of tissues and hooks in the bathroom for towels, would have been appreciated.
Very steep stairs up to the rooms, it was fine for us, but not suitable for some people.

Breakfast at the Malthouse kitchen was amazing.

The room we had number 3, was very comfortable and we loved the style and decoration!
The stairs to the room

The room was spacious and comfortable.
Didn’t really see many staff no one there when we left. There was a pub quiz on in the evening and the person running it was very loud and on occasion rude to customers. We we’re only there for the one night.
We did have a problem with the shower as the drain was blocked but did ring after we’d left for them to attend to it.

Love this place 💖

The bottle of beer in the room was a nice touch
No food available at any time of day and no warning in advance.

Clean comfortable room spacious and lovely decor very comfy bed and spotless ensuite,
Being kept awake till 2am and not told about a lock in
4.3
Location & beer
The booking confirmation suggested there was a 10% discount off breakfast and meals at the Malthouse Kitchen (at the brewery), as the Pear Tree doesn't serve breakfast. Malthouse knew nothing of this, but honoured it. Beware

Friendly and breakfast amazing at brewery
All good and will return:)

The room was very roomy & very clean. Team were very friendly. Nice little pub
Had to ask for the bed settee to be made up -as booked as a twin room- given sheets etc. Had to ask for towels. Only 1 cup in the room had to ask for another as 2 of us staying. Plenty of tea/coffee/sugar but not restocked with milk or clean cups on 2nd day of stay. Bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut, had to wedge it
4.3
Great size room and king size bed, overlooking beer garden. Clean and well presented. Bathroom was clean and well stocked.
They don't provide breakfast but we walked 5 minutes down the lane to Hook Norton brewery and had a lovely breakfast.
4.3
We felt so welcome and at home - fell in love with it over the few nights we stayed. absolutely picturesque setting, gorgeous staff and management, great beer - the brewery just an amble away down the prettiest lane you’ve seen. Cuddled up to a Clydesdale, explored the Cottswolds, coming home to a cold beer and friendly faces.
Has a narrow staircase up to rooms so not ideal for those less mobile.

the pear inn is located in this sweet little town. its got tons of charm. And a lovely garden.
the bed and pillow were very comfy.
the bedroom was equipped with everything you could need.
the entrance for the pub to the rooms and stairs was a bit scruffy. could have been a bit more in sync with the lovely room and front of the building.
it was a bit noisy around 11pm. someone was playing very loud music at the back and couldn't figure out who. very strange as it was very quiet all around.
the staff didn't explain anything about the checkout process. when we woke up, there was nobody in the place and we just left our keys in the bar and locked the door behind us. a quick explanation the night before would have helped settle our minds.

Enjoyed our whole stay 2 nights in this charming Inn. We had a lovely room. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast can be had at the Malthouse Kitchen a short walk from the Inn, next to the Hook Norton Brewery.
We spent a pleasant evening chatting to the Inn's regulars.
Parking was good, right next to the Inn.
Directions given by Booking.com using the link on the site to Google maps sent us to the top of a hill some distance from the Pear Tree. But when I entered the address on Google maps, it took me right to the door.
4.3
room was clean, bed comfortable. They had obviously made an effort to make us welcome
Bearing in mind that The Pear Tree is a pub, we expected some noise. our first night was fine, noise dying out by 11.30. Our second night was a nightmare. Staff decided to have a lock in. It’s a small pub, with rooms above. We could hear everything they said. They might as well have been in the room. When the music started at 1.30am we’d had enough and went to complain. To be fair, they dispersed and we got some sleep. Another small gripe was that the smokers stood below our room. and it being a very hot night,we had the window open, so got a constant smell of smoke.
If you like a party atmosphere, then you might enjoy your stay. If you want a good nights sleep AVOID.
4.3
very nice inn, spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our stay, very satisfied.
Breakfast at the inn would have been ideal, but with the brewery a couple of minutes away it was no problem.
4.3
location staff and brewery breakfast
bathroom door wouldn’t close
4.3
Large room with average facilities.
Talking from guests in the garden bar till late.
Bathroom needed a vacuum and no toilet paper.
Entry to sleeping quarters behind the bar was not ideal.
4.3
Location was very pleasant and room was a good size.
Room was very very noisy as above bat and it didn't become quiet until 02:50 on Friday night (Saturday Morning) and then 01:20 on the Saturday Night (Sunday morning). Bathroom needs a bleach attach and the shower was under powered and ran very hot and then very cold so not ideal.
4.3
did not stay returned home
everything the room was disgusting, de humidifier and the worst damp I have ever seen on the window wall, had we stayed I would have been ill
had full refund and left within 10 minutes

We walked down the lane to the Brewery Cafe: great breakfast!
Cant think of anything
4.3
Location was good for our stay. Our room was comfortable & generally clean & tidy ( could have been vacuumed more thoroughly as there were bits left on the carpet but this did not spoil our stay) It was lovely to wake up to the sounds of the birds 😊

Location was perfect and service was excellent.
Nothing.

The property was in a lovely area.
The cleanliness could have been to a higher standard. Also the music and noise from the pub below was loud, but went quiet just gone midnight, ideal If you are joining in but if you want an early night not great.
4.3
convenient location in Hook Norton for the event.
nothing at all.
